I pre-ordered

Wise decision.👍 I was very much planning on buying the Honeycomb Alpha but Ray was very persuasive with his comments and the only thing which regretted me opting for the Fulcrum was my bank account.😊 I, on the other hand, am very pleased with my choice

Hi Kevin, it well be a Q400 yoke and a more generic throttle with interchangeable handles.

👍 thanks, does the Fulcrum come with spousal persuasion support at point of purchase? 🤣🤣🤣 I may need to slip in a special voucher for something she likes for her to find when she opens it for me..

Maybe if you bought a special first officer yoke that would work? It is obviously yoke envy. We should offer a couple's package!

The question to ask is: How important is this so called 'Spouse'? Is she dispensable?  Furthermore, if she is important to your well-being exersize a little control!  Are you a man or a mouse?

"Viewed the vid, I like the 4k resolution and the sturdiness, but lack of a forward facing PTT button is a major factor for me, given I always fly with VoxATC."

Kevin,

I have the Fulcrum yoke and also fly with VOX ATC...the position of the PTT button is not an issue...

I'm trying to exercise a little more control, that's why I'm buying a better quality yoke 😉

Best part of £500 seems exp

I know I’ve mentioned  this before on the forum, I went to the 2019 Cosford  show with a pocket full of money to buy the best yoke I could, which I thought at the time was going to be a Yoko +.

I don’t like to use the phrase money was no object, but I spend a lot of time in the winter months on the simulator and also use it to keep up the hand-eye coordination flying skills for the day job when not flying much, so I can justify the outlay.

Little did I know that I’d spend almost the whole of 2020 flying my simulator and not go near a  real aircraft.

Anyway, at the show I tried the yoko and the fulcrum back to back and to me at least, with about 30 years of flying real world airliners the fulcrum was the better yoke no question in terms of feel and feedback. Some of that is purely subjective of course and the yoko is a fantastic yoke there’s no doubt , but the fulcrum was my firm personal favourite.

The only thing I couldn’t quite understand was the fulcrum’s much lower price point.

It’s a lot of quality engineering for the money and feels better than a lot of real world aircraft yokes.

Thanks for your kind words Jon, I better send a cheque!

I'm not sure how to put this without coming across like I'm on some sort of holy mission but it is fair to say that a small part of the pricing strategy was to give something back to the flight sim community. The idea was to give quality to the average enthusiast as I was fed up of looking at big price tags for sub-standard hardware. Obviously it is still expensive as everyday purchases go and some people won't be able to justify the price or be fortunate enough to have enough disposable income.

The other factor was that if it was too expensive then not many people would be able to buy it and there are other high end(expensive) yokes out there. The pricing was aimed at the enthusiast level similar in price to a good quality racing wheel in the sim racing community.

Does that mean we jump the pre-order queue? 😉 On a serious note, how long do I have left to mitigate my pre-purchase before it arrives and she opens it please Chris?

Not long now, maybe another week before your purchase email goes out and dispatch a week to 10 days after payment. This is all depending on suppliers. 200 yoke handles did not arrive today for some reason. Seems there is a trucking issue causing a delay. This won’t affect yours because we already have some in and being painted but you get the point.

This is a general response and not aimed at you Jon.

Imagine if the Yoko had been released back in 2004 when you could get €1.60 for 1 GBP. The price of the Yoko would have been around 550GBP. The reason it’s so expensive now (for Brits) is mainly down to the GBP / Euro exchange rate which is currently around €1.18 for 1 GBP. That’s a massive price hike and purely down to the exchange rate.

But now, and especially for Euro or USD customers, the relative strength of those currencies against the GBP makes the Fulcrum very attractive. Order without delay! 😉

I was in the market for a new yoke and I pre-ordered the Fulcrum One yoke at the time it was available to do so. My advice: buy it now and don't wait. The more you hesitate the longer the wait will be. Once you receive the yoke, you'll realize the £500 is too low for this yoke.
