Greetings from a first-time forum user. I have searched high and low for a way to communicate with ATC (FS9/WinXP) without using the keyboard directly - ie keys 1,2,3 etc. Is it possible to respond to ATC calls with a programmable button on yoke or stick? Thanks to anyone with an answer

I was looking through this website http://www.freewarescenery.com/fs2004.php for freeware scenery and saw in the Australia section they have a link to Orbx's website. Does that scenery work in FS2004? I always thought it was just for FSX.(Here is the Orbx website http://fullterrain.com/)

I finally downloaded the Reims 152 and I LOVE it. There's only two problems: it is very difficult to tune the VOR behind the yoke, but I can work around that by shift+backspace-ing until I can see it through the corner of the yoke. BUT the windows, aargh. Is there a "clear windows" patch available out there anywhere?

Hi all Got a strange problem which has suddenly manifested itself. On take off from Seattle,(FlyTampa)following runway heading 34, then dial in a left turn to 270 to fly out toward the coast after about 15 mins or just over coast area I get a sudden freeze of the sim, no error message from FS9 displayed the majority of the time, when it has displayed it has mentioned that files G2.DLL,OR G3.DLL ( I think!!!) or mentions PMDG Guage file, or sometimes it just says an error occured. Windows event viewer is not much help for possible causes.I have not yet removed PMDG 737 from the sim to see if this is the cause, but would this effect any other arcraft? This has occured with…

This is a new one for me. I have noticed while flying today that none of my compass headings bore any resemblance to the runway headings or to reality. At times the compass heading was as much as 140 degrees wrong. Have tried different aircraft in different regions and it is all of them. I have placed myself in positions where I have flown extensively in the real world and have a pretty good idea of what the approximate compass headings should be based on various landmarks and there is just no correspondence with reality at all.I did install a new add-on today - the DBS Terrain Map gauge but can't really believe that would cause this. Hi AllThe title of my topic says it all really. I purchased and installed the Eaglesoft Twin Star, didn't like it much so uninstalled it with a view to getting a refund from flight1. As soon as I restarted Flightsim,(FS9) I got a message saying I had a glass guage missing and my traffic dll in the modules folder was damaged or missing and I have to do a reinstall of Flightsim, it then quits. I cant face a re-install, its just to much work as I have so much in my sim. Any help and thoughts would be grately appreciated.Many thanksMalcolm "Rooster" Hancock

What is considered to be the best DC-3 out there? I was looking at the MAAM version but was wondering if there is any other version that is worth noting. Preferably, I'd like something with both accurate flight dynamics and a good looking cockpit with a VC. It doesn't have to be payware, just something that works well and looks good....isn't that what we all want? Please advise and thanks!Mark

I am doing a complete re-install of my FS9 setup. In that context I am also re-installing Ultimate Terrain and FSGenesis. I have FSGenesis for all regions of the world and also the world buffer. For Ultimate Terrain I install Europe, the USA, and Alaska/Canada.Unfortunately I do not remember the best installation procedure.1) First FS Genesis or Ultimate Terrain?2) Any particular order in which Ultimate Terrain must be installed or sorted in the scenery.cfg?3) Are there any additional files I need to install to make FSG and UT work together? I remember something like a "Sandwich"...Thanks

I notice that RW weather is back online, despite the doom mongerors (or mischief makers) stating that it had gone for ever.On the subject of RW weather, does anybody know exactly what is downloaded? Is it detailed weather for the "whole world" or just the region you are in (in the Fltsim) when you download?I would be interested in knowing.RegardsJohn Earl

I have the prop planes I like to use but I've been looking for a good small bizjet and having some problems. Some of the ones I've downloaded have nice external models but terrible panels, or no VC. I really liked the look of the Phenom 100 and 300.Does anyone know of a freeware small bizjet package that is ok on all three counts? If not how hard is it to adapt a 2D panel from say the Learjet 45 for use with a model that has a bad panel?Thanks

Unlike a lot of people, I don't mind having the default airlines included, after the MSFS world is a virtual world (I also have some of the AI packages that I have downloaded from a few VA's specifically Westwind, Livewire, and Atlantic Sun).My questions are what is the best package that separates the Microsoft Alliance airlines from the GA aircraft , and has anyone done repaints of the Orbit 737-400 and the Word Travel 777-300 in the old FS2000 liveries for FS2004Herb D

Good evening Gents,I have been asking quite a few Question the last little while as I am trying to get my sim back to where I had it before the fresh install.Before I ask I have to let you know that I did search the forums with no luck, In fact I am pretty sure i have asked this a while ago but I have pulled up my post and cant seem to find the post in question.Anyways, I am trying to figure out how I had my CH yoke setup, I had the button that you would assume would be for rudder trim set to zoom in and out while in VC mode, but for the life of me I cant figure out how i managed to do it. I am almost certain that I had to do something with the cfg file to accomplish this…

I noticed for a long time that the zoom function (+ and - keys) does not always work, but after cycling a view using 's' or 'shift s' makes it work again. I recently found the cause: the ATC window! After pressing the ~ key to open or close the ATC window, the zoom function does not work anymore!Has anyone found a solution?Thanks!

I just tried to start FS2004, but am getting an error message "Your computer has run out of memory." Ok, it hasn't run out of memory... That said, I called Microsoft and was informed that they do NOT provide technical support for FS2004 anymore, only for FSX. This is frustrating, because I've have invested untold hours and thounsands of dollars in creating my FS2004 environment. Does anybody know of FS2004 support that is available by phone? I've spent the last 6 months rebuilding my FS2004 and don't want to go throw it all away by reinstalling just yet!

All, In the market for a hot single engine turbine... How does the old Flight1 Meridian stack up by todays standards ??? I read on the sales page it doesn't support Vista - any known issues running on Vista 32 ??? Any other candidates that I may have missed better suited for todays FS environment ???Regards,Scott

Hi guys. I wanted to do a flight to victoria using the APASS3 Arrival but can't find no where. I've tried almost every site but find outdated ones like APASS1. I checked to find out if APASS3 really exists as many are using it on VATSIM/VATAWARE. If someone can give me a link for this APCH would be grateful and a site which has up-to-date Canadian charts. I just updated to IE 8, among many other Winows updates. Now I can't download FS9 RW weather (static or 15 minute update). Where do I begin to look to solve this?

Hi guys, I use the FSCopilot GPWS addon for planes that I don't have the callouts on. But is there a way to change the GPWS callouts provided by FSCopilot? I want to use the 777 style callouts instead of the 737, 747-ish callouts provided by FScopilot? I tried replacing the files with the new ones but there will just be no callouts. Is there a method of doing so? Plz help.Alex
