Shared Cockpits | Multi-Player Forum for FSX | FSX-SE | P3D

We are pleased to set up a new forum for those interested in Shared Cockpits. Dave Hodges (DaveCT2003) has volunteered to moderate this forum mainly for Shared Cockpit users but also those who want to use your flight simulator to fly with others using the multiplayer features. This forum was formerly set up under FSX but we decided to move it out from under FSX so that it might generate more interest and users of other flight simulators can participate too. It is realized the features may not be available for all flight simulators at this time but that could change in the future. Friends, Aerosoft has published a Hot Fix for those who are experiencing a Crash to Desktop when performing a Direct To function. Whether or not you are experiencing this problem, I recommend you implement this Hot Fix to ensure those flying Connected Flight Deck have 100% compatible software for their connection. Hi all, Wondered if any of you with experience of the shared cockpit function in P3D have any ideas or thoughts... We are using the Shared Cockpit feature to provide live one-on-one training for VATSIM pilot ratings. For the most part it works brilliantly and it is a really excellent way to deliver training. However... Whilst we are having no problems at all with FSX (Boxed) and FSX-SE, on P3D we are running in to issues whereby the simulation rate starts spontaneously increasing during the session once control has been transferred to the client. Obviously this is rather frustrating. Has anybody got any ideas or come across this before? Best, Simon

Hey there, As the title suggests I'm looking for a flying companion/some flying companions to have fun flying together (preferably on online networks like VATSIM or IVAO) and also just sharing experiences, etc... on flightsim generally. I saw a few videos awhile ago on people sharing cockpits during flights and I'm wondering if this is possible in the latest P3D 3.2? I would like to fly with a friend using the PMDG 777/737. Would be nice to have a real life co-pilot who you can talk to while flying instead of using FS2Crew. If anyone knows anything about this and how to get it up and running, please post here. I don't even know what sort of software I need or if this is a built-in feature. Thanks

Anyway, is there anyone out there who has the VRS TacPack who'd also want to practice some dogfighting with me, or maybe some bombing runs or even carrier ops (using Javier Fernandez's Nimitz)? I notice there are quite a few chocolate software servers online, but maybe only a dozen or so people actually on them. I'm not keen on Vatsim even though I've been simming since before FS9, but I do enjoy multiplayer when there's a few folks on to fly with. (Please please please don't turn this into a 'we have to convince you to use Vatsim' thread! I'm not interested in that, so please keep it relevant to the topic at hand.) I am wondering, can a FSX user multi-play with a FS9 user? Or, must they both use the same version of MSFS? Thank you..... aviation1972

Out of all the years I have had FSX, it seems like multiplayer has never lagged, at least not much as it does now. I have FSX-SE now, so I don't know if that's the culprit, but more importantly, it seems like the other planes are causing the lag. I can look down at the floor of my cockpit, or in a direction not facing any other aircraft, and it stays consistently 30, now if I have the other aircraft in sight, the farthest it will drop is 19. I don't know what the problem is, do any of you know how to fix it? Please tell me.

I am looking at some airliners and think the Aerosoft Airbus or the Dash 8 pro (when available) would be perfect for this adventure. The main reason I want to share a cockpit is to learn because I am really concerned about my ability to grasp in air computer functions and operations. If I have someone there with me I will learn much faster than I would reading a manual. I guess what I am saying or asking is this; would anyone be willing to share a flight or two and help me with the operations and procedures?

Looking for folks to fly with in formation on XC trips. Maybe a leg a day. i prefer to fly on Vatsim since it support multi platform flying. My home airport is kmgm but willing to start anywhere. We can discuss when the time comes. I have all three platforms.

Hello! I could find several guides on how to share a PMDG 737 NGX cockpit on vatsim, though I found none for the PMDG 777. So my questions are; How can I share a PMDG 777 cockpit on vatsim? Can we both use vPilot, or do we need another client? Can we both use ATC services? Thanks for answers! :-)
