I flew plenty of hours the last few days in the Twin Otter. But today I'm continuing my coastal flight around the entire UK. When I started it today, twice now, I get a green bar with yellow letters saying this, "Microsoft FSX Simconnect error detected, now restarting connection". Why in the world would I get an FSX error when I'm running P3D? I do have FSX installed on another drive but haven't even booted it since June. I'm a neophyte when it comes to this so could someone much wiser than me please help? What should I do? If anything. It didn't do this the last several days when I started the sim. Just rebuilt my FSX machine with Win10 (clean install). I have the standard FSX w/Acceleration Installed. I have all the install DVDs. Up until now, I have been using FSUIPC4 and WideFS. I want to try simconnect and dabble in other SDK areas. I also use SPAD.Next and want to try A2A aircraft in the future. So based on the SDK Wiki, my setup (10.0.61637.0) should have access to the SDK package installation. The instructions do not work as the process insists that I need install a SDK first from the the Deluxe DVD1. The STD disk does not have this. I have seen many forum comments about following the /Wiki and it appears that my configuration is not supported. …

So I have this weird problem with my addons such as the PMDG 777, 737, etc, where I will spawn at certain airports and it seems like the simconnect won't connect as I am unable to fly the airplane. Rudder, sometimes aileron, sometimes elevator won't work, and sometimes its just black gauges with no gear. But I'll spawn at other airports and it will be perfectly fine. I have re-installed FSX twice, that didn't help, verified integrity, again that didn't help. And I have done 2 tickets with Dovetail support and they basically say they can't help me since I have addons that ARE FSX-SE approved, but not FSX-SE approved under them. Hello, I am having trouble with SimConnect. I have been trying to configure sinconnect for the past two weeks without any success. I have followed all the guidelines from active sky next and even on avsim forum but it just does not work and on my network PC ASN loads up and then stays on with waiting for simulator even though the simulator is running and Prosim and other modules are connected. Hi all. I'm at my wit's end here! Recently uninstalled FSX and installed FSX Steam. Trying to get Simconnect working. Have ASN on a laptop and FSXSE on my desktop. Everything worked fine in old FSX installation, but just cannot get ASN to connect to FSXSE. All appropriate folders are shared properly, tried all versions of simmconnect.msi, tried everything i can think of!!! In winsxs folder, should i just have a folder for the simconnect version I am using??? I have a folder for all 4 versions on both server and client. I have a networked configuration with FSX/P3D working on the server and ASN, EFB and vPilot running on the client. Everything works quite fine. On the server I have two parallel OS installation on two separate SSDs, one for FSX and another one for P3D...actually it is as if I had two different computer, as I have two different "computer names". On the client I have the simconnect.cfg file that I have to modify every time I swich from FSX to P3D to take into account the fact that the server name (or IP) has changed. I have a Howard 500 that I would like to create some videos with but I would like to fly with the curtains in the passenger compartment open. They will not open on my favorite Windows 10 FSX system with Ezdok that has all my favorite scenery on it. I have a thread in the CTD Forum (http://www.avsim.com/topic/488012-help-ctd-awhen-loading-select-aircraft-etc-screen/page-2#entry3417095) concerning my problems with SimConnect. I did not realize there was a Simconnect Forum. It seems like somehow I lost the Simconnest files in my Registry. I have them in my Windows\winsxs folder. My FSXA ran fine prior to the crash. Is there any way to get them registered in my Registry?. I have the msi's in my SDK folder. Would it help to rerun them again and will they register the files in the Registry? Help.. I bought FSX standard edition years ago and installed SP1 and SP2. Now I believe I need the SDK to install simconnect on the client machines to ruN Active Sky Next. Where can I get/download the SDK's from? I did not buy acceleration or Gold edition. Does that mean I cannot get simconnect working ?. Thanks

Hello I've got a strange issue with simconnect. A couple of weeks ago some files got corrupted on my fsx disk, so I did a repair of my fsx and everything worked again. I also installed all the service packs and sdk servicepack. My fsx now says its version 10.0.61472 sp2. However, there seems to be an issue with simconnect. Several planes (like the freemium 757, captainsim 777, posky 777 and some others) and addons like fsxsave they don't work. I've recently wanted to place scenery through the Object Placement tool provided by the Missions Creations feature of SDK. I was excited when I learned I can do this... but a myriad of problems took me off guard. I first noticed this when the "Tools" tab in the Menu Bar did not show up. I researched to find a cause; some people said it had to do with the dll.xml file; some said it had to do with a folder path mismatch. Hello fellow simmers, I think I set up Simconnect correctly as it works perfectly with Plan-G (the VFR software). I read somewhere that a good way to test Simconnect is to use the AI traffic .exe from the SDK on the 2nd machine (a laptop), so I just did that. All I get is a black window opening, with a "-" flashing, and closing within about 10-15 seconds. Nothing else. I guess it means Simconnect is not configured properly, but as I said, Simconnect works well with Plan-G, which I am very happy with. Why would it work with one application and not another? I have a server (FSX) PC and a client (ASN, etc.) Have been using this set-up for a long time and have not had any simconnect issues. However recently ASN has stopped seeing the simulator. On Server Simconnect.xml in Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX - Correctly set-up. Simconnect.ini in My Documents/Flight Simulator X Files Have carried out the AITraffic test and result is positive. Entry on DLL.xml for the ASN module is correct and its folder also shared. On Client Simconnect.cfg in My Documents folder. Relevant Folders shared, port 500 opened on Firewall on both PCs. Hi, After flying for aprox. 10 minutes in FSX, Track IR 5 freezes and lost the Simconnection. However the 2 green lights are still on. Only with a hard reset of Track IR 5 and FSX is still working, I can continue with flying. Is there anybody who can assist me with this issue? Thanks in advance! Best Regards, Harry

I haven't had to go thru the Simconnect experience for about three years. Unfortunately, I experienced a serious Win 7/64 and FSX crash that forced a reinstall of the latter. I operate FS Economy client and ASN on separate PC's across a network. I've spent the last several hours trying to get Simconnect working with no luck. I ran SP1A SDK followed by the SP2. I then did a repair on SDK SP2. This is with the CD Gold Edition. I have Simconnect.cfg, .ini. dll.xml and exe.xml in 'My Documents' and 'AppData' - Microsoft/FSX. Hi all. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to establish the FSX installation folder from a remote SimConnect client? I want to drop a hand crafted .flt file on to the server from my client app and use the SimConnect_FlightLoad() function to load it up. Whilst I happen to know the server name and can map a network drive for my development environment, I'd like to abstract things if possible such that all I have "hard coded" on the client is the SimConnect.cfg file location. However, this only gives me an IP address and port of the SimConnect server and I don't think that that is enough to build code to put my .flt file somewhere that FSX will be able to see. …
