FS24 isn't doing well on Steam. Neither is FS20.

Yeah I think if somehow Microsoft decided to totally pull the plug on 2020 and 2024, most of the hardcore sim type would move to xplane not p3dv6.

I think I'd more likely finally decide to find another hobby

Er, people who are interested in flight simulation and the prospect of continued support for our hobby down the years? As usual it will probably turn into another miserable MSFS 2020 vs MSFS 2024

This is why I don't really use it. Who cares if the physics and ground are so good, when objects are popping in front of you? Or melted buildings and blobs of trees are surrounding an airport. You can

Just curious, do you continue to have CTD when you don't dabble in the latest SU beta, and just run default planes and keep things fairly simple?  I ask because I'm not having any CTD and have maybe 65 flights now under my belt.  But I only have maybe 12 3rd party airports from 2020 I enabled.  I use 2024 with Self Loading Cargo, BATC, APL and don't seem to have any  stability issues whatsoever.

I rarely get a CTD except in the betas. I have nothing in my community folder and don’t even have navigraph installed.

Why so, did you even give them a try?

I bought 2024 last night.  Loaded up a flight in VR and was greeted by a large black box in the middle of the screen.  After hitting escape and resume got rid of it.  Ok great.  Let’s press the controller button that brings up the toolbar.  What?  I’m now looking at some strange grid menu with buttons I can’t even click.  What is this pop up even for?  My goodness who thought this was even remotely acceptable.  Back to 2020 and XP12 for now.

🤣 I have all the sims! I'm probably one of (maybe) a handful on the Forum who still has FSX, FLIGHT, and Dovetail sim installed and active, not to mention Aerofly and others.

At the last Expo, the marketplace update session had graphs that showed Steam has the lowest number of users of 2020, far below PC and X-box, in fact at times even mobile had more, so I am not sure it makes sense to conclude too much from Steam data.

That said, the introduction of 2024 was atrocious. No need to rehash all the difficulties here but even the Marketplace did not come online until March, four months after release! Some of the changes I just cannot comprehend, the UI is not particularly pleasant and the control assignments are terrible!  So, it is really quite understandable that many decided to wait, others tried it quite reasonably and went back to 2020. I agree with what most have said here that as the sim gets some more updates and 3rd party content becomes available that 2024 will grow. There are a lot of positives with 2024, but it needed proper beta testing, not just for bugs but for functionality.

I was messing around with XP12 and configured my controls. So easy and intuitive. Only someone with no experience at all in flight sims could have come up with FS24’s control assignment design. But then as i play around with XP12 it becomes clear that the people creating it are very experienced. With FS24 (and FS20) a lot of non simmers clearly are working on the project. But the vast difference in resources is clear in many areas. It’s David vs Goliath.

We would have no other choice but to move to Xplane.

Or Falcon BMS. Later this year we get new scenery. Should be a game changer.

While I totally agree with you about disliking the control scheme for FS2024, I consider it a moot point since it can be totally bypassed with spad.next.  I realize it's a steep learning curve for most.  But with extensive home cockpit hardware it's a must.

And not a realistic one at that. Military arsenal is confidential.

I don't care much about the numbers, I love 2024, it works flawlessly in my pc, and that's all I care about.

In fact, the more players on 2020 and less on 2024, just leaves more server resources for myself...LOL🤣

They (Msobo) should be cleaned out, to make way for new managers that put simmers first.
