Hi all,I'm finalising the development of a freeware scenery pack for FS9. Since I have some previous experience with INNO Setup, I've decided to use it to make a solid installer which is expected to add a few entries into the Scenery.CFG file. But... I don't know how to do this using INNO's capabilities. I asked this question at INNO's forum but to no avail... :(If anyone can help to write a simple script or if anyone has professional experince with INNO I would be more than happy to listen and learn. Btw, it's not about INNO only, I just would like to know the principles of writing into the CFG-sort of files.Thank you in advance! Please feel free to ask me anything you n…

Hello! I am currently working on developing a custom FS2004 module which transmits NAV radio frequencies to an external USB display. I therefore tried to download the source code for FDSConnect as an example for how to read and write radio frequencies. However the download link at the homepage (http://www.flightdecksoftware.com/downloads.php) appears to be broken. Does anyone have a copy of the FDSConnect source code that they can post or email to me?

Hi all - I'm trying to nail down something posted on another forum about FS X. Are Multi-pLayer aircraft gone in FS-X? By that I mean did M$ make AI and MP aircraft one and the same? The reason I'm asking is that I want to be able to turn on either an effect or the smoke system of a multi-player's aircraft. Such that you could be online (say VATSIM) with a buddy and see his #3 engine smoking. According to the docs I've read so far, you can turn on effects for AI aircraft - no mention of MP aircraft is made (supposedly this was doable in FS 9 as well, but I never tried it as I'm only interested in MP aircraft). If this is the case, I will finally have my reason to buy FS…

Hello everyone We have just completed the EMB-170 Soundpack for the Embraer 170 series. It contains the usual high quality recordings, and a little new thing for this one is, we have captured the typical rattle sound from the fanblades, when they are low at RPM just before 0 RPM, during the shutdown seq. Here are a preview for the soundpack : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6NqYH9C2KU More info at www.turbinesoundstudios.com Best regards Christoffer Petersen / TSS

Hello all! This is my first post at this forum, so don't know if I posted this topic on the right place.I have a VA called dutchskyways.com, based at Amsterdam (AMS/EHAM) in the Netherlands. We run the VA since 2005 and we've closed the VA down for a while to create a new sort of system. Especially for the PIREP sending system. We've chosen for the FSAcars system of SATA Virtual Group. Unfortunately, it isn't working well. The program can't connect with my MYSQL-database server. I personally think that all my settings are correct, but I'm really doubting now. I already asked some people to help, but they couldn't help me to get it working correctly. Also, I've mailed to SAT…

Hi,I'm a experienced Win32 developer, but know nothing about how to program for FS9. I have an idea for an addon that would be hosted in a dll per normal FS SDK way. However, could anyone please give me a hint for how to display data and user controls in a normal window? Is it enough to create a normal Win32 window with FS as parent, or do I need to use some FS SDK methods (Panel/Gauges etc.) I'm just thinking of something very simple (eg. "Hello world" ) Hope you understand my question...Thanks in advance!Timian

Hi All,I was advised that my utility FSLibScan.exe published in the AVSIM library on Monday may falsely report missing textures. As far as I am aware up to now this is the case if...1) ...the main scan path is not the FS application path - this will not find textures in the FS main texture folder.2) ...one of the scanned scenery folder names contains capital letters, e.g. "...Scenery..."3) ...a scenery path contains the item "scenery" more than once - e.g. "Addon ScenerysceneryLibraryscenery". FSLibScan will then expect texture files in "...Addon Scenerytexture". As I do not have so much time right now to upload a fix to AVSIM, for the meantime, I suggest the following wor…

For some time now I've been feeling the lack of something when entering turbulent conditions. I think perhaps adding some rattling sounds might help to alleivate this. I used to have a program that did this (forget now what is was called) but I found it had a frame rate hit that I didn't like. I was wondering what I'd have to learn to make such a program, perhaps a .dll that detects turbulence in FS9 and then triggers the sound. I'm not adverse to learning a programming language to do it either, as I have some experience there.Any ideas on what path I might take?- daniel

Attention all developers:Do you need new sounds for either the DC9 or A320 series aircraft?I am taking a trip this weekend involving both of these beautiful birds. I can take a recording device with me and record the in-flight cabin sounds on both aircraft. The sounds will be free to its users and can be used however you like, as long as you include me in the credits of your chosen aircraft. Respond to this message by Friday, April 6th 2007 if you would like the sound kit so I will know if anyone actually wants it.

How do I set from an add-on the eye point position and view direction in a virtual cockpit view during the simulation in FS9?Something like SimConnect_CameraSetRelative6DOF should do in FSX?I've found EventIDs KEY_EYEPOINT_ and KEY_PAN_ but they just step the vector around and KEY_EYEPOINT_RESET set back to the original value, the one in aircraft.cfgVieweyepoint I think. Thanks

  21. Unfortunately our long-time panel renderer and texture artist, Kyle Shurb, has had to leave the team due to real world constraints.XSimuatel is actively searching for a replacement. We are looking for those who are skilled at making high resolution textures from real-world photos, and who has much experience creating renders through 3D Studio. Previous FS experience is highly preferred! This is a paid position and you would be brought onto the staff full time. If you feel you have what it takes to do this job, email me directly at [email protected] and if you can put together a resume or CV of your skills that will be best for me to see if you're who we're looking fo…

I dont want to give to much away on an open forum, but this is a big project. As it will be a free too use app, There will be no financial gain for any coders, however, If I can put together two talented coders to work with us in this development, the coders will recieve all credits on the site and they will become the main developers of …

Hi, my name is Sam and I'm with Exploration Works (an innovative, hands-on museum of science and culture, opening in the summer of 2007, located inMontana). One of our opening exhibits is going to be a Hang Glider Simulator. A person actually gets to hang in a harness and shift their weight to control theglider. This is hooked up to Microsoft Flight Simulator. This allows the participant to experience what hang gliding is like.We have made a couple of prototypes and set them up at some fundraisers for the museum, and people seem to really enjoy it. However, the Flight Sim hang glider that we have been using in the prototypes is not very realistic in the handling aspects. I…
