FlyByWire Simulations | A32NX | FMS Version 2

Featured Replies

Hi there,

We're thrilled to announce the release of our entirely custom FMSv2 for the A32NX into the Development Version! This update is packed with some long-awaited features such as:

  • Missed approach capability
  • Alternate flight plan capability (initial implementation)
  • Improved logic and handling of FMS routing
  • Enhanced logic for constraints and speed/altitude restrictions
  • STARs with multiple IAFs string together correctly.

While the RNP/RNAV vertical aspect is not yet available with this update, FMSv2 sets the stage for its future implementation alongside other planned features. Update now!

Read the docs for more info: https://docs.flybywiresim.com/fbw-a32nx/feature-guides/cFMS/

In Germany we say "Mühsam ernährt sich das Eichhörnchen".

Which means: To progress slowly, sometimes tediously, towards a goal.  But you eventually get there.

Positively noted for the progress made.

Taking her up tomorrow. I prefer Airbus so more excited for this than that other plane that was released this week.

What do you mean?  Your username seems to favor that other plane HAHA!

What about decoupling the 2 MCDU's? When will that happen?

Yeah, I know times have changed since I chose that one over 20 years ago, but I figured I’d keep it since it was the OG one

They said in Discord now that this is out that is possible and on the roadmap.

I know just giving you a hard time.  I just don't fly many airliners at all...  the Fenix looks cool but I still need to learn how to really operate the Airbus... so this version is fine for me for now.  I have the 737-700 and its decent - the FMS is more comfortable for me to use - similar to proline stuff like the CJ4 etc.  The Airbus MCDU always feels backwards to me hehe.  I need to give it another go.
