Hello, im fairly new to the broadband game, and im now trying to set up a wireless network. However im experiencing a few problems. I believe i've followed the instructions to the letter, but im getting no joy in getting an active internet connection.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/110468.jpgFrom this pic, what do the buttons do circled in blue? there is no reference to them in the instruction manual. Also, i find it strange that the adsl line shows a connection at 2MB, but why does the status state no connection?? As i say, if followed the instructions and the setup wizard, but no joy :-(Can anyone help?Cheers

FS has become choppy lately so I did an AVG virus scan and it flagged the following files:kernel32.dllwsock32.dlluser32.dllshell32.dllntoskrnl.exeThe menu is somewhat unclear but it appears to recommend changing, and in the next column says that has been done. I've done two scans now with the same results. Does anyone know what this means? The AVG site was not helpful. Thanks,Todd

Hi all,i would love to run AA in FS, but my frames would suffer severly. I have a few other games that arent near as hard and heavy as fs, and i believe i could run AA in them without a problem. I have the Omega drivers, and inorder to install then, had to remove the ATI Control Panel. Is there a way for me to turn on AA without clicking it on in the game of reinstalling ATI CCC?Thanks.. :-wave

Hi Guys.I upgraded due to a faulty IDE port on my last mother board. I decided I'd take the plunge and get the AMD 64 3500+ processor and an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum mb. Now I was wondering if anyone had a similar set up that would be able to assist me in setting up the bios and machine to get the best out of FS9.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi Guys,I am presently using a P4 2.2 400 mhz 1 gig ram with a Raedon 9600 at 1024x768.The computer is about 3 yrs old.I am using the PSS PMDG LDS and Active Sky addons with Chris clouds.I get more stutters than I am comfortable with.I am thinking about upgrading to a HP computer with an Athlon 64 3400and a Raedon 800XT. Would I see a night and day difference? Should I be concerned about the MOBO in the HP?Seems like a good deal for $895.00.Thanks,Astro

Hi folks, here are some details from the hard- and software world you might 'enjoy'. 1st, over 70 % of the corporate computers running winXP are still on SP1! See the article here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/04/04/sp2_survey/2nd, new DRAM types are in the baking ehhh making which sound very interesting, here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/03/31/to...pida_512mb_xdr/and here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/04/04/ra...icro-threading/Multithreding, dual cores, microthreading, hyperthreading, very extreme, even extremer, zero power consumption... What else do we want? Good luck and kind regards Jaap

My current system is a 1.1ghz AMD Athlon processor, 16mb Nvidia graphics card, 128mb SDRam. Now I miss flight simming, and Vatsim, and I want to get back at it. Reason why I haven't been on it is because of this rig. FS2002 runs pretty bad on it. Jaggedy planes, sometimes the flight is not smooth as if it lags or warps. Graphics don't look good at all. Now my friend is giving me a free GF 4200 card. Would you say that would help me out tremendously over the 16mb card I have now? I hope it will give me smoother gaming in FS, along with better graphics, and will support some of what I throw at it such as scenery, and plane add-ons from 3rd party. This is until I build my n…

Had a spare floppy drive, so tried to install it as a "B" drive like in the old days.I cannot get my system to recognize two floppy drives. both drives work fine as a single "A" drive, but I cannot get recognition from the second plug on the floppy cable. I also see no provisions in my cmos bootup options for such an animal. Setup for new hardware just recognizes the single drive as well saying it is working properly, but will not detect the second drive.Has this provision been deleted in the newer MB's bios or Windows XP?No biggy, and this has become more of a curiosity question than anything else. While I had my case open and was installing a new DVDRW/CDRW unit, I thou…

Well it came back again, the dreaded CTD, just when I thought it was solved. So, let me stage how this developed, and maybe someone will hit on the solution. -Clean, default install. I ran the sim like this for a few days with no problems.-Replaced some default AI with FSP, Aardvark, and PAI models. Used a Tomkiewicz Learjet and Gulfstream in place default Learjet. I didn't add to the TTool generated aircraft list, just substituted. No problems.-Using KPHX only as experimental airport, I added KPHX (Richard Mohammed)AFCAD2 with AFCAD 2.21. I added AI flights with TTools 2.02. Everything still OK-Added Wings of Power WW2 bombers set. This comes with an installer that also a…

  15. ...that is the question. I'm setting up a new system with an Athlon64 3400 CPU and a pair of 200gb SATA drives, and I'm debating whether or not to configure the drives in a RAID level 0 setup or not. I've built a lot of systems before, but always with the standard single HD, so I've got no experience with RAID at all. I'd appreciate it if someone with more experience in this arena could answer a couple of quick questions for me...1. Is a RAID 0 setup noticably faster to load, say, textures in FS9 than a single HD?2. I know that level 0 RAID offers no redundancy, so the data isn't protected in any way should one of the drives fail. But is it much riskier to use this type o…

Hello All:Am looking at a purchase I made and am wondering whether I should return it before I open the boxes. A little background:I have been running a Barton 2500+ @2.17 for two years and it has been my best dollar/performance CPU I have ever had. I saw a dual channel kit of 3200 HyperX on sale for $100 (2X512), so I jumped on it and tried to run the barton @ 2.2, but no go! Well, I decided to move up to an A64, after all, it has been two years, but now I hear conflicting stories about the S939 I bought with the Gigabyte K8N. First of all, my dealer suggested this combo for future upgrades, but now I see on Gigabyte's website that the the K8NSN may not run 90nm chips. T…

I mean -- I am talking 200 GB's of flight simulator here -- I have spent the last few years making my sim literally as real as it CAN get considering the available resources and it REALLY…
