Dear community, I would like to ask, which autopilot vertical mode do you use in climb? I am succesfully using C550 with famous ISG mod v.1.7. prepared by Janek Bln, however would like to know, how do you climb with this bird? I have to use V/S mode, as using IAS mode is not reliable, at least in my case. The plane is jumping up and down, unable to keep selected IAS during climb, even if properly loaded and trimmed. Did I miss any patch prepared by Bert / anyone else or is there any other solution? Maybe I missed something in this forum. Many thanks in advance for the advice.

Hi, I dont want to open up the proverbial can o' worms, but I noticed that some of Carenado's latest releases (including this one and the hawker) are not for sale on flight1's web site. Has the relationship soured? Or is it just a case of the products not being on there YET?

Don't know what to do with this aircraft. I am using FSX on a machine with 8GB RAM which makes the PMDG /// run very smoothly. However, the S550 seems to eat my frames. When using the Navigraph Extension Pack my frames are in the single digit zone which means the S550 is unflyable. Disabling the Navigraph pack and putting many slides in the settings to the left brings me into the 2 digit zone which means I can at least experience some of the VNAV bugs. What am I doing wrong? Is there any hope that Carenado might issue a service pack? Grateful for any advise.

I have the wonderfull Citation without any mods. Only servicepack 2, and i don't have the Navigraph FMC-Extetension. I use the FMC for every flight. For the needed waypoints I use the Onlineflightplanner: http://onlineflightplanner.org/ When you want to use it, you have to choose the oldest AIRAC cycle. This guarantees that every waypoint exists in FSX and also in the FMC of the Citation. Give it a try. To store the flightplans I made a textfile and stored it with the name Flightplans.txt inside the airplanes Folder "\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Carenado S550_Citation II\". Now edit the aircraft.cfg: - in every texture-chapter (fltsim.xx) Chan…

I've had the Citation since day one of release and with various mods from Janek and the ISG FMS addon, I've grown to like it. One gripe though, that continually bugs me is that the landing, panel (particularly the dome) and instrument lights are way too bright, in FSX and P3D. Does anyone know of an adjustment or tweak to give them a more realistic glow

I thought that as we all get to know our CII's, we could post any possible bugs is this thread. Autopilot So far, I've noticed the same issues with the autopilot as we had with the PC-12 when released. ALT, ALT SEL, VS and IAS all seem to get a bit messed up, especially when first engaging the AP. It is possible, for example, to have both VS and IAS mode engaged, which would never be possible on the real aircraft. I can't find a way to adjust VS other than using a default key assignment. Adjusting the altitude only works using the mouse on the gauge on the screen - key commands don't work for this (same as in PC-12), which is frustrating as the clickspot…

The anti-skid switch is a dummy, but for those who do not like to see their wheels lock up when braking, here is the fix: I've added the following gauge as "AntiSkid.xml" to my C2CAR folder, and in the panel.cfg, added gauge11=C2CAR!AntiSkid, 0,0,1,1 to the Vcockpit01 section. <Gauge Name="AntiSkid" Version="1.0"> <!-- Toggle Anti-skid --> <Element> <Select> <Value> (L:ASD_SWITCH_C2_ANTISKID,number) 1 == if{ (A:ANTISKID BRAKES ACTIVE,bool) ! if{ 0 (>K:ANTISKID_BRAKES_TOGGLE) } } (L:ASD_SWITCH_C2_ANTISKID,number) 0 == if{ (A:ANTISKID BRAKES ACTIVE,bool) if{ 0 (>K:ANTISKID_BRAKES_TOGGLE) } } <…

Hi, I saw that to set the altitude you can only do with the mouse, instead the setting of HDG and VS works. For example, I saw that not work if I give the command for "Ap Alt var dec" with FSUIPC (and then use it with joy or with the saitek multipanel). Maybe I have to activate something in some ini file for the aircraft or is not really possible? thank you

Hi, sorry for my english. I bought yesterday the Carenado Citation II with the FMS Expansion pack. I state that I P3D 2.5 and I do not have FSX During installation of the citation and marked correctly on P3D 2.0, at one point it gave me an error it can not find the file exe.xml in in the path: C:/users/appdata/roaming/microsoft games/FSX the installation is blocked and pressing the X to close the window installation continued, however, the plane seems to work regularly, it's that normal? what writes it in the exe.xml? maybe I can manually enter? thank you

hi all, 2 things. 1. What exactly does the counter directly above the %rpm (Engine Gas Generator % RPM) gauge do? 2. The audio panel switches and toggles (COMM, NAV, ADF, etc). Is there any rhyme or reason to how they operate? Seems like you can turn them on but not off. 3. Gyro pressure = 4.5. Green arc is from 2 - 3. ??

Hi all! I have a rather silly question... I've just bought this great looking aircraft and it joins the Phenom, TBM and a few others... In any and all of these: How do bring up the Carenado menus (e.g. the black start menu) up? I have spent hours trying numerous little buttons, switches, you name it - all to no avail... Rather frustrating this... And Carenado's woeful documentation is of no help! Thanks, Rob

In the default Carenado MFD we get to see the Flight Plan with magenta lines when its programmed with the stock FMS. In the modifications with ISG FMS and/or the modification with GTN750 is there a way to see the flight plan in the Carenado MFD or the GTN750 map display ? For the Carenado MFD under ISG FMS integration the only way to do it would be loading the flightplan from FSX planner (which off course excludes SIDs, STARs and Approaches ? If yes, for the GTN750 would the same work or would it need other way to import/program it ?

Hey, I've seen some of you have managed to do some good looking paints! I want to do the same but I don't know how to paint this one. I've done some paints before but this looks very strange. Do you have a template or something? Or is there a guide on how to do it? This is the plane I want to do! Thanks!

Is there any MODS that correct the trim on take-off and flight? I was climbing after take-off to cruise altitude and the trim was not correct. I was at 1000FT per minute and the indicator on the trim showed nose down almost to the extreme. Anybody know of correction to this problem?

I had an interesting aircraft system failure last night while landing at KAST, Astoria Oregon. After touchdown, I deployed the reversers as usual, however I noticed that while I did get an armed and unlocked light for the left reverser, I failed to get a deploy light. The right reverser indicated proper deployment, however the left did not. Upon checking the exterior, the indication was confirmed, as the left TR was only partially deployed. Interesting....

Sorry if I've missed something obvious. New to this forum and I've read a bunch of posts about the awesome gauge mods Bert has done. Try as I might, I can't find a download link anywhere. Did these get removed? Thanks in advance.

Ah, to quote another poster on one of these threads ".....she's like a beautiful woman who hurts you but you come back...". I walked away but couldn't stay away. So today's question is this: do the mains compress when you touch down? I have a habit of replaying my landings to grade myself and I noticed that the gear doesn't seem to compress as the aircraft touches down and the wings lose lift. Has anyone looked at this? Is it my imagination? I have other aircraft where the compression is very clearly observable. Sooo, I've begun experimenting with softening the spring constant of the mains. Thoughts?

That's it. I'm finished with this thing. I've worked on this for nearly a month now along with all of you and it just doesn't work. This aircraft is ok for VFR but it is unsuitable in its present condition for any IMC operations. The AP is just too loose. It does wild oscillations in heading and altitude trying to engage the localizer and glide slope. Mine doesn't even see the glideslope. It's a beautiful aircraft to look at and hand flies well. Our colleagues have labored tirelessly trying to salvage it but to no avail. I have noticed the traffic has dropped off on this page so it appears that I am not alone. So long. Back to a different bizjet.
