Hello everyone.I'm suffering from continuing CTDs after installing FlightParis and Sim-Wings CDG scenery. I've rebuilt FS9.cfg, reinstalled default textures, checked for duplicate AFCADs, tried AFCADs in different folders.What I notice is that the crash occurs during the flight loading process, at about 98% when the Ai traffic is loading. So it makes me wonder, is the amount of AI I have causing trouble? I have a number of separate traffic(airline name).bgl files.Any opinions, suggestions, fixes or cures very welcome!Rob

Have a new problem connecting to and using some flightsim related sites. First, I cannot connect to Simmarket with my FS9 computer. Have two other machines and they connect to it just fine. Second, cannot get the drop-down menus at Airbusdriver.net & Phoenix-Simulation to open (or drop-down). Checked to see that the security settings on this computer matched the other two. Seems to have started after I tried Spysweeper. Am out of ideas.Thanks,Joe

I just recently built a new computer... I've seen on the web where people have multi-monitor setups and multi computers...I only have one monitor... is there a way I could use the second computer for something else in the flight sim to increase the performance or something like that?thanks.

I wrote this for a reply to a locked thread at Flightsim Com, regarding the same plane, that we have locked threads here. :D But I see some real misconceptions regarding constant speed props on a single engine light plane. This might clear up a few matters. Anyway, "NO", I don't feather the 182's prop, because it would be quite impossible! This "one engine" airplane does NOT have a prop that's capable of featering. You're usually only going to find those on piston twins or jet turbo-props. I am considering the Kingair from Aeroworx ..but I can find any good screen shots of the VC.The Aeriworx is very stingy in their screenshots department. I mean look at Flight1 and Dreemfleet... they put it all out there.Are there any flightsimmers webpages who may have posted screenshots?

Noticed a strange observation that may be the normal functionality, but I wanted to check. On the Flight1 site under FE2004, I saw the information about how the "terrain detail" slider needs to be set at "land only", and the "water effects" slider needs to be set at "high." ASV is much easier to work with if one has a a third party flight planner. I've looked at 2 that are here at avsim library. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks. Mike

I have read so much conflicting ideas on where /how to install mesh in FS2004, I am now looking for definitive advice from users in this forum. Mostly I want to install 38m and 76 m meshI have read that it should be installed in the fs9/scenery/world/scenery folder or the fs9/scenery/base/scenery folder or the fs9/addonscenery/scenery folder or in a separate folder of its own and then activated inside the Sim Help!!!Thanks Barry

Flew my first multiplayer session in a couple years the other night. I don't know why--I was just in the mood I suppose. I was very impressed at how stable the MP environment was. One thing that helped is we had all agreed to lock our fps to 20 fps. One issue with Multiplayer is that the fps need to be fairly consistent from user to user. It was never a problem in the days of FS98 when most users had very similar performance, but as simmers environments and configs went their separate ways, getting the fps in line became very important.What really impressed me about my multiplayer session was how stable it was with my being on dial-up. I have tried several times to download and open Justin Tyme's full west coast terrain mesh, only to have the exe file fail to open after I have unzipped it. anyone have any ideas? the dl seems to go OK, granted ths huge size of the file...thanks..Sherm

My problem with this sim is what seems to me as an unusually senstive elevator and resultant problems with pitch control. My question is whether or not I could achieve better control(less sensitivity) with a .cfg edit ? Whether in climb, level flight, or descent the 'flighty' VSI fluctuations require constant attention and make for a tiresome journey in good weather and bad.Thanks for any suggestions. John

Im in need of help. A few months ago i removed Flight Sim 2004 from my computer. Recently i had a change of heart and decided to reinstall it. But everytime i try to insert the CD, it doesnt autorun, and instead comes up with a message saying:"Setup was unable to find (or could not read)the language specific resource dll, unable to continue. Please reboot and try again."I've looked at the Microsoft help site, and followed their advice, but it hasnt helped. Google hasnt helped. Apparently the root of the problem is a file on CD1 of FS2004 called setupenu.dll.Has anyone else had this problem, and if you have, how can it be solved?Thanks for any replies, its a very annoying …

OK, it has been several days and flights completed since the release of ASV. Now I would like to hear honest opinions from the ASV users who had AS 4.5 and FE and upgraded. Was it worth the upgrade?Other questions:How do you install it with Wide FS? Does it have a seperate graphics install for the cloud configuration? Any special install for the users who have FE currently installed? I don't have AS 4.5 on my primary flight simulator machine.Thanks for the feedback!Barry

I have installed Ultimate Traffic a while back, but the default paints always look terrible on my PC and I have not been able to fix it. I have a Pentium 3.4Ghz and X800XT video card and the graphics settings are on high (4x AA, 8x AF, Global Max texture size massive etc). I never see any problem with the scenery or the plane I am flying. The picture shows what I am talking about...Should the default paints appear this way? Since I never heard a real Dash-8 400 before I was wondering which sound set is the most accurate for this plane? The one that came with the Dreamwings Dash-8 400? Or the one made by Christoffer Petersen (dash-8_q400_the_real_deal.zip here in the library)?

Hi,Can someone please guide me through a manual install of the update panel. I can't seem to make it show up. Just incase nobody has noticed, well I have not noticed any posts about it yet on Avsim, on FlyTampas website forum they have a new folder called Midway and in there you will find some new preview shots of Chicago Midway Airport scenery which Martin at Flytampa says will be released maybe next week.SO go check it out.Craig

Hi, all.I've been wondering if there's an aircraft recognition chart of some sort that you might have seen online.I'm always wondering about the sizes of all the commercial jet aircraft variants and end up looking up their specs individually. It would be nice to have a single chart showing relative sizes; you know... the kind of chart that has aircraft silhouettes so that they can be easily compared.Anyone have a handy link for something like this?Much obliged.
