The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Default scenery and clouds, love the Xplane11 clouds and landclass.... The last pic is from my freeware program, Spirapaint, found on CNET and other websites (be careful however, I recommend CNET since some hackers have put a "free license code" in the program that isn't needed, it's Malware. Spirapaint can be used to create custom logos for aircraft and images from it can be saved directly to bitmap, I recommend on the tail if you want to create your own livery's logo. It's modeled after the old children's toy, the Spirograph and can create unlimited patterns and can be run in kiosk mode if left unattended while children are around as a screensaver. The documentation…

...WOW!!! Earlier today, I made a post about the news that X Europe for XP11 got released. I showed some pics of Frankfurt in this post. But tonight, I wanted to see, how it draws a small German city, a city with a population of barely 180,000, close to the french boarder. It´s my birth place, and I know this city very well, and so I could make a bit of sightseeing... Have a look, and you may understand my enthusiasm ;-) (the underlying scenery is ZL18/19 (!) ortho4XP generated scenery, and fps were 35-50): There are some funny issues where OSM data interprets house boats as actual houses: The definiton of buildings is spot on: …

Decided to take a few min to configure my controls this time... hehe Got the P51 off the ground without too much trouble, but she's a touchy little thing! The lighting (physical aircraft lighting) is a little hokey sorry. I only found the lights switches at the end after landing. And I have the heat blur and dof enabled, not sure I like it. First shots/flight from DCS 2.6 - this is all free to download, etc. I installed the sim because I'm REALLY interested in the F18 coming out. And the low cost carrier series continues, today with a flight from EGGW (a freeware from tdg, available at the org. I´ll present a few of his countless and beautiful airports througout this series) to EIDW (from Aerosoft) Aircraft is the B733 by IXEG with a HD livery from the org, scenery is Ortho4XP, weather and atmospheric goodness is provided by xEnviro, ground services were provided by JAR and pushback by the great freeware tool Better Pushback, the whole appearance of the sim is tweaked to my liking with MaxxFX. ;-) So, sit back and enjoy this early morning flight, captains! ;-) Thanks a lot for watching!

Yeah, todays featured aircraft, the ZIBO modded default B738 in XP11 is freeware, so it can´t get any more economically priced, right? ;-) Other than that, it´s LGKR freeware from the org, and default XP11 EDDM scenery. The weather and the clouds are default XP11, and I used MaxxFX and tweaked some art controls. So, all in all, a pretty affordable (sim) flight! Here you go: …

  23. Well! Looks like I lost the battle but won the war. When you last saw us we were sitting on the ramp at Ft Myers (KFMY) waiting to offload to a different aircraft. When they showed up it was not the C208 Grand Caravan I had contracted. Turns out their boss took the more festive “island hopper” C208 with upgraded avionics to Nassau to drop off some paying customers, leaving me with the “plane Jane” C208 for the trip to Grand Cayman. I received promises they will shuttle the island hopper down to us in time for the remainder of our island hopping. Received another grand promise from him as well but will have to see if that pans out before mentioning it! Anyway…

Hi there! For those of you, who want to give this great tool for XP11 a try, here are my settings. I tried to achieve a ceratin look, which works during day and night, and most wx situations, maybe you like it. ;-) I´m not using any post processing (Sweet FX, etc.), and all of my shots are completely unedited. When I use xEnviro, I don´t change the art controls additionally (xE changes a lot of art controls, according to the wx and time of day situation, including the ones I usually tweak manually). When I use stock weather, I change some of these figures, using the DataRef Editor. So here are a few shots with xEnviro (1.07), and a few others witout xEnviro (with st…
