I finally got SB to connect and I am lost as to what to do next. I recently started taking flight training, hope to solo in the next couple of weeks, and it isn't this hard in real life. I have read several web pages about how to do get online with SB and I still can't figure out how to do it. One question I have is this. Can you not communicate with SB using RogerWilco? If I had to handle a keyboard and the flight controls at the same time the machine and I would be in smoking heap somewhere.If someone could point me to a SB for dummies page or some other source I would be grateful. I know you can use the AUTOATIS function to get the current ATIS identifer (GOLF, HOTEL, etc..) and info. What is the correct way to do this??I was told at one point that simply typing "autoatis send kphx" for example will do it, however that message simply gets sent out over the channel to all the aircraft!I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain it for me. I managed to get RogerWilco working but I cannot in any way shape or form get SB to connect.I have read many different articles and followed sets of instructions up the ying yang. Do I need FSWide to run SB in FS2002 or do I not need FSWIde?...Do I need to install SB2.1.2 (?) and then SB2.3 or do I not need to. What gives here? I get connected to the net, I run FS2002 and set up my flight plan, set up a multiplayer game, host a session, file a flight plan in SB, choose a server (IVAN_CANADA ?) from the server list. All I can choose from the ATC directory is UNICOM or some other choice (There are only 2) and ultimately I get a error: "timed out". What connects SB to the co…

Hi everybody !When using 2 computers to split Fs2002 and SB+RW, etc,1) on which computer should the internet connection be installed ?2) if it's on the one with SB and not FS2002, then how can the multiplayer sessions work ? Are the those infos being relayed by WideFS over the network ?3) is it possible to have a 3rd PC connected to the network, on which we could use the "instructor" option of FS2002 to give out some failures ? We tried to make that work but looks like it's imperative for the instructor to create the session and the aircraft to koin it. I'm kind of surprised I haven't heard more about this recently... I've just gotten back into flight simming - but - Is this worth getting? Reading the review here seems to indicate that it's so-so, with planes' appearances not actually being random.Is that right?The ATC Simulator website doesn't seem like it's exactly being updated, so maybe that's a bad sign...Andrew

I think A controller can ASR approach in limited condition...But... Can We serve PAR approach to Aircraft?for example, if Some virtual Aircraft's ILS transponder is out of order..I can give him Visual approach or ASR approach..but, if PC can support PAR sector.. Hi All,I'm sure this subject was discussed in the old forum but I can't go back and look. My problem is as long as there are no a/c in sight my framerates and control is fine. As soon as a/c appear in the forward view window, framerates drop and depending on the number of a/c my sim almost quits. This of course completely causes a loss of control, especially trying to intercept an ILS or switch from Approach to Tower freq.I seem to remember something about the CSL Library but wasn't very clear. I started using SB this weekend. My setup is MS FS2K2 and SB 2.3.5.Everything worked fine, but I have one question:is there a better way to change ATC stations (I'm minimizing FS, bringing up the SB main window, choosing the station and maximizing FS again...).This seems to be very unusable to me...FS make a pause everytime I have to switch stations, to change my flightplan,...I'm using Roger Wilco - does it switch channels automatically whenever I switch to another frequency on the plane ??kr,Japhy

Hi All,For months Squawkbox and FS2002 has ran greatly on my WinXP. But the lost couple of days it seems I have some difficulties with the ATC listing and the VS-Europe-C server (the one in Tilburg.I only get the Unicom ATC when I am connected. I can find myself in ServInfo once connected, and Squawkbox connects without problems. Do more people have these problems? I have a LinkSys router and forwarded some of the ports. Is any one using 3D glasses successfully with squawkbox? Since getting myself a pair of wired edimensional glasses (and after getting over the WOW factor - these glasses are scary and make flying on your computer very realistic!), I haven't been able to stay on squawkbox online. It starts OK, but then I always get booted off after it starts - around 10 seconds. I have experienced this problem once in the past, by inadvertently using someone else's callsign - but it was never so quick like this.Could it be my SB version? Where the heck do you get those? I'm trying to get connected following the directions. Doing fine until I had to fill in these fields. I was never asked anywhere, during setup, to GET a Pilot Registration # and password. :-zhelp I have one for VATSIM but it says that they are not the same for IVAO. Hi folks, I am having problems installing SB for 2002. When I run the installation program I get the following error:Error loading type library/dll I have no idea what the problem is and how to fix it. I cannot connect SB to FS2002 on IPX . It works on TCP/IP but as i use DHCP i always have to check the IP .....Situation :WideFS V5.01 start , it start RW (MkId3) + SB 2.3build5The Multiplayer stuff request to choose TCP/IP , IPX .... ,i take IPX, then i click search and i CAN SEE the Multiplayer sessioncreated on FS2002. What ports do I have to open on my hardware firewall to get squawkbox to work properly. Its always looking for a server, and never finds any.
