Starting fresh with FS9. I've installed my FS Genesis, and UT USA an CAN. Now considering purchasing a texture addon. What do you recommend ?

Well, Im looking into adding a few more add-ons because fsx as many others is out of the question for some time to come. I'm looking for a ga aircraft and have one in mind. Im looking at the cirrus by eaglesoft, I read there min requirements and they seem pretty steep. Can anyone tell me how this GA compares to say PMDG 737 and LDS767 or even the aeroworx B200?I've used aircraft that ask for higher specs than my pc ca handle and they ran fine, however im not sure on the cirrus by eaglesoft.Another question, I was going to post this question in a new thread but figured might as well just ask here, Seriously, how good is fs2crew for the lds767. There are big texture blocks off the coast of southwest Australia just a hundred or so miles north of Perth. I am not sure if this is caused by scenery or whether its like that in the default. I have Perth scenery installed but have heard that any scenery can cause this if it has some issues, how do I find out whats causing the problem?Thanks

I wish to install a 2nd copy of fs2004 on my computer to use as a testing base for addons as I have just gone through the bad experience of reinstallation. When I have tried to do this in the past the Install command on the fs2004 CD Gui is grayed out requiring uninstalling first.Has anybody done this and how?.Richard

OK , FSuX is going to have to wait for a good while ! In the meantime I want to upgrade my FS9 to keep me entertained for the duration ( however long that is ). I have all the A/C I want , ActiveSky and Radar Contact. What I have not installed are any of the various packages to improve the ground appearence. There are so many that I would appreciate anyone's opinion on which are among the best. I have a fairly high-end setup ( FSuX does not sgree ) so I can run most any and all add-on's.TIA,JimBob"Master of the Sr. Moment"

All of a sudden, all of my instruments that display heading, including the compass, show an incorrect heading. Depending on where I am, it may be off by as much as 30 degrees.I know about the "D" key -- it is not gyro drift. It is not magnetic variation, because we are talking about 30 degrees here at airports where it may be 2-5 degrees. It is so bad that Radar Contact ATC keeps giving me devil for drifting off my assigned heading.I did a search here and it appears that it might be a scenery bgl file from a recent install. However, I have deactivated every add-on scenery back to the original basic MS FS9 install and moved the folders out of FS9. Yet, still I get the…

Hi,Somehow I've lost the keyboard #2 for ATC responses. The key works outside the ATC window for other functions and I've tried a different keyboard. This was working until yesterday, the only thing I've done in the meantime is to install Widefs to run ActiveSky over my network. Does anyone else have a texture roll-up problem when landing at LIMC 2005 from ISD?It only happens on the runways when landing. I have seen this once before on the KCLE scenery, but a fix was issued.Thanks!

Where can I find a list of ALL available commands that can be assigned to Fs9? There are many more when you are in game that what is available in the general keyboard command chart. Example Starter 1 on/off, Starter 2 on/off, etc. etc. I am programming panels that I made myself for my simpit. Can anyone direct me to a list of the complete commands available?ThanksRudolf

After a day with FSX, I'm now back with FS9, what a ride. :-rollI was wondering what would happen if I were to take say the default Airbus from FSX and copy it over to FS9's aircraft folder?Would it work? Minus some FSX features, of course. Has anyone tried yet?

I've been calibrating my mic for vatsim and the playback is very poor. I've tried different mics to no avail. Is this a soundblaster driver (5.1) problem.Thanks

Any ideas where I can get help with real Environment Professional Installation?I have my FS9 in the drive f:FS9And it just wouldn't install there... Is there a manual way to move stuff from another PC? I have this already installed on my old PC. in the regular C:Program files... Hello everyone,I dont knowhow this happened, but spontaneously one day my keyboard has limited functionality with FS9, like i can do some commands like F2 for reverse thrust, but i cant use other keys like W for switching views, Shift 1 through to 9 to switch views, or even the brakes...Could someone please help, ive tried reinstalling fs but it didnt help i guess it might be something in the config of sortsThankyou

I read the Avsim review of this aircraft and decided to give at go. All I can say is WOW. What a great addon. If you're a GA flyer, I highly recommend it. Dave

It's very good news that we've got an FS9 forum, thanks.There's still a few things that I'd like for FS9, particularly the Saab 91 and the Dornier Do-27. I thought I might start a thread listing what's still out there that people haven't yet got but want to acquire, freeware or payware. There's no point me getting FSX, my FS9 looks so good with all the addons and to fly all the planes again just once and revisit all the addon scenery locations would take many hours and the bottom line, my computer's too slow for FSX.John

I've read a couple times that letting just the default MS software do the minimum level of compression on the FS9 directory it will speed things up and in turn look better in the sim. Seeing as how that sounds so counter intuitive and I haven't seen a lot of posts confirming it I wonder what has been the general experience with people for this tweak.It would be great if it worked but I'm just not totally convinced until I hear it a few more times I guess. That would be a real win win situation if it's effective.

HiI run FS9 on a single machineAntec /neo 550w PSUP4/3.02 Gigs Corsair34G Raptor HDRadeon 1900xt crossfire/single card/Cat6.9The problem is that when I go from full screen to windowed to start AS6 and then back to full screen the hourglass just blinks and FS9 freezes to the point that I have to close via taskmanager.I have tried reinstalling vid drivers but this happened as well with my previous vidcard as well.DXDIAG also shows no faults.Can anyone shed light on this problems as otherwise FS9 is running great.Thanks Pete

Thanks to Edward Cook we have an FS9 Hawker Audax, but not the other Hart variants yet. Ten years ago I made about7 models of these by converting the Airfix 1/72nd scale Demon, and also using the Aeroclub resin kit of the Hector. I am posting pics of some of my models here, and hope these will incite someone to make the other variants for FS9 or FSX.

I uninstalled the FSX demo and doing so seems to have deleted my FS9 registry entry under Local MachineSoftwareMicrosoftMicrosoft Games.Now, strange thing is, it still works ... that is, the program itself runs with no problems.However, I can no longer run EditVoicePack and this may also be causing a problem with the WOAI installer for me.Can someone offer an alternate solution to deleting FS9 and reinstalling it... I've got over 250 scenery layers and reloading them all would not only suck generally, it would consume massive amounts of time.Thanks in advance for any sugggestions.

I am using BEV Fall textures, UT USA, and FS Genesis Lanclass. I have them installed like I should ie: used the patch and correct tier method for priority. Have any of you seen this before?

I have Flight Deck III already installed, and am wondering if I can install Flight Deck 4 on top, or should I uninstall FD III first. I'd hate to lose some of the FD III a/c that weren't carried over to the new version, if only for some sentimental reasons (like the Phrog). Has anyone out there done either already? First time I've been here since the changes: a bit of a shock. Is anyone going to look at this forum now? All the FS9 stuff is still over in the FSX forum....Well, testing things out, I wanted to ask if anyone knows if it is possible to specify in a saved flight plan (.pln file) for a flight to start up with no-smoking and seatbelt signs off (or on). If so, what is the syntax and where do the lines go?I saved my default flight with the signs off, but this doesn't seem to affect other saved flights.Martin
