What can you tell me about it? I am tempted to give it a try :-) Looks wonderful, and from the features description it looks like it can be a great flyer... Opinions welcomed!

Has anyone tried Prepar3D on an AMD processor I'm currently running a Intel G860 dual core and it runs FSX ok, looking to move up processors and buy Prepar3D v2 but the cost of an i5 seems excessively high to be considering it's a mid range processor. AMD looks good value but I know their performance is lower than Intel. With the move of load off the CPU to the graphics card would AMD be an OK choice?

Just some additional comments about the compatibility of Dodosim 206. It's not that easy to install in P3D v2 even with EMT because the FSX or P3D v1.4 installation may get damaged/uninstalled. It's better to move all the Dodo stuff manually. The Dodo 206 use the gauges of Bell206B (Jetranger) FSX standard version which is not in P3D v2. This aircraft has to be moved too but it's easy to be done. My experience is that many times the 2D panels wont show and sometimes the automatic start procedure in level 1 fails. I think I may have found a bug. When in teh sound settings, If I choose my sound card (creative Blaster) for all sounds, and select my Headset (logitech USB) for all ATC etc... It saves, but does not become effective. Then when I go back to the sounds settings screen, it has defaulted back to defaults?! Anyone else experience this?

After a while playing P3D, the ATC voice disappeared from the game. I really can't say what caused it. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, and this is just an observation, not something I can reproduce with certainty, it seems the program become unstable if I switch sound drivers away from default to to my headset... I played with the headset last night and it crashed to desktop three times out of three. Very unusual for P3D. The only thing I can think of was the sound drivers.

Do I just copy the aircraft & panel files from FSX to P3D to bring the default Cessna 172 to P3D V2? Thanks, Howard

Good Lord... I'm sitting on 07 w/ engines running in the RA Duke, REX weather, and notice a huge jump in frames just by having a mouse-click drop down menu displaying. The amazing thing is you can fly w/ this open and retain the huge frame rate increase. The same happened when I took this to KSEA area, only lower numbers: about 28-29 on 34R then up to 52 or so w/ a drop down menu displaying. I have all the DX-11 features maxed except shadows one notch back from Ultimate, and I do have vegetation and all other shadows on. Perhaps it's a red herring and the fraps counter miscounted? Interestingly, the mouse pointer performance penalty which is very prominent …

I was able to set the axes on the yoke, throttles and rudder pedals, but I cannot set the axis for the trim wheel. Any suggestions? Thanks, Howard

Hi simmers, I'm very new to the whole flight sim world but have recently invested heavily in hardware. I need to make a decision within the next couple of weeks on which flight sim software to use, FSX or P3DV2. I plan to use it to run an Engravity MiP probably with ProSim737 or the SimAvionics suite. The rig is an over clocked I7, with 16Gb RAM, SSDs, Nvidia 770 and 64 bit Win 7. Clearly P3D ought to be the obvious choice but I've noticed that as experience grows with it more people seem to be finding serious bugs. Bottom line: is P3D2 ready and stable enough to run it in a training environment or should I use FSX to start with whilst waiting for P3D to…

I have never ever EVER installed new drivers and gained SO much. In total I've gained a 29% increase in FPS!!! To say I'm gob smacked is an understatement. Its like I've gone out and brought a new GPU. The difference in performance is astounding. Not just performance but smoothness. My whole system feels like it's not mine. I thought P3D was good, now I think its AMAZING. I have an AMD HD7950 nothing blistering but reasonable. I have been running the 13.4 drivers. Hello folks, Just installed V2 last night, and looked around new interface - I was disappointed that the ATC is still not transparent. During the building of V2, LM has stated that they were addressing the problem.... Is this something that may be "fixed" in the next sp1 release? Thanks so much, Tom

Hi, everybody A question about how Orbx manages its installed sceneries in FSX. When installing some sceneries ( it can be a region or an airport ) Orbx adds some lines in "dll.xml" file located in : C: \ Users \ Name \ AppData \ Roaming \ Microsoft \ FSX These lines refer to " Objectflow_xxx.dll " file , dedicated to the installed scenery , and which is in the folder named "scenery" of the scenery : (example for airport 2WA1, the file is called Objectflow_2WA1.dll and is located in X: \ FlightSim X \ Orbx \ FTX_NA \ FTX_AA_2WA1 \ Scenery ) What are the role or function of these dll files, which heavily penalize fps FSX by their successive additions in d…

Purchased the Flightbeam airports to try out in P3Dv2. Installed in a snap. Get good FPS but what I am seeing, using KPHX as an example, is no aircraft shadows on the taxiway grounds. See them on the runways and I even see them in the taxiway centerlines. Can anyone who has tried them can confirm this or is it just my setup? thx, Clutch Looks like a double-post. I have posted this in the official support forum with no replays. What has happened is that I have installed the demo and discovered that FSX airports in the desert areas now have green patches, this seems to be related to the immediate area of the airport/tiles, see attached pic. KEDW, KRNO, KLAS ...all such airports have the same issue. I did uninstall using demo uninstaller but the issue persists. Did anyone experience this?

I wrongly posted my thoughts on this in another thread due to Friday night distractions. Huge apologies to that thread. After about 3-4 days running FPS limited within the sim. And a week unlimited, I'm now running them limited to 33 externally. What are everyone's views on which performs better? Not FPS wise, but from a smoothness aspect.

For some reason I have problem creating an account over at the Prepar3D site should I decide to buy Prepar3D v2, anyone else had any issues with this? At first a couple of days ago when I did my first attempt to register all seemed OK but then I never received any password nor confirmation email and now if I try to register again I get a message I already registered. I have also tried clicking the 'Recover password' link and then I'm told a confirmation link has been sent to my email but again...nothing in my inbox and of course I've also checked my spam folder.

Unfortunately, just I was agout to try out another add on in Prepar3d my Graphics card gave way. It wasn't the best, a GTX 560 that was holding me over until the future of flight simulation became more clear. Now that there is a future again, and I'm in need of a Vid Card, I wanted to poll the community to see what those in the know think. I'm really not looking to spend a whole lot probably $300 - $400 max. I really don't know how to Vid Card shop so any general advice as far as brands to avoid, or other pitfalls would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Darned. After posting my Back to reality post, I installed OpusFSX because the new beta has an option for the Volumetric fog. Great! So I set up a flight for my A2A C172, took of towards a sky filled with clouds and after a minute... And that after in fact lowering my settings...! Now this error may be due to OpusFSX (adding too much clouds maybe? Or perhaps OpusFSX is buggy?) but still... this is a big show stopper, of course. If going Back to reality brings me Back to hell... I am losing hope fast. Never ever had this in FSX. I own a GTX580 and maybe a GTX780 will solve this but who can guarantee that? Bummer. Hi folks, I just put in a new 500Gig VRaptor, just for a dedicated P3d v2, naming the drive P: I installed as administrator v2 to P:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D V2 - About 5 minutes into the install I get the error message - "Installation Error 0x8007064c" and have to abort install. I have FSX/P3D v1.4 all running well on this pc and pc is in excellent condition. Using a 570 Classified 4gig gpu - checked DXdiag and have DX11 installed and working. I'm only running MSE so no virus protection is in play. I installed from C: to the P: drive. I did check at the Prepar3d Forums to no avail. Put the same thread in and no hits. Any ideas what I need to do?? …

Hello Everyone, I'm new to the forums, and this is my first post! How exciting! Anyways, I just bought Prepar3D v2.0 and love the sim, but visual performance is poor for me. I used to get fantastic results in FSX with Nvidia Inspector and cfg tweaks. With Prepar3D v2.0, not so much. I have searched the forums for any advice as to why this might be happening, but no luck. I have tried turning off FXAA, but that gives a lot of jaggies, and MSAA does very little for my system. Any help would be appreciated. If it's not to much to ask, can anyone please take a picture of their settings in Nvidia Inspector and Prepar3D v2.0 so I can use them as a reference point? I hope I …

It seems agreed that one gets better fluidity and frame rate with the more powerful GPU but what about VRAM, I wonder whether there's an actual difference between a 3 Gb (780) and 6Gb card (Titan) ?

I've taken the plunge and P3D is now the only Flight Sim on my machine. As of yesterday I have it running with all that I need so far. VoxATC v6 is up and running. Same for the LD 767 I'm using FSrealWX Lite for weather. I have my VR Insight M Panel and a homebuilt switch box working. Cheers.
