  1. Probably have the issue with Windows Defender/Security identifying Traffic Controller as a threat and deleting the Traffic Controller .exe file. Do this. Re-download Traffic Controller from AIG. Extract as normal but before you run it, set Windows Security to ignore that folder. It will then work as normal. Don’t delete the original folder as it will have all your downloaded aircraft.
  2. The key phrase. Give CCleaner unrestrestricted access to fix every single reg “error” it finds and it will break Windows and apps. Guaranteed. Never, ever delete a reg entry simply because CCleaner says you should. Use it with discretion after uninstalling apps (deleting only that apps reg entries) and other entries where you know that the reg entry relates to a now redundant change you have made.
  3. No, I chose the clean install option and there was no checkbox for the app. Only the usual main driver, audio driver and phys x or whatever it is called. I selected ONLY the main driver and the audio driver and got the app for free. 😡
  4. As for me, installed OK but super annoyed that NV force installed the App. I don't want the app, don't need the app but now I have the app. Maybe I missed a checkbox, but they certainly did not make it obvious. The app is buggy and cr@pware, nothing more, nothing less. Also super annoying, the app is defaulted to optimise games. So if you are not careful, and uncheck the relevant boxes, all your carefully tuned settings get nuked. Driver seems fine in MS2020 though. The advice to not install new GPU drivers unless there is documented benefit to the sim is usually wise (don't fix something that is not broken) but keep in mind that this DLSS4 stuff (and the rubbish NV app) is in it's infancy and NV are improving/debugging with these driver releases, so updating the GPU driver regularly makes sense if you are taking advantage of FG and DLSS "tech", and/or running a 5000 series card. Curious why you use Preset D for DLSS-RR? I have this at default. The rest of my settings mirror yours mostly.
  5. If you are running DLSS4, makes a lot of sense to upgrade to this driver as it is early days for DLSS4 and the launch drivers have thus far not been good. With this driver, I have made the switch to DLSS4. Not by using the NV App and not by using DLSS Swapper. Personally, don’t think DLSS4 (Preset K) is any better that DLSS version 3.7, let alone subsequent versions, but hopefully DLSS4 will continue to improve over time.
  6. @MrBitstFlyer please can you let me know how you use DLSSTweaks to enable the Ultra Quality setting?
  7. To correct what has been said in this thread a few times, and the cost of a Navigraph sub aside, the TDS GTN 750 NXi is the cheaper option. I bought it a long time back. Once-off payment and then an optional upgrade to the Pro version which I have. For those that advocate the PMS version is cheaper, how many times are you going to renew that annual license……….? 😉 The TDS is a brilliant piece of software, makes several otherwise very average GA aircraft something more special.
  8. 2020 running as good as ever. Running the 566.36 NV driver and DLSS 3.7.10.0. No way am I upgrading to the half baked DLSS “4” and even less baked 572.16 in all its hotfix “glory”. Oh, and the NV App is just crudware. Sometimes, when I read these forums, I wish you could all come see my PC running MSFS…. liquid smooth, no stutters, native FG and DLSS 0.85 ULTRA quality and ZERO ghosting on speed tape or anywhere else, in 4K glory. Always happy to share my settings IF your system resembles mine. In a nutshell, MSFS is as good as it ever has been.
  9. The files with extension .dlsss are just back up files. When you use DLSS Swapper, it backs up the two original files with this extension name before swapping them. You can safely ignore or even delete those two files as previous versions of the dlss files are available to download (or you can use DLSS Swapper) if you ever want to revert. The sim outright ignores all files with the .dlsss extension. 😉
  10. Hmmm, not sure what you have there but for MSFS2020 there should only be two files… nvngx_dlss.dll nvngx_dlssg.dll Hover your mouse over these files and it will show you which versions they are. You only place these two files in that one folder. Not anywhere else. There is a third dlss file doing the rounds that is not used by the sim in any way and should be ignored, nvngx_dlssd.dll. Don’t place this file in your sim.
  11. For Steam it is a usually in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Microsoft Flight Simulator Inside this folder you will find the two dlss dll’s that can be swapped out. Even if you have your sim on a different drive, unless you also installed Steam to a different drive, this is the typical default location.
  12. In other words the NVidia app is seriously bugged. I won’t be installing that rubbish.
  13. The latest CPU’s are the bottle neck in MSFS2020, even with a 4070Ti Super. With a 5090, the bottleneck is growing not the FPS count. Huge $$$ for marginal gains.
  14. You have a great GPU, but your CPU is aging and holding your system back. Try DX12 and set your Anti Aliasing to DLSS Quality and switch Frame Generation on. These settings are in the sim’s Graphics menu.
  15. I spent a chunk of time testing the new DLSS4 in MSFS2020 this past weekend and the above option is SIGNIFICANTLY better on MY system. I went back to 3.7.2.0. With my 4K monitor running G-Sync and the 0.85 scaling, Sim DLSS set to High Quality, DLSS4 at Quality setting is comparatively downright awful. DLSS4 gives 30% more FPS yes, but terrible ghosting in the bottom forward corner of side windows (C172) and in trees over forested areas. I will give it another shot when the official release comes out but I am saving my 3.7.20 files and for now, I am not remotely impressed with DLSS4. Very surprised how different my opinion is to the majority here but it is what it is. 🙂
  16. He also stresses the point that this will not work unless it is set only in the global base profile. 16:25 thru about 17:30.
  17. Not sure I like this DLSS version in MSFS2020…… you lose the option for “Ultra Quality”. That means the best setting in sim with DLSS Anti Aliasing is “Quality” and while that gains a ton of FPS, image quality is down on what I am used to on my 4K monitor when using a factor of 0.85 in Nv Profile Inspector. For me that means going back to 3.7.10 as that was the last version that allowed Ultra Quality and it produces a better image that DLSS 4 with Quality. When you have native FG and are already getting 80-90 FPS, extra FPS are far outweighed by better image quality.
  18. Probably the "global" setting is suggested if you want to be using it in all other games, so you don't need to set up each game separately. If you are only running MSFS, no reason to use global, just use the specific Flight Simulator Profile.
  19. Hello all. Quick question for MSFS2020. MSFS2020 has two .dll files: nvngx_dlss.dll and nvngx_dlssg.dll. However, in that Github download link in this thread, there is a third option, nvngx_dlssd.dll. Anyone know if that is relevant to MSFS2020? Guessing not as the sim will only be calling file names it knows? I am copying the files manually, hence asking the Q. Thanks.
  20. Was super excited for MSFS2024 but after the initial horror show and the ongoing major issues being highlighted by the YouTube brigade, staying with 2020. It just runs so well. Everything works. Never crashes. Runways are always there when you land on them. I predict that a year from now, majority of flight simmers will be back on 2020 with MSFS2024 relegated to “Windows Me” status, used only by gamers wanting the career stuff and looking at pebbles in the river.
  21. Yeah, why do the dev’s feel this is necessary? I don’t own MSFS2024 but even in MSFS2020 and in particular the FBW A32NX, more recently, when the sunlight reflects off the screens they are a disgusting slime of fingerprint smudges. They are not even touch screens! As are the flight deck windows. This is not realistic, takes it way too far. Who would want to fly an aircraft that looks like it last saw a cleaning crew 10 years ago!? No self respecting pilot would consider that acceptable in real life. I don’t.
  22. Either a bug or intentional, apparently there was nothing mentioned officially about the loss of Ultra Quality. There’s a big theroretical difference between Quality and Ultra Quality. Quality works on a fixed 0,66 factor for DLSS upscaling whereas Ultra Quality gives you the freedom to upscale using any factor you want such as 0,80 or 0,85. This number is set in NVidia Inspector by the user (you). This is great for 4K monitors. The higher this number the more detailed the image on the monitor, but the greater the load on your PC (GPU). For me, I went back to the previous version that allows Ultra Quality. I run DLSS with Ultra Quality at 0,85, in tandem with native Frame Generation. I have a 4K G-Sync Monitor and an RTX4070Ti Super and I am very content with the results. Better than TAA, and the infamous speed tape is perfectly sharp if you also select High Quality instead of the default Quality for a setting in NVidia Control Panel. Edit: I‘m running MSFS2020
