I was having micro stuttering issues on a new I7 7700K no matter what affinity I tried. The drivers supplied with the motherboard don't seem to be enough. Hi, Just asking all the 7700k owners, did you see a good boost OCing to 5ghz? My current system is: 5930k @ 4.5 Titan XP 3000mhz DDR4 RAM 240GB nVME SSD. 1440p monitor. I know it's a 0.5ghz boost, will it make much of a difference? 6 vs 4 core variable in the mix too. Thanks for your help James

Hi everyone, I've just built my first PC using an intel 7700K. I bought a coolermaster tx3 EVO for the air cooling as I won't overclock it for the moment. Now I'm confident I got the built done mostly right but have some worries about the cooling. I put a blob of thermal paste on the CPU then spread it with a spatula before placing the cooler & heatsink on. It didn't quite seat the first time but I got it there. After testing it out a bit I'm worried the temps are a bit high. Idle its anywhere from high 30's C but after a few mins of FSX temps can peak in the 80's however game performance is great. Hi All I have an issue with my SanDisk 120gb SSD that has stopped working properly. Bit of background - it is not my windows drive, BIOS recognises it fine as does device manager. My computer sees it and I can open it and see the folders but all the folders are empty. If I click on properties, the used space and free space is accurately shown. Disk manager shows it as healthy although not active? If I right click and mark as active it says cannot find the file specified. Minitool partition wizard shows it as a bad disk read only and if I try to recover partition it shows the partition status as lost/damaged but when I try to recover nothing happens. Any idea…

A guy on the Asus ROG forum reckons he has a retail sample of the 7700K running at 5.0 GHz at 1.35 Volts. Easy overclock no issues. It might be a one off super chip that's top of the silicone lottery but interesting all the same. I'm looking a little early as I won't do this until later in the year, but what do we know about what's coming along for P3D that will help P3D perform as good as possible? What OS? What CPU? How useful is SLI for P3D in 2017? I currently am using a nearly 5 y/o system I assembled using SB-E at 4.422 Ghz on air, 32Gb of DDR-3@2400Mhz, and an single original flavor GTX Titan, Win 7. I am hoping that I could get some suggestions from you all on what kind of storage set ups are being utilized on your rigs. I am beginning a "gradual" upgrade of my current rig ([email protected], Gigabyte Z68X-UD4-B3, 1TB Hitachi HDD, 8GB DDR3, ASUS ROG 1070 - new) and am looking at storage as my next upgrade. I use FSX-SE and XP11 and currently have my current drive partitioned with work on C and fligntsim on F. My original thinking is that I would use a 500GB M-2 card for the OS and maybe a 1TB 2.5 for flight sim?

My computer specs are in my signature, just FYI. Tonight I was going to do some testing with hyperthreading. I normally run with it off. When I entered the BIOS, it said that "hypethreading not supported." I know this isn't true because I have an i7 3770k, and I have enabled HT before. Nonetheless, I enabled it anyway. But when I opened both task manger and CPU-Z, only 4 threads were shown to be active. So, I went back into BIOS and decided to bump my CPU from 4.5 GHz to 4.6 GHz just as a test. CPU-z said my CPU was running at 4.5 even though I set it the multiplier at 4.6. Something is up with my BIOS. Any ideas? Solutions?The BIOS version is the most current, FYI.

Today was a sad day. Received my new desktop, first one in 8 years to replace my loyal i7 920 build. Ordered the works...7700k, 1080 gtx etc. and spent a pretty penny (USD 2500). Seems a better design to me too, easier to operate.
