Hi; Since I mainly fly jets and usually pretty short flights (work) I am wondering what others use as a fuel load, I'd forgotten about this feature in Fs9 and have had some pretty serious accidents while trying to land either a A318 or A320 and it occured to me that there was a #### of a lot of fuel so the a/c was way overloaded, please give me some ideas on the best fuel loading and stuff, greatly appreciated since I was getting pretty depressed about the crashes. I usually fly between Ottawa and Toronto or Toronto and Montreal. Thanks Robin

  2. Hello,Just a sim pilot here with a plug for my new (old in the hanger) favorite addon - the RFP 747! I had it for a long time but did not take it out UNTIL I got the PMDG 747. Just my opinion here but I prefer the RFP bird a lot more - right now. I have about everything I need to learn to fly the RFP which is a heck of a lot more than I have for the PMDG (a really fine addon still). I have fuel and load tools, training videos, tutorials and some really good manuals that are a lot for me to digest. The RFP "steam gauges" all work with my GOFLIGHT setup so I can really get into this thing deeply. The FPS seem a lot better so my textures and scenery seem like a great investm…

Hey compared to this the PMDG 744 is actually a big achievement! ;-)Take a look:http://abacuspub.com/airbus/I mean what the heck is an A350-800? Is it the future A330 that Airbus was thinking of or is it just a humiliating typo and it should be an A380-800...And just take a look at that cockpit - sheesh. The default aircraft look better than that (and the abacus guys used default gauges)I wouldn't even download it if it were freeware let alone pay $30 for it!!Cheers,Adrian

Hey guys, just a follow up to my aircraft texture problem posted earlier. I just wanted to let you know that my aircraft textures have returned and look beautiful. Thanks. What did the trick? Eagle's suggestion that I try a Omega (Radeon) video driver. "Sweet"........ Thanks for you guy's responses and for helping me correct the problem I was having.

What does it do if anything? I notice that there is an entry for it on under the effects or exits section of the aircraft config. Please help, thanks.

Does anyone know of a UK retailer of Jeppesen or similar high and low level en-route charts? I found a few E stores in the US but one wanted over $50 postage on six $5 charts. Slightly expensive I think you'll agree. If anyone knows, please enlighten me.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpgSemper en excretum, solo profundum variat!

G'Day friends,A persistent problem occurs with the FS2004 program I purchased recently (Oct.05).The program will not load a selected saved flight from the My Saved Flights category. When a saved flight is selected from the list, the default 172 flight is loaded after the Fly Now button is pressed. I can select a saved flight by closing the fs9 program, opening the Flight Simulator Files folder in My Documents, right clicking on a saved flight and opening the file with FS2004.I have uninstalled/reinstalled FS2004 with no change to the problem.I have used FS2002 for a number of years without this problem.Im hoping for some help,Cheers,Len Bent.My system is--AMD Athlon XP 2000+…

Hello All:I have never downloaded an AI flight plan zip file until tonight. Truthfully, I don't know exactly where to put the files in the zip file. Do I just unzip the file to the root FS9 folder? I see the zip file I downloaded has *.bgl files, *.bmp files for an aircraft texture, an aircraft schedule as a .txt document. Is there somewhere on AVSIM that has a tutorial on how to handle this stuff? Thanks for any help

I have good reason to believe that this will be one of the versions available when FS10 is released. FS "Grassy Knoll" will enable those who want to to create a conspiracy based adventure around an aviation theme. Topics will include such delights as "Is the survey what it seems?" - Fly the Cessna 172 through a maze of cunning scheming. Can you see the obvious truth or will you lose control as you turn this way and that to see what isn't there?"MS website? Fact or fiction?" Here we take the 747 on a trip to a random airport. Or is it just a fake? A safe landing perhaps is not that hard."MS Blog or not? You decide" A novel way of enjoying your flying. Download a flightplan…

Tom; I believe your post in the "Developers in bed with MS" thread has filled me with the most dismay about the future of this hobby as any I have read in a long time. You! As a mentor, and always helpfull, contributor to our shared passion..well, when YOU offer such a bleak assesment of the future of the freeware community I get a really bad feeling. Now I don't entirely agree with you, as I have followed with great intrest the Blogs of the MSFS Dev team. It appears to me that they are very engaged with all aspects ...freeware as well as payware. As a matter of fact I posted a comment on Pixlepokes blog and tdragger picked up on it as follows; "Nonetheless I was…

I've been flying GA for quite awhile and am now considering buying my first complex aircraft. I'm looking to fly primarily shorter flights (2 hours or less), so I'm thinking the PMDG 737 or similar. I guess my question is whether there is a better alternative, such as the soon to be released Feel There 737 PIC. The screenshots look awesome and it comes with an illustrated guide to help newbies. The PMDG is considered by many to be the best in this genre, but could it be surpassed? Any opinions are appreciated.

In alot of threads on Avsim, people say they would like to see virtual passengers in flight sim. Thats fine, but how do you think it could be done and would it be difficult? It seems like the hardest part would be boarding and leaving the planes. If the door locations are known, jetways could be programmed to automatically move into place and passengers could walk in. But what about airports without jetways and also smaller planes. The passengers would have to walk up stairs/climb in etc. More difficult.Walkways and the seat positions could be defined inside the cabin. That would allow them to get to their seat (in a similar way that ai planes get to their gate). What abou…

Hi all-After reading some posts, I wonder if some of the MSFS beta testers are addon developers. I remember reading about some of ProjectAI's members were beta testers. In fact, didn't one of them convince MS to make assignable parking spots? Also, think I read a while ago that an addon developer meet with some MSFS team members. If MS beta testers are also developers, would that be a conflict of interest? No flame please, just wonder about these things sometimes.Mike

Hey all!Just wanted to let you know I just uploaded my Martinaire repaint for feelThere's awesome Deluxe Caravan cargo. I noticed a shortage and decided to do something about it since I had the time and a paint kit (thanks feelthere!).What's cool to me about it is that back in '97 I worked at Tulsa International and actually crawled in and out of this very aircraft, N9738B. Awesome. I guess it was being used as an overflow, because we usually only got in a Shorts. Well, besides the other feeder Caravans. Neat aircraft!Anyway, thought I'd give those wanting a Martinaire repaint for feelThere's pretty Caravan a heads-up. It should be available to download shortly!Enjoy!-Jer…

Fellow Simmers, Hello I have quite a few add-on aircraft which I enjoy quite a bit... One question of many I have is this. I have heard that the ATR 72-500 from Flight One actually show's icing on the wings etc. I do have this plane but I don't know If I have ever noticed the icing. Could someone enlighten me on this please. I was also wondering are there any planes out there that the windows ice? Besides the Grumman Goose. I think that Goose is an excellent aircraft but I think it would be a very neat effect where the windows ice up and when you do kick on the heat they would slowly start thawing out instead of blink they are clear. …
