Hi everyone I am having a problem with my GF-MCP and Prepar3d V2 Once I am in the cockpit if I touch any of the dials on the GF-MCP the system will crash with this error FSX-Module Data Bridge has stopped working The sim will carry on working but it renders all my GoFlight modules inoperable I will mention that all the other modules work fine until I touch the GF-MCP and then I get the error To give you a heads up I am using the latest software from GoFlight ... Pete Dowson's latest FSUIPC for Prepar3d V2 also .... when I go to the GoFlight config manager the GF-MCP shows up fine and is programmable Oh ... and I have pointed the modules to …

Hello guys, several months i bought Active Sky 2012 and installed on Prepar3d 1,4, one day i started AS 2012 and will not open in a window sayng: A critical error Occurred: Application failed to load The root elemnt is missing I tried to unistall and reinstall and it is not changed anything, so i thought that the download was damaged and no longer usable; I have since bought new AS 2012, I downloaded all the file and when it restart still does not open and introduced the same window: I have basically spent more money without solving the problem. If anyone can help me to solve it thanks.

Is anyone else noticing that the internal engine sounds are not very good on port overs from FSX? I have ported over the a Duke and the Carenado 206 which both had excellent internal sounds in FSX but sound horribly 'flat' in V2.

I was landing at 1S2 when in front of me a Ai Mooney makes an inverted pass into the trees then bounces out of them inverted does a half roll and climbs straight up with contrails coming from his wing tips quite a pilot I must say haha. Needless to say I went around for fear this guy might hit me.

Has anyone heard or asked when SP3.2 will be available. This update is necessary if you fly the NG out of FSDT KJFK to avoid a crash of the couatl engine in the scenery. ps. this should be obvious but I'm referring to the update for Prepar3D. It is out for FSX.

FSDT claims all it's installers were updated on Nov 27th to automatically detect P3Dv2. I own KORD, KLAX, and GSX. So far, only the GSX installer detected P3Dv2. KORD and KLAX gave no prompt for P3Dv2, they just installed by default into my FSX directory. Anyone else seeing this?

  11. Started by MarkSC,

I had my first OOM ever today (never had one in FSX). I'm running Win 8.1 (64 bit), so there should be 4 GB available VAS. After the OOM, I recreated the flight and set up FSUIPC to log the available VAS. It showed 1.1 GB free VAS when the OOM occurred. Task manager showed the same. So, the question is, why I am I getting an OOM with less than 3 GB VAS usage? I was flying the Real Air Duke around Edinburgh with FTX Global. I have a GTX 780 (3 GB), and VRAM usage was under 2 GB. Has anyone else seen this or know a solution? Is it just a rogue OOM from FTX or the Real Air? My P3D settings are reasonable (4.5 LOD, 1024x1024 textures, etc.).

I have read the various posts on P3D improvements. I tried a few and either saw no meaningful results or, in the case of Sweet, the program menu system became very slow. Since I had yet not adjusted anything in Sweet I never thought it was the problem but I uninstalled Sweet and V2.0 is working just fine. My advice is wait for the first update and enjoy what you have. Lots of sliders to fiddle for amusement. My FPS were not the greatest, which is why I entered fiddle world in the first place. I kept seeing people with i5 2500K CPUs at 4ghz or higher. Mine ran very hot at 4.0ghz. I always suspected the interface between the CPU and the Zalman air cooler. Too lazy t…

Guys, I've been trying to solve this little conundrum for a few days... I recently made the switch from FS9 (and FSInn) to P3D and SB4, but I cannot seem to get SB4 to insert weather into P3D. Is there an installation step I missed? Or - to prove my sanity - does P3D not allow weather to be modified by SB? I've been looking all over these forums and others, but to no avail... (so cue the guy that manages to find something I missed). Thanks! Sam

I turned off vsync & triple buffering in P3D but turned on 1/2 vsync & triple buffering in the Nvidia panel. Also turned FXAA on in Nvidia and off in P3D and I think I am getting better results. I'd love to know how others have theirs configured and if this makes sense? Thanks, Howard

I never imagined I would experience one of those “I’m lucky to be alive” moments in a flight simulator! I live about 30 miles from Heathrow and today the weather was overcast with heavy cloud. With the advent of Active Sky Next, my plan was to first get my AS2012 working with P3D so that when ASN is optimised for it, I have something to compare with. That’s why I made the video. After a little bit of fiddling, I set up P3D with Maximum cloud cover and switched on volumetric fog. Started the flight and let the weather inject. Quite impressive I thought (never seen this much overcast in FSX, although I’ve heard it does now with ASN,) so time to do a quick circuit …

  16. Rather than try to reinstall one by one..I simply changed the p3d scenery file and added the entries..e.g. PNW and the airports like KBVS etc. But I am seeing a strange anomaly..where the trees have building textures.. Any idea what is the best way to do this other that wait for Orbx for their reinstall program for each of these sceneries?

This is kind of hard to explain, but on the second screen from the left in the bottom left under "VOR1" and above the NM indication beneath it, I have a mess of characters going crazy. The green line indicating my heading for navigation on my artificial horizon also bounces around, like it's trying to find a navpoint that isn't working or something. I have NAVDATA installed, and while I selected prepar3d during installation of the airbus, the navdata install only sees it under "FSX", even though it's in the prepar3d directory path. Are these two problems linked? It's really annoying.

Good evening, I havent bought and installed P3Dv2 yet but I'm going to start it tomorrow. As mentioned here (http://forum.avsim.net/topic/426926-p3d-v2-master-compatibility-list/) the Airbus is compatible, but is there anything important to know how to install it? The installer doesn't offer a P3Dv2 option.

Given how well the engine seems to handle terrain and autogen (and the fact I'm getting a bit impatient for the full-fat ORBX region installers ) I decided to load up New York City X to see if made any difference there... Results? Pretty damn amazing. I'd be getting a 10-15 FPS slideshow in FSX with my hardware, but here I'm getting between 20-30 FPS (even with hi-res textures and aircraft / building shadows enabled). This is me plonked atop the Met Life building! Granted, this scenery is still not fully V2 ready (a few black textures temporarily appear on buildings), but things sure are promising.

Ok, I am seeing many posts where the poster speaks of using 4096 or 2048 textures, but many of the posts that mention the use of these textures, do not mention that they are actually have these texture sizes installed. i.e. via rex clouds or others. I do not believe that the default textures used in p3d as an example, are availble in the larger texture size,s and for the most part, are 1024. Just curious as some seem to think that they are benefitting from turning up the texture size, even though those sizes are not available. Bob

I still remember driving 100 miles to get my copy of FSX as all the local stores were sold out. Now after 7 years of learning how to configure it and with the many addons and now on my 5th computer build, FSX is finally at the stage where it runs in a performant fashion with a high level of realism. Now, after all these years I now have an upgrade to FSX to play with called P3D Version 2.0. After some initial trials (haven't reached the tribulations yet) I want to offer a few observations to try to gain a perspective outlook on Flight simulation and the future of this exciting hobby. 1) FSX remains as a testament to an excellent flight simulation architecture t…

What does this button offer in terms of options? Are you able to pick any location (altitude etc) to set up an approach scenario? I currently have FSX Instant Approach and looks like P3D may already have something similar built in.
