This is just a poll I wanted to make, because I'm considering getting a new CPU. (i7 9th gen?, i9?)

At a certain point, at least for flight sims, you reach the zone where nothing much can be done to get the speed (fps) higher.

I doubt there is a discernible difference amongst the extant "high end" processors, after all the overclocking is said and done.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Upgrading soon from an ancient i7 3770 but can’t decide on the i7 9700k or i5 9600k. Research ongoing...

6700k @4.7 here, but beginning to show it's age now as I've upgraded to a 2080 Ti. When flying the FsLabs Airbus it's always near 100% utilization when I'm near the ground. Probably not going to upgrade in the near-furture though, as I can still have moderate-high settings and the GPU keeps me at 30 fps in just about all situations (except FlyTampa KBOS, don't understand that one).

6700K @4.7 as well, with a 1070Ti. I am waiting for the technology change to 7nm Nvidia GPU and 10nm Intel CPU.

8700K delidded. Run without overclock as I'm not simming, but runs at 5 GHz on all cores easy. 5.2 GHz max with HT off. Cooling NH-D15S.

I'm not even listed in the options!

Core2Quad Q9650, a 3.0 GHz quad core that I overclock to 3.78 GHz.  Would I like to upgrade to a newer generation CPU?  Absolutely!  But it will wait until it's in my budget and I have more pressing budgetary needs at the moment.

That's a great CPU. I still run FS9 on it, and it's smooth as silk, easy 30 fps with many airport addons and GEPro. Lovely!

Don't plan on anything until I see what the options are later this year I could be going back to the red camp.

8700K @ 5.0 ghz -- built December 17/Jan 18

My tentative plan is to rebuild about a year (or a bit more) from now -- Q1 or Q2 of 2020.  I figure by then they'll be a nice advance over what I have now.

just rebuilt my computer with a 9700K - Non-Oc'd (so far) paired with an RTX 2080ti. I'm happy with my results.

I'm coming from an i7-2700K @ 4.4ghz with a GTX 1060(i think it was a 760)
