  2. With all of the Hard work and updates that the developer has put into JoinFS, it is now working pretty well with Tacpack. Due to this the USNVA has decided to go "Multi-Platform" and open our doors to Steam and P3D. If you have a desire to fly organized multiplayer operations with a great bunch of guys check us out: www.USNVA.com

I have 2 computers in my home, each loaded with FSX:SE and P3D. I would like to use the multiplayer function so 2 people can fly together on my local (in home) network. Are there any issues using 2 IP addresses within one network regarding performance? I am assuming it is possible to have 2 IP addresses in one network. Ted Creagh

Hopefully someone has seen this and fixed it. Running FSX Acceleration. Trying to start a multiplayer lan session. As soon as I click on the lan option, I get an error, "An invalid argument was encountered.". Uninstalled and reinstalled everything. Any ideas??????? Thanks Snake

Hi, I am trying to set up a shared cockpit between my friend in Germany and myself (Tampa, Florida). We would like to start with the MS default aircraft and running into some difficulties: Both run: FSX-SE; Norton 360; ports are forwarded on both routers (6112 to 6122). For test purposes we will briefly disable Norton Firewall; I have created a session and have arrived in the Briefing Room waiting for my friend to join. Question: If I arrived at the Briefing Room through connecting, does that indicate a properly working connection? (see screenshot) I just now saw the OVPA guidlines and will also troubleshoot my end. Thanks for help Sorry, forgot the link to th…

I'm putting together a Christmas Cross Community Flight offering the chance for communities to interact with those they otherwise might not. Saturday the 17th of December at 20:00z Full details can be found on a quick webpage I've written (excuse the typos) and I'm hoping that I can bring together as many as us aviation geeks as possible for a bit of fun. http://roo.servebeer.com/cccgf.html The event will consist of a large group flight in Lapland before ATC start to open up a few towers around the Lapland area. The new JOINFS client will be needed in order to accommodate FSX and P3D users in the same session (sorry FS9 and Xplane pilots but maybe next year)…

  11. Hello everyone, I am not quite sure if this is the correct forum to post this but, I am looking for someone who would like to take part in a shared cockpit flight with me. I am 19 years old, live in the United States and would consider myself to be proficient with the a320 as well as Vatsim. The only shared cockpit capable aircraft I have is the Aerosoft a320/a321. I also have PFPX, the most recent Navigraph AIRAC and Active Sky 2016. If anyone is interested please do let me know!

The USNVA is always looking for a few good men(or ladies). The USNVA was originally founded in 2006 and went into dormancy in 2014 . In 2016 three of the founding members decided that it was time to revive the organization. This is an Adult organization and applicants under the age of 18 will not be accepted. We are open to all skill levels from the greenest rookie to experienced pilots. While we are a naval organization, we realize that not all are interested in carrier operations therefore we offer a shore based support squadron. We are a mission oriented virtual flight organization, using Microsoft Flight Simulator X with Acceleration as our base platform. Our primary …

  13. Shared Cockpit Community Update (FSX/P3D) When FSX (ESP) was created, Microsoft added some "Shared Cockpit" features for default or default compatible gauges, some switch positions and engine/flight controls. This type of shared cockpit is very limited. I generally refer to this as Microsoft Shared Cockpit. Third party Shared Cockpit does not use the Shared Cockpit programming in FSX/P3D, but rather uses a standard network interface implemented by the aircraft developer and which will allow for all aircraft functions (including the FMS) to be shared between two computers. This is the type of Shared Cockpit most people use for Third Party Airliners today. As…

  15. A few days ago the Internet suffered one of the largest and most widespread Malware based attacks to date, affecting millions of people. No matter what you read about this, the attack was far more widespread than is being reported. The majority of these attacks were Denial of Service (DOS) where a tremendous (possibility even record breaking) number of personal computers and "smart" home appliances are infected over long periods of time and then "activated" to target organizations and companies. Malware infections are not limited to creating Drones for DOS attacks. To my personal knowledge, there have been at least 3 major state sponsored malware threats that cost …

In the JoinFS thread: Al, Some a/c work well in P3D or Steam when the files actually reside in the FSX folder. A few do not. It's best for Steam and P3D not to see them. The FlightReplicas Super Cub is a good example. Since it cause a crash to Steam or P3D if it even gets loaded as a substition, I place it in FSX\SIMOJECTS\FSXOnly. There is no reference to that folder in the Steam or P3d cfg file so there is no chance of it getting loaded. If you're curious as to why do all this to start with, it is about saving time by not doing multiple installations and about saving hard drive space. See http://msflights.net/forum/showthread.php?3330-Have-FSX-SE-…

Hello, can we connect to someone on here without joining OVPA and doing all those steps? I understand security is an issue, but for those of us who choose to not go that route, can we simply choose to fly with a member on AVSIM without having to join OVPA? Also, with shared cockpit, we don't need to purchase any special add-on to get this to work, I see only a few planes are supported. I'm sad that PMDG 737/777 is not on the list. But at least the Aerosoft Airbus is. I'm guessing this sharedcockpit is a feature that is built directly into the plane itself? Which requires no additional software. Is shared cockpit not the same thing as P3D's multiplayer menu where y…

  21. I thought I would write a little post about my very first experience with shared cockpit in p3d v3.2.3. I don't have any friends in real life that enjoy flight simulation (well I do have one, but he hasn't gotten himself a pc yet, and is "fresh meat" in the flight sim miljeu). I made a couple of posts both here and on twitter requesting people to fly with. I got a few replies, and one of us hooked up this afternoon for a test. He was a nice Italian man who spoke English quite well, and we met up on Teamspeak which was his preferred medium. If it was up to me, we would have used Skype or some other desktop-sharing-capable medium. We talked abit about ourselves and our …

  23. Friends, We (Majestic Beta Team members) recently tested an update to bring the Dash 8 up to P3D V3.3.5 compatibility, and the update has been released. You'll find the 1.018d patch in the Majestic User Area. There will also be a small update coming out for FSX users, though I believe the FSX Update mainly affects Shared Cockpit connections. The update was tested in Shared Cockpit in three different scenarios, one pilot, Shared Cockpit with Two Pilots, and Shared Cockpit with Two Pilots and an Observer. The update was also testing in in Shared Cockpit mode with two pilots running different versions of P3D Example 1: Pilot with P3DV3.35, Copilot with P3DV3.…
