My airplanes started to look like a mix of stalagtites, all cones, sharp edges, paperfolds...I reinstalled Fs2004 but still no solution there. The problem appears in the new naked version too.In fsx I do not have this problem.Does anybody has a clue

Have come back to flying the much beloved F1 Meridian after a long break. Does anyone have a copy of the Meridian's landing ground roll chart? This one isn't included in the original manual that comes with the package. Thanks, Lep

Is there some trick to getting FS9 ATC to assign multiple parallel runways for AI and user landings? KATL has 5 parallel runways but ATC invariably assigns I'd say 90% of landings to 8L. This causes more go-arounds than would ever be expected. I've checked the AFCAD and all the runways are ready and open for business. Ideas?Thanks

I just started flying again, and now I'm getting CTD's around KSEA on takeoff. I am experimenting to try and see if I can get it elsewhere. Is there a way to turn on a dome light for the Citation X from FT?

I would like to know your input for the following two questions. What is the best 737NG for FS2004? I want a good FMS (which can be controlled with keyboard commands, as well as keystrokes that can be assigned to various panel operations. I am aware of the PMDG 737 and the FeelThere/Wilco product, but i know very little about both.What would you consider to be the best commercial sim of a Turboprop passenger liner, also for FS2004? Same requirements as above for the 737.I am not the type to just purchase any old thing out there, but I have no problem at all paying whatever is necessary for a good quality product.Can you help me out?Thanks...Jim

Hello simmers,I got a feeling that this has not happened to everyone but I wanted to put this up here just to ram home the importance of having a solid backup of your entire FS9 installation.I uninstalled FSX to make space for some other games I want to play (no big deal Im saving for a stonking new computer and FSX will run great on that one!).I was in for a rude shock once the FSX uninstall was complete.1. FS9 refused to start2. Refused to build a new fs9.cfg3. Did not recognize any aircraft in the /aircraft folder4. Ultimate Terrain (USA, Canada, Europe) did not work5. Textures applied by BEV lost6. I know you can move around in the vc by pressing keys like Ctrl+shift+Enter and what not, but you can only go so far before you can't go any further. And since i do not want to spend money for active camera, is there a way you can edit fs9 that will allow you to move furhter in the vc, so you can go in the cabin like on meljet aircraft?

I was reading the RFP 747 (recently released as freeware) manual which asked me to load the Take-off-calculator to compute the various v1, v2, v3 etc speeds. However, I have not seen this utility installed anywhere in the fs9 folder or subfolders or any of the VMAX folders that the installation creates. I downloaded the RFP file from panelshop.com which is supposed to be same as the one uploaded to avsim. Is this a separate download I can find somewhere ?

My flight Simulator 9.1 keep crashing just before destination... I'm using PMDG 747-400 and DBS Walk & Follow... Anyone know why or what I can do to prevent this ? Appreciate your help...

All my water is green, and the only thing I've changed is that I tried PicNic v.1 grass textures. Flight Environment doesn't even change the water colors any more; changing time of day or season doesn't help either. And it doesn't mater where I am, ocean, river, it's all "grass green" now. I know PicNic supposedly replaces only the Detail1.bmp file, but something is definately wrong now.I have a couple of pristine FS9 installs on other computers I can copy original files from if needed -- can anyone tell me what files would need to be replaced to put this back to "changeable"?Thanks in advance.

I read the NTSB's report on KAL 801 today. It is excellent and provides much food for thought. The sections on weather and the actual crash scenario in Section 2 are detailed and eminently readable, and understandable by a non-pro like me.I just flew a simulation of KAL 801 in a 747-400 (OK, it's not the classic 747-300 model, I know) on my system and you can reproduce it very faithfully in the sim. It is quite scary actually. But very remarkable that you can do so. This is proof yet again of the sim's value as a training tool. What a corundrum! I just took a 55 minute flight from KLAX to KLAS flying for World Airways (FSPassengers).What am I ticked off about? Here is the list:1..Mountains (the San Andreas) so beautifully detailed tens of miles in the distance out my left side as I climb out from KLAX. The Dodger's Stadium so clear and sharply focused, that I could swear there was a crowd inside it.... About those mountains to the North...they looked as real to me as any number of times I have flown into L.A. and seen them at that distance and altitude, less the smog.2. Why does the autopilot vertical speed setting jump to minus 700 or 1000 fps when the Alt button is pressed? Also, the airplane's heading will be locked without activating the Hdg button. I have to activate and deactivate the heading lock to get it to release.

I posted this in the PMDG forum; excuse the "double post," but this is driving me nuts and I'm hoping for a quick resolution so I can watch some baseball & football. Here goes:This started after installing 2 other retail A/C add-ons. When I select one of the 744 PAX models, the nav data base screen comes up and loads, then when I select OK to start that flight, the loading scenery objects screen comes up and hangs at zero percent. Cont-alt-delete brings up the task manager, then looking at performance I see that CPU usage is around 74-86% and PF is at 946mb (out of a total of 1 gb. Has anybody heard of a workaround for installing Ground Environment (not Pro) after you have Windows Defender already installed on an XP machine. I ran into the Ground Environment install failure awhile back when I had Windows Defender and the only fix was to remove Windows Defender from my computer in order to get the G.E. install to work.Defender is a good little utility to have, but if I ever have to reinstall FS9, I'll run into the G.E. install problem so I'm hesitant to put Defender back on.Kim
