As I am scratching my head on how to make the piloting experience more pleasant in this aircraft, I decided that allowing the VSI rate to be adjusted on the VSI gauge itself might be useful. This is also true to life. Unfortunately, the area on the bottom right where there is an "R" knob (rate?) is not accessible, but there are two possible approaches that work. If you fly with Instrument Reflections off, you can control it with the mouse wheel, right on the gauge. If you have them on, as I do, the best location I have found, is the upper left corner of the MFD (which I have replaced by a GTN750). So, if you are in the mood.. as a follow on to my GTN/MFD …

not really a fix, but may help. The cabin pressure setup is difficult to adjust. I now can get it every time. Go to the view where you are looking down on the adjustment console, throttles need to be out of the way first. Turn on all the knobs and switches. Then place the cursor hand with the finger on the letter N of the word cabin. The engines may need to be spooling up. That's when I usually set up my cabin pressure. I get this to work by using the wheel on my mouse. 2. Power,, or lack of. This is no mystery to most people. Go into the citation folder, make a back up copy of the configuration. Open and scroll down to thrust scalar 1. Change this line to - thrust scalar…

When I am in a long flight, with the autopilot engaged and the sim sped up to 16x, the engines randomly shut down, and the controls get locked up. This happens only occasionally, maybe like every other flight or so. It is really annoying. I really enjoy the aircraft & it's model and it works great, except for this. Also, this may be a problem on my end, but when I am departing a dense area with the citation (Like NYC) the sim crashes about 5 minutes into the flight. I have a very good system that is definitely capable of handling the citation and the dense scenery. The strange thing is is that this doesn't happen with other aircraft. Even aircraft more complex tha…

Carenado documentation being what it is (!), I thought these two tips may be useful ;- 1). Here is the location of the fuel cut-off switches, necessary for engine start, and cut-off; CLICK TO ENLARGE THE PICS 2). There is an incorrect tool-tip designation on the Citation. The Altitude Selection indicator wrongly shows "Vertical Speed Selection". This annunciator is definitely relating to Altitude Selection, not V/S. Vertical Speed is set using the purple bug on the VSI; Hope these help. My initial impression of the CII is that I LOVE IT !!...... As soon as I heard the battery fans, I knew Carenado had notched things up a le…

Hey guys, Here is a link for the S550 Type Certificate Data Sheet which gives lots of useful info that is void from the documentation. The S550 info starts on page 21. Also, if anyone is good at making PFPX Profiles, I'd love a profile the her. Matt
