  1. I didn’t move the AEP folder anywhere specific in the scenery packs file and XP placed it at the bottom. Works fine.
  2. I hope for 3 improvements. Better mouse cursor icons and scaling, ability to click on screens such as EFBs (this might be more aircraft developer specific), and reduced cloud artifacts while in vr. edit: thought of one more. Get rid of the giant menu screens that appear in front of your face sometimes with no ability to see the edge to grab or move.
  3. Rather than being rushed, I don’t think inibuilds intended this to be “study level” on the same level as PMDG or Fenix.
  4. The discord link on their GitHub page is out of date. Perhaps someone already in their discord can let them know it’s expired.
  5. In that case, can you please go ahead and buy the King Air 😝
  6. That’s because you’re using map enhancement. The default scenery has city night textures to the horizon. You will still get the 3D lights popping up closer though. Pick your poison.
  7. Yes. Sliders in both sims are set on the mid range, if not a bit lower on some settings.
  8. My VR experience is the complete opposite. I find XP runs smoother than MSFS, and the cockpits and lighting are sharper. So yes try the demo since experiences can vary significantly.
  9. Haven’t tried the latest beta yet, but it was certainly there with 12.3. I previously filed a bug report but do not have a record of getting an xpd number back.
  10. You get a double mouse cursor in vr. That alone was a dealbreaker for me, unless you like closing one eye to click buttons.
  11. My guess is we’ll see some improvement in the current XP12 cycle, but the major update for XP13 in 2027 😮
  12. Regarding LODs, the wind sock is not visible when you are flying at the pattern altitude. I would think this would be pretty important when trying to figure out which runway to land on at an untowered airport.
  13. Unfortunately as a VR flyer I need to keep the graphics settings on the lower end otherwise it’s a slideshow or CTD. With these lower settings I’m not getting the benefit of the better visuals at ground level.
  14. I deleted MSFS 2020 a couple weeks ago to focus on MSFS 2024. Other than the vastly improved loading times, and some cloud layer improvements, I’m not seeing much of a difference or a stand out feature. I don’t use career mode so maybe that’s it.
  15. My understanding is that to improve performance they will have ground represented by solid green, water by solid blue, and sparse white lines to represent roads or buildings. This worked perfectly fine on my C64 and I think it will work here too! In all seriousness though, they should lean in hard to the “living scenery” concept. I was doing a VFR flight today and a balloon was passing below me. I swear it looked real. They already have great vehicles and trains. Now let’s see moving waterways/waterfalls, birds, seasonal changes to fields, tractors, etc, etc. This is the advantage of not having to rely on photogrammetry.
  16. How is it “consumer hostile” to hold the lower cost for current subscribers? What in your opinion should they have done?
  17. They are in msfs. However, in xplane they only turn on at dusk or inclement weather, and therefore may have more ability to control airport lighting. Keep in mind SI is a multi-sim product with one fee for all.
  18. I agree XP growth will soon change for the better, especially with the next gen scenery launch, if it’s as good as what I made up in my imagination 😊. Regarding MSFS 2024, Jorg stated during this weeks developer stream that it had more users than 2020. I have my own reasons to doubt that, but then he would be lying would he not?
  19. They just did. It’s now in their beta branch and available to test.
  20. XP12 released in late 2022, and apparently had record sales. This would also indicate the hobby is doing quite well. Even if XP lost market share to MSFS, the size of the pie got a whole lot bigger.
  21. The developer intended to update his products. He then ran into health issues, and made a post explaining the situation. What exactly is “dishonest” or “made up” about that?
  22. Asobo has implemented turbulence effects incorrectly. Instead of shaking the airplane, they shake the scenery instead which makes for a much more vomit inducing experience. 🤢
  23. FSrealistic is. However, since you need Chaseplane for the plus version it is not. Chaseplane has had a longstanding bug that duplicates the mouse cursor in vr making it difficult to click anything with a mouse.
  24. I echo what Litjan said. The default airports are very well done. Note that many of them have been created by the user community (you may have heard the term “scenery gateway”) with a passion for getting their “home” airports just right. Having said that and contradicting my own advice, I’m waiting on a sale to purchase all the Alaskan airports from Northern Sky Studios 😂
