525A Citation CJ2 HD Series for FSX | P3D

Hi to all, Large powerful computer with 1080Ti and 1070. No hardware issues. Had Prepar3d v3.4 installed with Phenom 300. Due to unrelated issues, had to re-image my system, so I installed the 64bit Prepar3d v4 instead. All my addons work, Active Sky, Orbx scenery......except my Phenom 300. So I go the CJ2 that was v4 compatible which I now find has a less than desirable FMS. (I'm a real world pilot, and in my career I've had to fly some real crates, but in latter years have been spoiled by the glass environment - never want to go back.) The white ground idol light is on in flight. It should be off. It tells you that the engines are at a lower idle speed and could possibly flame out. Advisory only. The panel should be clean (dark) in flight unless something turned on (anti ice) , speed brake. I am type rated in this and unwanted lights are annoying. otherwise nice job. As close as you can get to the real thing.

I was on a RW board the other day, where there was a discussion concerning a CJ2+ accident. The pilot was climbing through the low FL400's in VS mode, when his inattention cause the IAS to decrease until the airplane stalled. There were several posters who advocated always climbing in FLC to avoid this scenario. Another group complained that FLC was always "hunting" and made for an uncomfortable ride for passengers. So maybe our issues with FLC in the Carenado CJ2 aren't much different than those encountered in the real airplane.

I have downloaded the panel v1.1 mods by Ray Marshall for the Carenado CJ2. I am confused with the instructions on how to install the mods. Number 2 instruction says to unpack the CAB files into a folder with same name showing folder name as AUTOPILOT_CJ2525A. It shows the same folder AUTOPILOT_CJ2525A for the CARPROLINE_CJ2525A.cab and the GAUGECJ525A.cab also. I thought that there should be 3 folders for the files to put in the Panel folder with the same 3 names as original cab files. If that is the case why couldn't I just copy the original CAB files into the Panel folder and then unpack the new mod v1.1 cab files to the 3 original cab files in…

Hello, Yesterday i bought this airplane and when i wanted to fly i see a transparent cockpit. I fly FSX with the acceleration pack. I know there is a lot written about this problem, but i still don't have found the solution. What i did so fare: - i did install as admin and disabled my anti-virus software. - new installation of my acceleration pack over my existing one. - building new fsx.cfg - rebuild shader - clean install of aircraft - remove thrusted software from fsx.cfg - look in fsx.cfg under thrusted software for minus sign Still no luck at all. I saw this photo while I was waiting for Carenado to release the CJ2. I had all weekend and almost all day today without an internet connection or directv. To pass the time I decided to tackle this one and I was about 90% complete when my new router arrived late this afternoon. Somehow I managed to get Next day Air on a Sunday out of ATT. Amazing stuff. Up and running again and thought I would show what she looks like. I will add this to the Avsim library later this week for our cousins across the big pond or anyone that might like a G registered Carenado CJ2. Regards, Ray

While looking at a replay of a landing, I noticed the main landing gear struts do not extend inflight. The compression of the strut is exactly the same in flight as it is on the ground. Thinking it was just a replay anomaly, I performed a takeoff from a spot view perspective. Same result. I then looked at the model with MCX. Carenado modeled the main landing gear struts with the full range of motion. I tried various values of static and dynamic compression as well as static cg height, to no avail. I have noticed other aircraft seem to have the same problem. Is this a P3D problem or an aircraft problem?

I fly the CJ2 with the GTN 750/AP mods. When attempting a regular ILS approach (no LPV available at this Brazilian airport): - I intercept correctly the locailizer - the GTN is on VLOC - I capture without problem the glideslope - further, the glide path indicator starts moving - when the indicator is centered, I engage APPR At this time, although my approach speed and configuration are correct, the CJ2 does not follow the glide path and I have to do it manually. I would appreciate any one telling me what is wrong. Bruno

I'm running P3D v2.4 and would like to purchase the CJ2 and install the mods, but I noticed on Carenado's page it mentions compatibility with P3D 2.5 - 3.0. Does anyone know if it will work in v2.4, I suspect the plane would work fine, but the installer probably would not install into the right directories because of the changes in v2.5? Thanks - Martin

I find this odd, because I own the Carenado Phenom and several high-end aircrafts (i.e. PMDG 737/777) and scenery files (FSDT and FlightBeam Studios) and I never experienced an issue like this.... bought the CJ2 earlier and I am having horrible frame rates - AT THE START UP SCREEN! It will take 10 to 15 minutes for the system to return to normal, but as soon as I load into a airport (I load all new aircraft into KBIF, area is pretty open from congestion) the system will run in such a low frame-rate state it will nearly freeze. I am running a low to mid level system, but I can run plenty of high-end add-ons without this much problems, so I am wondering if I should just d…

I installed the CJ2 correctly without issue (antivirus off during installation, no errors). When I load the CJ2 in FSX the frame rate drops below 1 and basically freezes the sim. I have to exit the sim completely and re start a new flight. All other aircraft work great, only the CJ2 causing problems. Specs are Windows 10 Pro, i7 6700 4Ghz, NVIDIA GTX 1070, 16gb ram. Hey! A long time since I had a glance at a carenado plane. I have seen a vid on youtube. I was flashed by the look of it, very beautiful! I was short before buying, but I already have carenado planes, so I looked into the forums. This is the sad part... it seems there is a problem with navigraph data (updateable navdata is mandatory for me) and fps ^^ Another thing, when I get it right, the altitude number above the alt tape on the pfd is not functional?? Hallo I'm entering a flight plan, calculated by PRO-ATC-X. The plan is as follow: LSZH DCT ALBIX DCT ABESI N851 TORTU DCT BEBEV UM733 CORSI DCT LABOM DCT KOVAS LIEE All works fine, but when I try to enter the leg N851 to TORTU it is impossible to input. If I put as "via" the N851 airway it does not accept the TORTU wp. If I input TORTU as a direct destination, no problem. Prepar3D 3.4 fix 2 with Navigraph data updated to 1613 rev 1 (currently last one) Libraries rebuilt borh in PRO-ATC and Carenado. Can someone help? Thank you.

So, I took my new CJ2 for a cruise from Sedona, AZ to Eagle, CO. Using Active Sky Next, and the Citation. First off, this plane looks fantastic! Clean lines, well-modeled, and the sounds are better than the S550. The cockpit lines are better, too. Second, the frame-rate for this plane is significantly better than the C90GTX. Same Collins Pro-Line avionics, but they seem to work much better. Third is the FMS. It's so much better than previous editions. Entering waypoints is easy, and this one is compatible with entering airways. It even enters the waypoints ON the airway, exactly as it should. I have opened a ticket with Carenado but I have not received a response three days later. Hello, I have been having a problem with waypoints on a STAR loading to the FMS ever since I got the 525A. Once I finish selecting the arrival data and execute it takes me to the Legs page and all of the STAR waypoints between the transition (I enter this waypoint on the flightplan page) and the first approach waypoint are missing. I have to enter them all manually. Has anyone else encountered this and/or know the solution? Thanks for your help!

The first is actually a CJ flying around Europe on any given day by one of our flight simming buddies. We can add a window for a CJ3 but we can't take two out to make it look more CJish. This one needs a few final touches and a final color match. The second was a special request from a couple of guys in Brazil that fly a real world CJ2 just like the Carenado version. These wavy lines look simple but are anything but simple on the Carenado version. This one gets a new logo on the tail and a little tweaking here and there then it will be ready. Regards, Ray

I took a short flight from KSBA to KBUR with only two waypoints in between - FIM and SUANA. It followed the flight plan and indicated correctly to be on the flight path except for one problem. When it reached the first WP (FIM) and turned to fly to the next (SUANA), the PFD indication did not change to show SUANA. It continued to show (in green) FIM. Also, the nm just showed the distance from FIM and not to SUANA. Did the same to the other wp and to KBUR. Just kept showing the distance from FIM. Hi, does anyone here use the BARO minimums feature in the PFD for your appraoches? Is there a more efficient way to set it? because when I'm flying to munich for example, the BARO min is 1670 ft. It would take me more than a minute of holding the "+" button in order to get from the 250 to 1670... Is there any way of getting the dial knob speed higher??

Hey everybody, I'm trying to configure my own, basic panel for the CJ2. Theres really only one thing that I need though: I've seen the images of the big GTN mod package, and I've noticed you managed to separate the Engine instruments from the PFD, to display them as a popup. How did you manage to do that? I have the panel.cfg here, but I can't seem to figure it out... Also, I'm wondering - since you managed to seperate that from the moving map on the MFD, is it also possible to seperate the map from the PFD, so that I only get the horizon and speed/altitude tape?
