Hello,I have noticed when flying the defualt King Air 350 and tunning to navigational frequencies that the dbl tellow line arrow is tuning to the radio signal in the VOR II radio, and the green single line arrow is responding to the freqency in the ADF radio.I thought I remembered in the FAA Insturment Flying Handbook, chapter 7 pg 7-4 that the dbl yellow arrow should respond to the ADF freqency in the radio stack and the single green arrow to the Nav II signal. I know there is a link in the learning Center to this FAA book, one day I will learn to post pics in the proper format, LOL. Hi all !Does anyone know how you can save a flight in FS2004 with a failure armed ? I've tried it and when the saved flight is loaded again, the failure has been cancelled. It appears that there is no information saved in the .FLT file about the failure (which would explain it) yet the Learning Centre in FS2004 specifically mentions that you can save flights with failures armed to practice, for example, engine failure on take-off, which is what I'm trying to do...Is this an oversight by Microsoft or is there extra info that can be added to the .FLT file to allow the armed failure to stay live in the reloaded flight?Any ideas gratefully received!

I currently have AS4.5 with Flight One's Flight Environment.I am wondering if I do the upgrade to ASV do I disable my FE or use it in the background as I was with AS4.5.I am usung the Cloud,Sky and Water options with FE and was wondering if I need to ditch this program if I goto ASV.All these post thus far on ASV has not made it clear to me what I can use and cant with ASV.ThanksAndy

HiI have a strange problem and hope someone can help!At some point in my flights with whichever plane I fly I lose control over one of the throttles; ie on a twin engine plane when I try to use the throttle only one engine responds - the other remains at the setting it was on.It is beginning to be very annoying and I don't understand why it is happening.Welcome any adviceThanksJohn

Ok, so...this happens every now and then...maybe I press a button on accident to do this, but I doubt it. What is happening is when using my yoke or pressing F2 or F3 to increase/decrease throttle, only ONE of the two engine throttles will move, but at the start of the flight it was working fine...is there anyway to fix this WITHOUT having to reset the flight?Thanks!

Hello,I have been working on and progressing through the skills of using NDB, then VOR's, Low Alt airway charts and approach plates. I respect GPS and will get to it one day. I do feel that the basic navigational skills are key as there will be a time when the GPS syytem or part of it will be out of order and there may be the good ole NDB beacon out there that can get you home as long as you understand how to use it. This goes across the whole spectrum of the added DME's where appropriate and being able to perform a VOR approach.Good or bad thats what I have worked on.One thing I am ready to throw out the window is the "fix". Hi all. HelpIf I attempt to make an entry in my log book the monitor goes black and after about a minute the sim exits with a request to send error message to Microsoft.At about the same time that the above started happening I found that while I can call up my GPS, when I click on the curser to navigate through the GPS menu the sim just exits. My FS2004 will not connect to multiplayer or the MS gaming zone.When I try to connect it freezes,the page file usage climbs to 2.0GB and the game crashes.If I stop AVG Anti-virus and ZoneAlarm it still crashes the same way.I have a new Velocity Micro computor AMD 3400+ 1024RAM and Radeon 850X card .DXDIAG says I have a DirectPlay error 0x80138185 failure at step 9(creating session).I can't download a new DirectX 9.0c it keeps saying all components are installed when I run the runtime file from DirectX site.What can I do? Hi. I've recently taken to using FSAutoStart to close a number of background programmes before it launches fs9 (mostly disk and programme monitoring software). Not sure I'm going to notice a huge difference in performance as I don't have much in the way of memory-hogging utilities loaded on my FS machine.....Just wondered though whether there would be any adavntage - or more to the point, disadvantage, with getting FSA to shut down explorer.exe too? FS9 doesn't need explorer in any way when it's running, does it? I'd gain 20MB+ of memory - though with some 700MB of free memory usually showing before I start up flight simulator, maybe I don't need to be using FSAutoStart …

Wow! Here lately, I've been experiencing FS9 just vanishing - no error messages or trouble indications - just back at ASV and desktop. I have no way of knowing what exactly is causing the problem. First, thank you Chris for your work--greatly appreciated. With AEU7 I get major pauses (not just microstutters). I had the same problem with AEU6 and could not therefore use them. I was hoping for better performance on my system with the latest files. My specs are below. I generally get good performance in FS9. I just purchased FS Global 2005, v3 from PC Aviator.com and was completely BLOWN away !!!!! It was awesum !!! The differance was unbelieveable. Since I live in the USA and already had "Real Scene 2004" mesh I never bothered about the rest of the world. Then I started the "around the world" flights from here on Avsim and I wanted the best scenery I could get for the rest of the world and was I surprised at the differance. I'm not 100 % sure yet, but I think FS Global even improved on the Real Scene2004 mesh here in the USA. If you don't have FS Global, make it your very next purchase. You will not be sorry. Hello,When I've tried to fly in formation with someone in VATSIM network (SquawkBox 3), I'm like getting some huge jumping effect, almost like a turbulence, but even worse. Later I figured out that something is heavily trimming the elevator up and down which then causes such effect. As I'm also using ActiveSky 2004.5, it might be some kind of a prop-stream simulation either by the AS or SquawkBox 3, because my friend, who uses the same software and who I tried flying formation with, experienced exactly the same. It's really very annoying and if some of you have an idea how to get rid of this, please tell me. Thank you!

I have both, and I assume others already have more experience with the two packages, so:Should I use F1's Flight Environment together with Active Sky V, or would it be better to de-install it 'cause it has no advantages over ASV?Andreas
