Do you know of any add-ons for any good commercial flight simulator app that will make it push out DIS data? DIS = distributed interactive simulation, a standard simulation communication protocol. Also, any recommendations for flight sim apps that will support openFlight db format? Please email back the reply, thanks!

Yes i swith them on on the panel.I found out it was with all the large airplanes i have, PMDG 747, Leveld 767, PSS 777. On the smaller ones i don`t have any problem. Hello,I am trying to write a simple application that should connect to Flight Simulator multiplayer session and feed position of one ore more aircraft to it.I am a newbee to DirectPlay. I am trying to act according to the DX 7 SDK and FS2002 MP SDK. At this point I am stuck trying to get the flight simulator session with EnumSessions(). I am using one of the examples from DX SDK as a starting point. Two instances of this app are able to connect to each other. The problem is they don't list flight sim session in the enumeration, although I think I've got the correct GUID.Can there be an issue with network ports? The flight sim mentions port 23456 in its multiplayer dialog.…

Does anyone have a working (simple) example of how the DPMH is used? I would like to test my system with a known working example. Why I'm asking:I have the source code for connection to a multiplayer session using DirectPlay. However, while all the functions are returning S_OK, no message is ever received in the DPMH function. This was working until a few weeks ago when suddenly no MP session is *ever* found (requires a DPN_MSGID_ENUM_HOSTS_RESPONSE). What bothers me is that FSInn and SBRelay both continue to perform ok. Why this should suddenly stop working is beyond me, especially considering that FSInn works fine.Senior Captain, Pier Glass Aviation

Hi,I'm looking into making a program that can access VATSIM information for use while air traffic controlling. Does anyone know how to access the VATSIM data for read-only purposes like servinfo does?

Some military aircraft have tactical displays (ie the Pavelow0357 MH-53) in which contacts are displayed. I am looking for the authors of one of these displays because I would like to tie in data (from a remote simulation) so that targets could be designated, etc. And I need to know how to send the data to the display. Thanks!Senior Captain, Pier Glass Aviation

I know it can be done, but I've searched the web for the last couple of hours for resources on how to take GIS data and draw a simple map (that is lat/lon aware) using VB.NET without having to purchase some multi-hundred dollar product. Can't find anything good.Anyone have any resources? Thanks,

Having done a search on the forum for lat/lon calculations and formula, am I correct in assuming that MSFS 2002 and 2004 both use a simplistic perfect sphere for the earth where longitude is calculated as a function of the cosine of the latitude? Did M$ actually make it that simple? Thanks!Senior Captain, Pier Glass Aviation

Hello, since this is my first post in this forum, I would like to say a big "Hello" to everybody.Well, I am posting, because I have a problem. I would need a world's airport database with specific information in it like:-ICAO Code-Latitude-Longitude-Runway Length/s-ILS yes/no-Airport ElevationIs there anything somewhere on the internet. I already did a research, but was not really successful. Where do the "Flight Planning Program" Guys get there information from? Is there an official site, where I can find something like that. Or is there maybe another way to get the data?Would be great if somebody could help me out. Thanks in advance.Regards,Pete

Quick and dirty:Can ABL be used to control AI aircraft autopilot settings at regular intervals?*Can AI traffic be initialized at the beginning of the flight at predetermined locations (preferably already in flight)? Is there an ABL command that can take a screen shot and save it to a designated location and file name?*We are using Flight Simulator 2002 Professional (with wideview to project to multiple monitors)Long and boring:We are currently designing an experiment to test pilots' ability to detect aircraft on a collision course. Ideally we would like to create a flight wherein various AI craft start from initial positions in the world and a script adjusts their autopil…

Hello,We are a new frenchspeaking VA, you can visit our pages here : http://v2.reflexairline.fr.We would want to developp an add on to check pilot flight time, but nobody in our staff know a langage to make one.So, i'am asking for somebody who have free time to help us in our VA to developp an add-on for FS.It would be better if the developper were frenchspeaking but englishspeaking are welcome too ;)If you are interesting in this project contact me : [email protected] you,The ReflexAirline webmaster.

How about this? An addon to FS9 that runs independantly and allows you to manage and grow your own airline. You develop routes by flying them, then schedule flights with the aircraft you purchase/lease. Pax demand coupled with your airline's reputation, service levels, ticket prices, etc. will determine your loads as well as destinations served. FS Airline will generate pax demand between any two citypairs and these pax will then book passage through your (or someone elses) network, so it's not a simple point-to-point system. What's more, the AI airlines you have installed will also make decisions and change schedules, aircraft, etc. which will be visually noticable in FS…

Hello,I'd like to get started on some ideas for FS add-ons, but I'm afraid I can't find any API documentation outside of what is provided in the MSFS SDK's. I already know how to develop windows programs (DLLs, COM, etc.), so all I need is some good documentation for the MSFS API. Is there somewhere else I can find these docs? Thanks in advance.Mike

Hi,I've lately become interested in making add-ons for FS9 that are able to access and change interenal FS data, just like programs such as Squawkbox or ActiveSky, things like that. It seems those programs are made mostly using Dynamic Link Libraries(DLL). I have Visual Basic 6 and can make DLLs but I don't know how to access the flight simulator through them. I'd appreciate any help in pointing me in the right direction with this.-James

Hi I am new and I was wondering if anyone could airline AI packs for FS2004 featuring different famous airlines. This would be a great help for people who want to use ai but don't know how to install the aircraft and liveries. Please do this.:-newbie

Why can't the reflective textures of an aircraft be used to make reflective glass - like in a window? Or possibly water surface. Or other shiny things. I know nothing about aircraft design, so if this is a dumb [email protected]

Not sure if everyone know this, but I went looking for the new version of VB and found that VB, VC++, VC# and VJ# are all free. The FAQ's from MS's website talks about the "cost". As long as you get them before November of next year, you never have to pay for the 2005 versions. You can download either the executables or iso files so you can burn them to CD if you want. Have Fun!

Hi,Could someone tell me more about how the autopilot is implemented in FS2004. How's the Automatic Control Unit simulated? Are real control element like PT-Elements, integrators, differentioators implemented or is it set to work like a fuzzy control or somthing similar? Is it possible to change the characteristics of the Autopilot in FS2004? Is it possible to put my own control circuit? I have googeld around but didn't find anything around that topic.Thank you,Baker

I've connected a flight simulation program I wrote to MS FS using Netpipes SDK. Still, sometimes the MS program overrides my data and uses the output of it's simulation engine. Question is, how to disable MS simulation engine completely. I got some tips including using slew mode or to set simulation rate to zero but I did not succeed to implementing them.ThanxBaruch
