I'm still using a P2.4 which although challenged works well enough for FS2004 if I'm not too demanding and even allows me to use some of the more advanced addons. Recently however the PMDG 737 has been going very slowly in terms of frame rates. Previously I would get in the mid teens on average but it's been dropping into single figures which is pretty useless. Another older post caught my eye about .dlls in the modules folder. Apparently each one is loaded whether needed or not at startup. I thought I try moving the ones I wouldn't need for the PMDG 737 into another folder, there were 21, all from different addons. I have downloaded an addon aircraft (fs9_aircraft_as738.zip) which includes a file for Edit Voice pack the file is called "AS738.vcpmod" can someone please tell me where Im supposed to place this "VCPMOD" file, I do have Edit voicepack installed but Im not sure where im supposed to put this file, it doesnt state it in the instructions either, thank you for your help

Flying away from my usual haunts of Florida and the Caribbean, I usually like to touch down and see what the world (meaning regional Airline Liveries and airports) look like. If there is addon scenery, I like to add it to my Library. I flew into KIAH (Houston), and found it was the Home of Continental Airlines. I didn't know that. A Company called Sim Flyers made a scenery for KIAH. It was supposed to be shareware. I thought, I'll give it a shot if it doesn't cost too much. The scenery has their Logo plastered all over it and seems to be very nice. But they have discontinued selling this Item. What disk can I find the default lightning effects on?(by lightning I mean lightning bolts in thunder storms)

When creating a STAR runway system so that all runways are active, do I use the TRUE heading or MAGNETIC heading to do my calculations or does it matter? I guess as long as I keep the variance between runways at below 7.9 it shouldn't matter?

I recently downloaded the Embraer 110 by Michelle-Angelo Thode. The plane uses the default 737 2D panel, and I am not able to get gauges in the VC. In fact I think not the bitmaps either- just a gray background where the panel is.I have exchanged several emails with Michelle-Angelo. But I still am not sure of the solution, especially for the VC as it looks nice to my eye in the panel folder. (probably just a language problem)I have tried a few things including copying the gauges to the gauges folder, etc.. If anyone can suggest a solution I would appreciate it..

I'm no longer getting full engine RPM on take off in just about all of my non constant prop RPM single engine aircraft (default c172, DF ArcherIII, etc...). I am using the default flight at KSEA, so altitude is not a problem. I'm using a old tried and true CH Yoke of which I have checked the calibration. This problem hasen't occured in any other type of aircraft in the sim. I am at a loss as to what would cause this. Anyone have a clue?Thanks, -R.

I have both Jeppesen Simcharts 3 and 4. You can print and view the charts outside of MSFS regardless of which sim you have there are limitations if you want to view them inflight with your flight route highlighted. Version 3 is via CD (1 or 3 regions per CD and you need 9 regions to cover the world) and for FS2004 only, version 4 is for FSX only and covers the world and you have to be hooked up to the internet to access the database. Both include airport layout charts, IFR approaches, SID and STAR and radar coverage when appropriate to their real world counterparts. They do not cover IFR enroute charts, you do know you can use skyvector.com for those. It is true that…

Hey guys, this problems really bugging me, hopefully one of you can help...I recently upgraded to a new machine and got Vista Ultimate x32 on it. This is my gaming rig, and all games that I play, such as MOHA, BF2, FSX, CoD4, etc, run fine except for FS9. FSX still doesn't run perfectly smooth, so I'd like to stick with FS9, but its not working correctly...FS9 starts up quickly, and I can chose my aircraft and everything, sliders on high, frames are not a problem. When I go onto multiplayer however, it all changes. Soon as the multiplayer chat box is open, jagged lines like crazy appear, frames drops, and FS9 looks like crap. I have downloaded Speechbuddy from Avsim, installed it and I have done some "Speech recognition training".I have started up the default C172 - and the programme seems to work OK. So far , I have been able to tell my co-pilot to lower and raise the flaps.:-) But I am finding that the "readme" file is difficult to follow/understand and am unclear as whether you are supposed to have some kind of INI file for each aircraft type.In general, what I am looking for is some better information/instructions on how to use this programme.It looks like it has great potential.Any assistance much appreciatedThanks Barry

Is there such a thing as overloading your aircraft file. I downloaded a aircraft which shows up in fs9 aircraft. When I go to choose it to fly..............it's not there.What can my problem be? Help plse!:-hang

I have been reinstalling FS9 after a system failure with Vista. Most of it seems to have gone OK but I have found one problems with various chunks of scenry appearing with big white squares around them.This is at Leon Louis's Golden Eagle Air Park (KLL9) ... I'm assuming I've got some setting wrong on my Nvidia video card (I'm using nHancer) but I'd be grateful for any pointers.....

I recently repalced my video card and it shows up OK in FS9's option menu while in the simulation, but when I was editing the .CFG file for a new light set, I noticed that the old video card is still listed in the (Display) section of the .CFG file.Can this be changed to reflect the new video card and how, or will it even cause a problem? Other than the Nvidia AA issue, things work just fine.Kim

I suffered a burnt out motherboard chip that put me out for five days while attempting to diagnose the fault.For five days I have been like a 'fish-out-of-water'! So, It never fails to amaze me when I read threads of people getting bored with F.S.?What's your slant on this. Have you ever had a similar experience guys?

Got a new computer. Big 8800 gts video card, dual core processor and plenty of fast Ram. Yet! When I go to Imaginesims MYNN in Nassau, certain aircraft,(not all) are blurry. This has me befuddled. I'm also using Freeflows Bahamas. This doesn't seem to be any cause in the problem as I still get Blurries when its not loaded. I can go into slew mode, and move up to two aircraft. One will have sharp lines and the colors of the Livery neatly separated. While next to it will be an aircraft with colors blended and fuzzy. I wrote to Imaginesim and they say it's not their problem. I've always had this at MYNN. I do not experience this phenonomen any place else. Until I built this…

I have created a flight plan to fly from Christchurch-Queensland. Each time I try and load the flight the above error appears. Even though I *know* the plane is clearly parked at the gate and is not in conflict with any other object :(I do have a way of getting around it - I just load a flight on the runway at NZCH and then slew the plane into postion at the gate.I make sure its not touching anything and then resave the flight.I can now fly if I want to.However if I reload the flight then..…

I don't have a sound problem. I have VOXATC disk on order and i noticed in the VOXATC Forum Realtek was brought up. Would there be any advantage to me by downloading Realtek and if so what version?Tim:-)

Why do some planes show up as programs in the Control Panel program list? It seems that this would junk up the registry and slow down the power up of a PC.
