525A Citation CJ2 HD Series for FSX | P3D

  1. Started by wakashi,

Hey Gentlemen, Could anyone offer up a suggestion as to why the Carenado Citation CJ2 that I just purchased has great FPS in the cold and dark state (35-45) but when I flip the battery switch on they fall to (.3 - .5)! I have the 550 and the Phenom and they both work just fine. I don't think the database ever did build either as far as I can tell. I tried the suggestions from Avsim and Carenado forums but so far nothing has worked in my case. My rig is less than a year old with Win 7Pro 64, i7-5820 processor, 16GB mem & GTX 980 Nvidia GPU. I am running FSX Acceleration. Any information would be greatly appreciated, Regards, Roger

Hi Folks, Question on RW procedures - where do you want your speed when actually flying published approaches ??? I've been using 180kts or so for maneuvers with flaps up - then slow it once I intercept the localizer - drop gear - a notch of flaps - aim to be at Vapp for the intercept of the glide slope - drop the final notch of flaps once stabilized on the glide slope... Thanks... Regards, Scott

Hi all, No idea if this is even feasible, or maybe I'm just completely mad- I really like the exterior model of the S550 and I like to use it to replicate real world flights using that model, but the flight deck is dated and the FMS is just appalling- so I was wondering if there's an easy way just to merge the interior cabin/cockpit with the S550 model? It seems relatively simple but I'm just not sure if it can be done? Ideally I'd like the ProLine suite in the S550 but that's probably going to become way too complex. Just let me know if I'm losing my senses here! Thanks for any input/advice.

  8. Yep, I think we finally have a high performance Citation with HD textures inside and out. This is using the recent Carenado v1.1 CJ2 with a minimal tweak of an additional 2% thrust scalar so I could use the CJ2+ detailed performance charts. I will rerun the same test with a plain vanilla scalar - no changes - to compare the results. UPDATE: Same flight test with no changes to scalar - Pure v1.1 FL450 389 kts, 643 lb/hr ISA -56C, all else same. This is really good news to those that have been waiting for a small Citation with solid performance. No more eye candy here - this one is ready to go to work for the Virtual Airlines. I am using most of our late…

Hey guys, I am suffering a bit during take off as the CJ2 is so powerful, that I am not able to center it untill I reach v1 with full thrust and the plane brakes out to left or right. Is there any tip to take off in a different way the giving full throttle? Thanx Björn

Carenado don't list Windows 10 as a compatible operating system for the CJ2. Has anyone successfully run the CJ2 with Win 10? My next PC will be Win 10 as the likely supplier, one of the 2 UK builders specialising in flightsim PCs, says it is becoming almost impossible to get Win 7 and so no longer offers it as an option. I'm attracted by the CJ2 as it looks nice (aaaah!) and there have been far fewer negative comments about it here than on some other recent Carenado bizjets, so I guess they got a lot of things right this time. (Put me right if that is incorrect!). Bryn

Hi, can anyone give me a hint how to get the 10's on the ADF radio. I know I've seen the solution somewhere, but after 20 mins searching I'm having to ask.

  12. Our friend Barrel_Owl posted the good news just a few minutes ago but it was buried on Page 44 of the Problems thread. I thought I would bring it to the top of list. For now, you will find the v1.1 using the same download link that you used for the initial v1.0. Here is the fix list: NEW VERSION RELEASED (1.1) CARENADO 525A CITATION CJ2 HD SERIES FSX/P3D VERSION 1.1 Fixes and improvements: - Improved flight dynamics - German registration corrected - Altimeter standby settings fixed - Standby attitude indicator fixed - Annunciator panel corrected - Ground flaps deploy the spoilers issue fixed - Minor bugs fixes Customers should down…

Planned a flight from PAJN to PANC. DP was the ASORT2 which I used the GTN to load. The first magenta waypoint was an altitude (430 ft). It also showed up on the PFD as DTK 265 430' 1NM. My question is what does that 430' mean to me? If I remove that 430' from the DP, then the next waypoint is indicated in magenta and the plane will fly to it. The DP I pulled up on Sky Vector doesn't show the 430'. It just says do a climbing left turn heading 252° to CGL. CGL is my first WP in the GTN Just don't see how that 430" figures into the equation. Hope someone can splain it to me. Thanks. Jim

Hi Just starting out with this aircraft after spending many hours in the PMDG NGX737 AS Airbus' & Majestic Dash8 Using P3D V3 and the cockpit lettering of dials seem a tad 'blurry' and nothing like this: http://www.avsim.com/topic/487159-what-am-i-missing-without-the-gtn-mod/page-3 I have MiMap on & res 1920x1080 plus texture resolution on high... Is there anything I am missing? Any help greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance

  15. Hello All --- well been trying to install and use the 750 with the CJ2 and having a problem. Cannot get the 750 to take control of the AP function. I used the Flight One installer to add it to the CJ2 and checked for both the .INI file being present and the selection of the 750 with the SD card slot. Both OK. Still it will not work. 750 functions all are working internally but no control over the navigation. Have only been with the CJ2 for a short time so most likely some setting I am missing (?) Any help appreciated ---- Thanks!

Hi, I am having a problem activating the Nav on auto pilot. I have installed the newest update from Carenado, & also the 1.4 mod for the Gtn750.After setting up a flight plan or direct to the active nav on the pfd is showing gps, airspeed, dest.& distance & is also displayed on the info bar along with alt etc.. The gtn also is indicating gps on the bottom info bar.Prior to Taxi I have set up alt select, heading & vs speed usually 2000fpm, after takeoff I activate the a/p select hdg, & continue on course & then try to activate the nav which will not function using the mouse. I can actvate the nav using ctl+n on the keyboard. I don't know if I…

Hello, Is there any way to adjust the Display Brightness? When i switch to the "Cold & Dark" mode and turn on BAT and Avionics, stuff on the Displays are only light visible. And when i'm switching back to the "ready for Taxi" mode the Displays have a normal Brightness. Problem is just that the BRT/DIM Buttons at the Displays are not functional. Hope anyone have and idea  Found a Way! I was just blind, sorry Below the PFD are controls for the Displays, and there is also a PFD/MFD Brightness Knob.

Has anyone got the FLC mode to reliably capture the set altitude, if so can you please outline the steps you used. VS mode works fine as far as I have tested it but FLC mode just busts straight through the set altitude. Have not got as far as VNAV mode yet, in my testing I have spent way too much time just trying to sort out the FLC mode , if FLC mode is in fact terminally broken I may have to pursue a refund which is a shame as the product has some potential.

I did a short fight to check the climb and cruise performance compared to the book charts and found some issues. The book that comes with this A/C is lacking. We need a real POH....... This needs to be fixed.…

  25. Jamek BIn has gone way overboard with his mods. Just about everything that has been suggested is now working and a whole lot more. We plan a very short beta testing period that is starting at midnight tonight (actually that is the Alpha, the beta starts at sunrise). We have an expanded beta testing team that will be getting copies tomorrow (Saturday) so they can check things out over the weekend. As we gain confidence in our mod squad's coding changes we will start making them available to the community. Everything is going to be totally free to the owners of the Carenado CJ2. And these modifications will work in FSX, FSX:SE, and P3Dv2-3. It will take a lit…
