Whooo man, you guys weren't kidding when you said you were revolutionizing FS' weather!!! Man, what an outstanding job you guys have done here!!! My heartiest congrats! One quick clarification when using FSSE2 (FS Sky World) please. You suggested not running in random load mode, but instead finding a set you like and loading it, then staying with it. Can you, without causing degradations in any of the programs, run a different set each time you fly (but NOT having them change while you fly - i.e. preinstall a different set for each flight) provided you load them before starting up AS?Thanks Damian, guys! The whole program is outstanding, and the manual (which I read fr…

Well, I had no problems installing. I also had no problems configuring FSUIPC and FS2k2.However, when I got to page 12, I clicked "Auto Download and Create New", and got the following:"Error or Timout downloading cycle."I haven't touched anything else . . . honest.I ran FSMeteo to confirm that I did not have a cable modem problem, and I do not.Suggestions?Wilson

Just ran ActiveSky wxRE for the first time, and I think it as an absolutely program! Great Job! However I seem to have done something wrong setting it up. I took off from KJQF with current metars, after setting up Active Sky as best I could. While on the ground I had fairly good visibility more than ten miles with overcast skies. Right after takeoff It was like I flew into a cloud at 150ft AGL. Needless to say it was an invisible cloud until I was inside of it(pilots last words). Do you have any knowledge of how this comes to happen, if so can you please advise what I need to do to correct. Oh and it was raining quite hard so I thought it my be caused by the reduce…

Just suffering from a little confusion...which happens to me quite often ;)I've downloaded and read the manual for wxRE...excellent reading (very well written). The scenario: I want wxRE to operate in "Dynamic" mode.1) I'm sitting at my PC on the East Coast (Connecticut), let's say it's 8Pm EST2) in FS2K2 I have "System time" selected under Settings-General3) in wxRE Options, I have the "Time Zone/UTC conversion" of -5 entered4) in wxRE Options, I selected "Use System Time for Processing"5) everything else is set per the manual6) okay, it's 8Pm EST realtime but I want to fly in daylight so I change the time to 2pm EST under FS2K2-World-Time & Seasonquestion 1) is wxRE…

WX reports scattered cloud at 500ft AGL & overcast at 2000ft AGL.You take off, and pass some clouds, suddenly the sky becomes very grey and the visibility starts to reduce. Within minutes you are faced with a dilemna:Maintain Marginal VFR flight below the Cloud Base.Climb Through the Cloud & Fly VFR on Top.Do an Immediate Return to yor departue Airport.Fly IMC.And all this without the default FS "Blue Band" that is normally associated with Overcast conditions.Above is just an example of what to expect from ActiveSky WXRE.TAF processing is another really good feature, especially as some WX stations report less often at different times of the day.TAF Processing allo…

I have been using FS Meteo since almost one year ago and have enjoyed it so much. I'm considering purchasing the ActiveSky WXre because of its exclusive features. But I gave ActiveSky v1.5 a try some days ago and noticed that its METAR source seems to be the NOAA server, which are not always up to date. Second to my observation, the most updated METAR info is that one available from IVAO network, followed by NOAA servers, then, closely to NOAA, VATSIM. I wonder if WXre would have a feature for grabbing METAR from those three networks/servers and mount a pool of the most updated METARs from all the servers.

Im currently using FS2002 Vfr Scenery Pt.1 which looks best with FS2002 visability set to 10 miles or values less than 10 miles.Im also using FSmeteo 5 and would like to know how to set it up so that it never gives a visability more than 10 miles, but also accepts lower vis values depending on the MET report recieved. So far im getting visabilities in the range of 21 miles right down to 3/4 miles, but i just wanna block out any thing over 10 miles for use with this type of Scenery.I believe 21 miles is too much vis for the UK and think lower vis looks better with this scenery. Please help me!!!! Thanks

I have found that using Active Sky V1.5 (and FSUIPC 2.94) that some METARs are not being handled correctly in terms of visibility.Flying into NZWN and NZCH last night the visibility was quoted as 25KM and 15KM but Acitve Sky reads this incorrectly and shows it as only 1 mile (1.6km). This may be unique to New Zealand.I have copied this morning's METAR which has a similar visibility as an example:NZWN 082100Z 18008KT 30KM FEW015 BKN025 14/09 Q1009 NOSIG RMK KAUKAU 17008KTI have been searching everywhere this morning for an Australian station who was quoting visibility other than 9999 or CAVOK but couldn't find any! However, from memory I think we just quote the number of …

Wow its amazing what some of those shots look like with default clouds!I currently use FSMeteo, which i feel is probably THE best money I have spent on FS in the past and Im not sure what the difference is with your product but is sure looks like it feathers the clouds better or meshes the whole shooting match together better on the screen I dont know. But it does look impressive and I will be buying it.So when? :)Hurry up before I go Xmas shopping this weekend I might be broke after that. Just a word of caution :)Again looks great and great job from what I can tellTodd GarnerOwner/OperatorNorth Shore AirwaysPaquet, Canada

Hi guys,Just a quick question. Since a vast majority of METARs (in the US anyway) these days are automatically generated with ASOS-type equipment, I've become curious about how weather programs handle the default 10SM visibility that is given when it's clear out.I like flying visual approaches, as well as issuing them for online ATC (www.vatsim.net). So, the earlier I or my pilots can see the airport, the better. Is it possible somehow to have the visibility in FS be set to, say, 20 miles instead of 10 miles when the METAR reports 10SM? If only because when 10 miles is reported by an automated station, it's usually clear as a bell out there. I would think it be not too di…
