I can enter a flight plan into the FMS ok but I'm a little confused on how to set up the PFD. I have it using the FMC as the nav source but do I have to set the bearing source to the FMS also. Not really sure what the bearing source setting does anyhow. Haven't had problems with other acft but this one has me somewhat confused. Can someone give me a quick and dirty on how to successfully fly a flight plan? I feel like the village idiot here even though I have been simming for many years. There is just something I am not doing or doing incorrectly. Thanks for any guidance. Jim

The Hawker must be on a missed approach, and waiting for the controller to wake up. I cant take the anticipation! My credit card is burning a hole in my pocket waiting for this thing. Ive got access to a RL Hawker 850XP that is based at my FBO. Complete with a pilot to give me a rundown on the ProLine 21. Now I just need this product in my hangar. Was kinda thinking maybe Carenado was waiting on the new AIRAC cycle to come out before releasing it. My countless refreshes of the company website have yet to bear fruit. :(

Just some thoughts about premature releases: The Hawker is a pretty nice Aircraft regarding eye candy. Well modeled. The disappointment starts with the Documentaion. There is no Cockpit Guide, no Tutorial Flight, just a few Pages Copied from the real AOM, which doesn't help really. The Proline 21 Manual doesn't help either, because the Avionics are a complete disaster! Why? I won't say anything about the Autopilot, just read the specific topic about this disaster. The FMS iis also a complete disaster. it's nearly unprogrammable and if you go on a direct to, for example, the aircraft goes anywhere but not to the selected waypoint. I was too angry to figu…

According to their FBP, Carenado plans to release SP1 of their Hawker (plus an additional livery) fairly soon. Maybe this will address some of the more obvious bugs and make this thing more manageable.

I don't have a lot because I can't get the glass turned on (I've got the ESIS on though yay!) The usual: amazing looking Sounds are quite good, stick shaker sounds, gear thumps, runway sounds as you takeoff, ambient interior sounds I like too Flying feels really lovely, slow flight is mushy as it should be, did a power off stall in dirty config, a little interesting effect, nose dropped a few degrees and then again some more... maybe an aircraft specific thing not sure. Kinda does that and mushes to the ground with gear and flaps extended (love those hawker flaps... huge!) I've tried two re installs each with "run as admin" when I run the .exe. This in P3D 2.5…

I know...why VOR track when there sophisticated computers. Sometimes it's just nice. Has anyone figured how to do this? I see I can press a button above the MFD it looks like there is an option to scroll between FMS, VOR 1 and VOR 2. I just can seem to figure out the way to select it. Thanks Kevin

For those who are interested, below is a modification I made in the aircraft.cfg file to increase the turn radius of the nose wheel steering. Turns on the ground in the Carenado 850 seem a little wide, although others may think it is fine. In the [contacts_points] section of the config file I changed the value highlighted in red to 58 in the line below (you can adjust the value up or down for more or less steering range): point.0 = 1, 21.52, 0.0, -5.95, 1500, 0, 0.7, 58, 0.45 2.00 0.9, 3, 3, 0, 250, 235 //0.45, 3.0

I knew I would fall short at this point... I'm dumb when it comes to these tubes... so many switches etc. Can anyone label the buttons to push for startup from C+D? I'm running through the manual, got the APU started, got some stuff on, but at engine 2 start I press the green button, and the N2 spools up but nothing happens. What am I missing? Also once the APU is running am I supposed to transfer the load somehow to the aircraft electrical systems? Here's what I see in front of me

Ok i am running P3d 2.4 on windows 7 64bit. I installed the hawker as Admin, i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 3 times and every time same result. The aircraft loads and then the FPS start droping gradually but at the same time quickly from 30 - 0.6 fps , I cant figure it out. No weather loaded, i am running p3d at medium graphics settings im not a big viusals junkie, it doesnt feel like the sim itself is causing the problem I have carenados previous Citation installed and that performs perfectly, Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you again

In normal operations, does the 850XP use flaps 25 or 45 for landing? The GPWS activates at flaps 45. Also, I've seen videos of 800's landing, and they appear to have ground flaps. How are these used? Are they implemented w/ the spoilers? Thanks ~John M

Good Evening I just installed the Hawker on my FSX. Now my Problem ist, that I can't get the MFD's working. All the Screens show blank, Even the Pop-up-Window appears black. Does anybody else have this problem? Or better. Does anybody have a solution for that? Thanks a lot Sterny

So after all of 20 minutes with this A/C - this is what I noticed..... (20 minutes mind you) >Pro-Line Dim switches inop - (Bottom Right of each screen) >Text is poor in the Proline screens - Select Vspeeds and you cant make out the main highlighted words on top. >Under panel flood lights the Proline screens have edge lite bleed. Has anyone had any luck with transferring fuel from the ventral tank to the wing tanks? I can transfer it just fine, but when the ventral tank is empty and I don't catch it in time the engines quit. Am I not doing something right? Thanks, John
