  1. When you've completed the check do this to find the results:- How to Find the CHKDSK Log: Method 1: Event Viewer (Recommended) Right-click Application and select Filter Current Log.... In the "Event sources" dropdown, check Chkdsk and Wininit. Locate the most recent entry with Wininit as the source to view the log. Copy and paste the results from the entry,
  2. Kevin, don't do anything drastic at this point. To check the integrity of your HDD do the following:- Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run chkdsk C: /f /r /x to locate bad sectors and repair file system errors. Please note you need to respond Y and reboot your PC. When it starts the check begins. Report the results. In all honesty if the HDD is failing get a SSD but if possible do a backup of your entire HDD using free software like Aomei. https://www.aomeitech.com/ab/ Another thing you could do is right-click the Windows Start button, select Event Viewer - select Event Viewer (Local) and report how many Critical and Error entries in the last hour.
  3. @simfan1983, sounds interesting. Maybe post a separate topic with the instructions and I’ll pin it. Might be best in the Windows 11 forum.
  4. Don’t forget Radar Contact v4 is available free of charge in the AvSim Library. Works perfectly with AIG Ai aircraft too. 👍
  5. Aivlasoft EFB isn’t compatible with 2024 plus the lack of an AFCAD editor are key reasons I stay with P3D. I’ve seen 2024 lots of times and have given my reasons why I still prefer P3D.
  6. v5.3HF2. I had issues with 5.4. It has lots of 3rd party airports lacking for v6. ORBX FTX Global. No streaming options available. All those mentioned by simfan1983 plus FSUIPC6, Steam Lossless Generation and AIG Ai aircraft for full immersion at 3rd party airports lacking. I have TrueEarth GB and it add a lot to the realism. Your system is very similar to mine and will cope admirably.
  7. @BWBriscoe, you need to post this on the official AIG forum together with the logs.
  8. I’ve changed the title of this topic to make it generic. Please use this topic to advise of new releases. Any separate ones will be hidden.
  9. That doesn't look like a 4090 to me. I have one and it's far larger than that one.
  10. Putting that message into Google reveals solutions. https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/588819-non-sequential-layer-ordering/
  11. An update. ALT + spacebar now removes the menu bar. Maybe a Windows update has “fixed” it. 🤣
  12. Understood but it’s a decent free offering. Did it not appeal?
  13. @Jla6yx, i wouldn’t touch something like that with a bargepole. The author of the Newquay scenery provided an uninstaller in the parent folder. Registry is rarely touched for P3D scenery.
  14. So is the problem solved? With no SODE objects you shouldn’t be seeing any Red Xs.
  15. I was curious enough to download and install. There's a folder in the SIMOBJECTS folde named SWSCENERY_EGHQX. That contains multiple SODE folders each containing those objects.
  16. Look for a EGHQ folder in the SODE folder. Never heard of that uninstaller. Sort the xml folder in descending date order. Most recent will be at the top.
  17. If the red X signs remain then you missed some. Search for anything with EGHQ in the title.
  18. SODE files are stored in:- C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\xml\ Find the ones relating to Newquay and delete (or rename) them.
  19. Indeed I did but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Topic locked.
  20. I completed the survey knowing what the results would be. I’ve stuck with P3Dv5 because it works for me. Plus Aivlasoft EFB isn’t compatible with MSFS24. Then the AFCADs can’t be edited as they can in P3D and FSX. The authors have retired. If P3D doesn’t work then I know it’s down to me. Not some server issue somewhere in the world. What’s the point in buying a new sim and then having to buy all those aircraft again. And all the airports. And FSUIPC. And ActiveSky. And for what gain? Google Earth satellite imagery with photogrammetry buildings which only looks great below 3,000ft. My flying is 6 miles up and 12 miles up in FS Labs Concorde which incidentally isn’t available for FS24. And once clouds spoil the view as happens quite frequently in NW Europe what are you left with? Better lighting. Really? Is that it? With Steam’s Lossless Generation app which cost me an outrageous 8GBP I can get 60fps at pretty much any airport and that includes AIG aircraft. As long as Hi-Fi have weather data for my sim I’m more than happy to keep it for the rest of my days. It’s not just the leap into the unknown with MSFS24. It’s the loss of crucial apps that I couldn’t live without.
  21. I imagine so Emile. It did with v1-5 plus FSX.
  22. Look at my signature. I’m running P3Dv5. 😉
  23. Tools like Google Earth Pro should be a great help. You can zoom all the way in to see parking position numbers and all the taxiway names. The terminal buildings need modelling but asking for photos of those shouldn’t be that difficult. Many developers may have full time jobs so time dedicated to developing scenery may be limited. My local airport, Manchester, has an extended leg on T2 but the UK2000 version I use is still fine by me. I haven’t visited many other airports but looking at Malaga shows it to be very close to reality. Two runways and extra terminal buildings. Biggest frustration is Dublin with the new second runway but it’s something I can live with. I don’t expect the developers to work on it for so few users. What is very important to me is an accurate Concorde and FS Labs version is the best but only available for P3Dv5. Swings and roundabouts. Win on some, lose on others. 😉
  24. Hi @Stavros, I have many of those airports you mention plus many others all around the world. I rarely fly into the same airport on a frequent basis. It depends on what aircraft I’m flying. I have no doubt the best ones will beat those in P3D but my stock of airports has been accumulated over several years and would cost a small fortune to buy them for 2024. I’ll be visiting a friend who has 2024 in early May so I’ll ask him to show me his best airport. Some in P3D like Hong Kong and Shanghai are extremely impressive especially when you have all the AIG airlines too.
  25. Rogen, the only things I’ve had to work on in 11 is adding exceptions for Defender to ignore as 11 is far more “protective” than 10 and earlier. If something isn’t broken I tend to leave well alone and yes, like you I have 20+ years of IT experience. I suppose I’m not a tweaker. 😁 All those programs running in the background are having no impact on my flight sim sessions. The Adobe ones are reported as having high impact but don’t seem to have any effect. I was offered a free upgrade of 10 to 11 on two computers which was gratefully accepted.
