The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

The last 3 or 4 Carenado and Alabeo purchases for me, have resulted in regrets. This one hasn't. I like it. It's immersive and atmospheric. Those expecting a shiny new Mooney with 0 hours on the Hobbs will be disappointed. This is an older aircraft. Not 70s older but perhaps 90s I'd guess? It's just nicely worn in, in the right places. Luckily this is exactly how I like my aircraft addons. :) Texturing is the usual high quality Alabeo job. Hard to fault in any area. In an unusual move, Alabeo offer two complete seperate aircraft installations - one standard and one 'lite'. I mean completely different aircraft folder, and you need to (for example) …

I'm presently having just taken off from W05 (Gettysburg Regional) and am heading back up to KFNT (Flint/Bishop), Michigan for a real-time flight. If you have Ortho4XP ortho scenery at zl17/19/2, you are gonna be in for a real real-world-view treat. The scenery is simply beautiful to behold, and I have captured the Gettysburg National Battlefield with the wagon-wheel pattern, welcome center, in one of the following screen shots. Even if you have no ortho, it's still a very nice flight area to start out from... Cheers,

The lighting and ground textures / autogen still need some work, but flying above and below these clouds is really fun.

Here is the FedEx Panda livery on the PMDG 747 painted by fellow painter Brian T. He's been letting me beta test it....I think its ready to go, whatcha' think? Look how crisp that graphic of the bear is! Stunning detail! Click the image to see her in 4k on this image I love the details he put into it.... The dirt on the wings and the cargo door hinge are outstanding! She looks so graceful in the air! Glam shot! Hehe I'll be flying pandas all over the world with this one! I'll post a link to the paint when he's finished packaging it and uploading it to the library.

The very gifted Steve Drabek recently showcased the consequences of insufficient planning for stormy weather, and was given a number to call for those who don't quite do flying just right. He was kind enough to promise to pass that number on to me, I just wanted to show him why I think I should also have that number. I would discuss it with my instructor, but, they are, understandably, hard to come by now. Steve, if you're reading this, you have nothing to feel bad about, you have followed the old aviation guideline of landing at least as many times as you have taken off ... that is not true for all of us

From time to time, someone shares some of their screenshots of flights to and around Africa, and more often than not, the lack of variety for African airports comes up. Like most of those who comment on the paucity of African airports, I feel a similar hope that someone will add to the list of African airports. Thankfully, there are a few very nice freeware airfields available for GA around Southern Africa, Vilankulo and Inhambane in Mozambique being two of my favourites, and what better aircraft to enjoy life under African skies than the Cessna 182 from A2A. So, here then, is a selection from a recent flight I did around South Africa and Mozambique, hopefully this will e…

June 20, 1924: The flyers were given a tour of the city of Bangkok which included many temples and palaces, the king was out of town but they did meet the ranking prince. They were offered the opportunity to view a beheading bee but they declined that. Some of the flyers took advantage of the comfortable Royal Hotel of Bangkok, while the others decided to sleep on the Destroyer. The next major stop was to be Rangoon Burma, they decided to fly to Tavoy to refuel. A direct flight would require a 130 mile flight over the Malay Peninsula, the safer alternative would be to fly along the coast and around but that would require another two days of flying so Lt Smith decided to t…

Being a simmer, I sometimes just grab a plane and fly, hehe. This turns out not to be the best strategy when using Active Sky and weather IS an issue at your destination, LOL! Well....I shoulda checked notams and sigmets before I launched this big German lady from Tampa to KJFK..... This is what was waiting for me after an uneventful trip up the East Coast of the US.... As I got near to New York....it was very clear that turbulence was going to swat this giant metal bird as if it was a fly if I elected to venture into it. Active Sky was very accurately depicting the weather over the Big Apple, faithfully reproduced in the PMDG's weath…

Twin Jet is a small French scheduled airline, operating a fleet of Beech B1900D from Paris Orly to small regional airports across France. Today's flight takes us south, to Limoges. (Default LFPO, All default scenery, Free LFBL from x-plane.org. Carenado B1900D in XP11). On the ramp at Paris Orly; passengers about to board. On climbout through a low cloud base, we're climbing to FL170. We use the default XP11 GNS530's advisory VNAV page to help with descent planning. Short finals into Limoge; there's a wicked crosswind hitting us from the right. We've arrived and the…
