And we shall visit a few airstrips that will pose a challenge. We start at Oksibil [WAJO] which is a commercial field with an asphalt runway for regional airliners. We climb to land at the photogenic ridgetop strip Mindiptana [WAOY] [*]. And then head east to Tinbil [PAP22] and then proceed over the border into PNG…

A Grenadines New Year For Saturday, January 1, 2022 Michael MacKuen We shall spend New Year's day flying the Windward Islands of the Antilles. We start on Guadeloupe and enjoy the afternoon island-hopping our way to the Grenadines. Caution: your flying concentration may be distracted by views of forested volcanic islands, white sand beaches, and beautiful coral reefs. We begin at Guadeloupe's Le Raizet [TFFR] (or Pôle Caraïbes) airport. We meet on the older GA side of the field rather than the modern international operation on the north side. Normally, during the winter season, jumbo jets fill the jetways with tourists from metropolitan France. Both Guadeloupe an…

Time to discover your inner Michael Corleone. Grab a couple of less than interested body guards and take a stroll in the mountains. Personally, I'd rather fly! There a a few dirt/grass strips that can be hard to spot unless you've been there a few times! Aircraft: I'll pick the Kodiak even though I don't have the update! 😠 C208 would be good as well. Whatever you choose needs to cruise 140/150ish and get in and out of...Well, you get the idea. Flight plan HERE n.b.
