All releases have some issues, and I usually install, see or read about thie issues and then quietly await a patch or some user fix.This bird is excellent and has great potential. Which must be why I'm stealing time from my work every 30 minutes to read the new or changed messages in the PMDG forum, awaiting any tidbits of news from the group on the issues that come with the NG. I have the frame-rate isues with the VC and Pax Cabin only, also some wierd A/P actions- although some hints on setting up the FMC and systems would be cool too- but I'd much rather have the group address the bugs first before releasing "how to's".Keep the good work up guys- anyone else "living"…

Dear Rob and the rest of the PMDG team,Got the aircraft yesterday and absolutely loving it. Randy was right when he kept mentioning about the flight dynamics, and how good they were.I have a childhood buddy of mine who is a Captain on the 700/800 for Jet Airways here in India. After a couple of days he and I are going to sit down and test the package as comprehensively as possible. I will make a list of the observations he makes, albeit, his airline uses the EFIS/MAP display. I will also keep in mind FS limitations. Are autopilot variables extractable VIA FSUIPC like HDG, BRG, SPD etc??? Would it be or could sometime be compatible with some hardware for us COckpit builders.THanks.Roberto

In map mode, I'm seeing some really strange arcs for turns. I was set up KBOS-LUCOS-SEY-PARCH-CCC-ROBER-KJFK and took off 22L. I was in heading select on 140*. First, heading select overshot the turn from 215 to 140 all the way to 120! Then it came back to 140. I selected LUCOS on the legs page, set an INTC of 200, and armed LNAV. LNAV immediately took over and it showed the proper 140, and then turn toward LUCOS on the map.When the turn started, the strangeness in the attached pics took over. After another flight I found a couple more points worthy of mentioning (IMHO). I'd appreciate it if someone from the team would actually comment on this list and on my other post "My observations"Anyway, here it goes:- There seems to be a discrepancy between the "Fuel used" indication on the undocked engine display and the docked display! On one the indication remained constant throughout the flight at 0.83. The other display showed the correct value. I'm using the metric system.- The background noise is only activated after switching off the Stby power and reactivating it. I assume it should be running the entire time when you load the panel.- I wonder what the logic is …

Hi all,I'm pretty certain I've resolved the low frame rate problem. It seemed to be memory related although there was suspicion amongst some that it was related to nVidia graphics cards. It's neither although the large amount of memory being used by the 737 does need to be addressed.So what did I do? I changed from a fixed page file of 770Mb to letting Windows determine the size. Result? Hugely improved frame rates. Before I was getting 6.6fps at Meigs, now I'm getting 16.5 with exactly the same setup. Although a large amount of memory is still being used and the page file is still huge none of this seems to impact on frame rates.So for those of you that thought fixed swa…

Hi,I have been looking with interest at the new 737 that has just been released, and was amazed to read that the product needs some sort of activation after installation. I dont see registering (activating) software a problem, but this process that has been devised just seems so tedious and time confusing, and judging by some threads, a little awkward. The idea of transferring a licence key if you reformat etc, just seems a little OTT. We have this sort of problem with operating systems, now it comes down to specific addons!!! :-madI have never shied away from spending a few pounds on addons for Fs, but I must admit that this way of 'registering' software has put me off …

Maybe I have a clue to the frame rate problem - it may be memory usage related. Now that I'm flying... like others have reported here, I start with normal (16fps) frame rates and then suddenly it all goes blooey and I'm down at 1-2 fs thereafter. I'm using the base 600 with no VC, and this is on a P4 3.05GHz system with 512Mb memory and Win 2K SP3.Using task manager I noticed an odd thing. When I start my m/c with no appls running TM reports 149Mb Total Commit Charge. Start FS with a non-PMDG plane and this rises to 359Mb - in other words FS2K takes about 200Mb memory to run. Reasonable. Now switch to PMDG 737 and this figure jumps to from 359 to a constant 671Mb wi…

I experience rather good frames but when I'm one second from touchdown I get a short freeze or hickup. Anyone else see this too.

Hi folks!In the process of creating a number of SIDs and STARs I came across some fly over waypoints. Please let me know how to add this specific information to a waypoint in a SID or STAR! Morning All,After some trial and error attempts I have manage to create SID and STARS using as an example the LSGG and LSZH files that come with the 737.The First SID took me about 3 hours :-) until I manage to make it work as expected. The rest was writen very easy afterwards.My Basic question is is it necessary to start each part with KEEP HDG or HDG? At LGAV all SID from 03R say Intercept radial 038 from SPA until 1100 then turn left intercept RADIAL 086 to KRO VOR.If i write this as SID KEPIRXX RNW03L KEEP HDG INTERCEPT 038 FORM NAVAID SPA UNTIL 1100If I execute That at the FMC i get a point taht is exactly behind me and the a/c turns left to intercept it after depart…

Hello,Has anyone notice that the 737NG is underpowered on takeoff. In the DF 737 I'm able to take off at max weight in roughly the first third of the runway. 737NG I am barely able to get off with 3/4 of the runway length (KPDX, KSEA) main runways.BillyBooob

Is there a way to load an FMC saved flight plan rather than reload waypoints each time? I did save the flight via the SAVE lsk and it exists in the PMDG plans folder but I can't load it with the FMC up and running.

I have not found a way to open the airstairs yet, I'm using the correct model but I don't know which button combo it is. I've tried them all. Also do the cargo doors open and the cockpit windows? :)

Here are a couple of observations I made today and would like to share them with you:- It seems the APU fire handle on the pedestal does not function. After pulling it, the APU continues to run.- The IDG disconnect switches on the overhead don't disconnect the generators.- It is impossible to enter anything into the LEGs page when airborne and after the route has been cleared. Same happens if you take off with no ORIG/DEST filled out on the RTE page. Big problem as the FMC does not model missed approaches, thus will clear the route anytime you go around and as of that you no longer have the FMS available for navigation :-(-As described above, no waypoint can be added afte…

I have had notable problems before with certain revisions of their cards drivers. Some have brought FS2002 to its knees while others shine. I have found my optimal version. Hello fellow simmers,My system is as follows P4 2.4 533FSB, Soyo 4XAGP MB, Radeon 9500 128mb, PC 2700 512mb, 160G HD.On anticipation of the release of FS 2004, and the new PMDG 737NG.Buy 737NG!!:) I'm looking at up grading the video card to the Radeon 9800 pro 256mb or 9800 pro 128mb. What should the differences be with regard to FS. The price gap is widening 128mb can be bought for as low as $280, while the 256 is dropping to $475. Also I only have 4X AGP, I have heard 4 X is same as 8X is this true or should I get an ASUS MB with 8X AGP.Should I upgrad to 1gig ram?Any advice would be appreciatedRegards,BillyBooob
