Hello. About a month ago, I got P3Dv4, and I've been using GSX for my flights. The problem is whenever I minimize P3D (I like to go to other windows to pass time while boarding), GSX pauses until I open the window back up. Its very annoying, especially on my 747 flights with 400+ passengers, where I'm always departing very late because boarding pauses when I go to other windows. I unchecked "pause on task". That was one of the first things I did when I got P3D. Is there something in the GSX settings that is causing it to pause? The simulator doesn't pause but GSX does if that makes sense. Thanks

Hi Everyone, I have ORBX freeware airport pack and at some airport I have grass covering the runway. For example at KCOI https://1drv.ms/u/s!AnIJtsNQ0MJkhACOsKqEEsdkbjzo?e=hmOki7 I have try the ADE->List->Taxi links->Reset All Draw Flags trick then recompile but it does not work. I get the same as the original. I am probably doing something wrong so can anyone point me in the right direction ? many thanks cheers Louis

I keep having issues with scenery, and it's because I'm an ignoramus as to how it's supposed to work. Could someone please pretend I'm extremely stupid (which, at least in this matter, I am 😉 ) and explain it to me? My understanding is that in the scenery tab, whatever's higher on the list takes priority over what's lower on the list. I would think this means that if I download an add-on airport from a freeware designer that doesn't have an installer which does everything for me, if I put that airport at the top of the list, it should negate that airport in the default (or orbx, depending) scenery so that I only see the add-on. Does anyone know what key P3D v4 uses for screen prints? I just noticed I have dozens of screen prints in my Users\Name\Pictures\Prepar3Dv4 Files folder. I didn't create this folder and I deleted it the first time I discovered it. I suspect it is some key I'm using for another P3D app but I can't figure out which one. Any ideas? Thanks ... Richard

The last couple of days every time I load a flight in P3Dv4.5 I get this error message. What panel file is it referring to. I get this with all the A2A aircraft I try to load. If I just click on OK it goes ahead and loads and seems to run OK but still why do I get this error and how to fix it.

So far, as shader addons go, I used PTA, Envshade and REX EF. In my opinion, I get the best visuals if I use REX EF (Auto mode) in combination with PTA (with default MattDavies preset). I know it's a bit redundant to use two shader addons but I have no time and interest to tweak the shaders, I just want to load the addon and fly, and the combination of those two give me pretty much what I want out-of-the-box. I would use just REX EF but I find the effects it provides a bit too subtle. If I throw PTA into the mix I get the visuals I find the most realistic. There are a few issues though. First, the contrast between cloud shadows and sunny areas is too strong. Second, even …

Hello all, has there been a conclusive fix for this flickering screen when addons use True Light? The planes that use TL (including the new Milviz 350i Beta) all suffer from this annoying screen flicker. Searcing forums, all seem to lead to a dead end. Other than installing the latest video drivers (which I have done), is there anything else that can solve this issue?

OK, So im a sucker for the Tristar so I jumped on the Captainsim L1011 (yeah yeah I know..LOL) Tried to add the Flight 1 GTN 750 to it, and it show up and works fine but WILL NOT follow the GPS route no matter what combinations of settings I use. If this thing will follow the INS in FMS mode, theres gotta be a way in the CFG to make it follow even just a standard gps route. Any Help on this would be seriously appreciated!!! Hey guys.....back with another monitor question. 🙂 I posted some things a while back regarding new montior(s), or using a TV etc. I tried the 43" on the desk and it was just too close for what I was looking for. I ended up getting a new desk, and the 24"s became too small. 🙂 I'm now sitting with a standard 27", and now I need to get two more 27's. I'm thinking for the main monitor I'll get a 27" 2560x1440 and run Prepar3d in that. I like to have a monitor for charts/maps, and then another one for internet surfing while flying. When running 2k resolution, is it important to look for a 144hz monitor, or will the 75 suffice at the 2k? Also will having …

I noticed in at least 4.2 and 4.3...that it's not shutting down...Reason I know is when I boot up to latest windows 10 that the start up screen for P3dv4.3 comes up automatically and chase plane and stb data and UTLive all start there rounds. Anyone else have this issue? I always give it time before shutting down.the computer. Who wants to run the task manager everytime to make sure something is not running before finally getting to the shut down button..what a drag 😦 Thanks for any helpful advice. BobM.

Impossible to activate prepar 3d v 4.5. Everything perfect, download and installation, but when I click the activation box, it closes the programe and stops working. No message from windows cannot execute, nor error code or anything. I have followed all the technical recommendations for downloading and installation (run as administrator, no firewall, no antivirus, no usb, update all drivers, etc.) and I have not been able to find a solution after several days of many downloads and installations. Can anybody help me ? Thank you

Since installing the latest Windows 10 update (or rather, since it installed itself) I can no longer start EF or SF. I have checked administrator right. It briefly loads (appears for about 5 seconds in Task Manager) then it disappears. Any ideas?

I just purchased the Saitek Multi Panel and Switch Panel and really like them. My problem is that they don't play nice with the A2A aircraft, which I also love. I don't want to install the 3rd party software that brings the panels and A2A together. Please suggest a good quality C172 or 182 to use instead of the A2A aircraft. Thanks a lot,

Just started messing with AIG. Enjoying it so far. But the traffic it generates isn't very smart. The planes taxi into each other all the time. They also like to taxi through my airplane from behind. Is this normal behavior, or is there a way to make them avoid each other (and me)?

So i was trying to upgrade the standard definition textures of the Coolsky DC-9 to 4k using an AI upscaler. And it works fine, the textures themselves look beautiful. However, the textures refuse to appear in P3D. The native resolution of the textures is 1024 x 1024 and i upscaled it to 4096 x 4096. I exported it as a .jpg from the original texture using Photoshop, upscale the textures, (because the program i use cannot upscale .DDS files) then put it into photoshop and then export it back as a .DDS. And it works fine, but it will appear black in P3D. I have a 1080p monitor, but I'm improving the texture resolution, so I won't necessarily need a 4K monitor (at least i don…

Hello, i recently had to uninstall then reinstall several scenery files, including all of my Orbx files (i have most of them). now a new problem. my load times into the sim are now 30-45 minutes. almost all of this time is taken between the 70-80% part of the load which cooresponds with "loading auto generated scenery" i have lowered my auto gen options but it has not helped. any reason for the rediculous load times?
