Mesh Scenery Design - How To

I´m new to mesh creation, but I need to modify the mesh for Faroe Islands, only in some small places to get the correct elevation for some gmax buildings. Gmax is not the correct tool, I want to modify the mesh in an other way if possible. Any advice?? And what tool to use?

Can somebody do this scenery for me please? I've just started making some mesh scenery for FSX using the FSX Resample program from the SDK. This is compiling and working fine however many files which are perfectly normal DEM's (SRTM v4.1) with no peaks are somehow being miscompiled by Resample as once it's finished they have suddenly gained a number of spikes often 20000ft in height or pits of a similar depth. I don't know what's happening here, Resample should only be turning the DEM file into a BGL and not changing the DEM so why it's leaving these spikes in the finished BGL file I don't know but needless to say it's annoying. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to stop this?

Hello!I have installed the HSP-Greece with their Mesh.Around at the ends of the scenery it seems thatall mesh is set to the ground zero.Mountains are cutted to zero, also the water in the greec seas are in an different altitude.i can see these errors in albania, its like an line from east to west.ist there an solution to fix this?EDIT: HSP for FS9.1Alti

I just started using FSX and have it installed on a dedicated Raptor HDD. MyQuestion is, for best performance where should FS Global mesh be installed ? ShouldIt be installed on same HDD with FSX or is it acceptable to install it on a differentHDD ? Is there much of a performance difference either way ?Thank you,Ken Boardman

I hope this is the place where some "guru" can give me a key ....I'm sure this is an old subject... but anyway, could someone help me?Last night flying online to Toronto CYYZ, I noticed the "strange" terrain around the airport.It seems to be an "escavation" all around, and the airport is located in a sort of flat "hill".I noticed that this occurs both with Blueprint CYYZ scenery activated and de-activated, so I argue it's not a scenery-related problem.I attached some screenshots self-explaining.Thanks for any idea.CiaoMaurizio

Hello,I am trying to develop mesh for the Virgin Islands. I've been having a lot of troubles. I've read (and downloaded) tons of guides, but none seem to be working correctly. They all seem to say that I need .hgt files, however no matter what/where I download the mesh, all I get is:-ASTGTM_N18W065_dem.tif-ASTGTM_N18W065_num.tif-n18.dt2-n18w06.bil-n18w06.blw-n18w06.hdr-n18w06.prj-n18w06.stx-METADATA.dbf, .prj, .shp, .shx, .xml-Six .adf files-Arc.dir, arc0000.dat and .nit, arc0001 .dat and .nitI haven't found any .hgt files or anyway to convert to them. I'm not sure what I can do with these files.I did try converting the .bil to .hgt using SRTMFill but the mesh was about 1…

Hello everybody.For a project I'm working on I need to use GPS routes for both FS9 and FSX.I know that the route codeing itself is cross compatible, but how different are the meshes between FS9 and FSX? Would using the same route cause a terrain conflict, or would problems be unlikely?Thanks!

Landclass of a slope between 2 part of terrain, that has different elevations (about 30meters and higher) automatically changed to a green forest ( if elevation difference is about 500m - then it changes to rock). Does it common issue, hardcoded inside fsx or I've got something wrong with my sim? (FSX Acceleration)

I am looking for FSX quality Antarctic scenery and mesh, in particular Mt Erebus, Ross Is. By way of background, it has been 30 years since Air New Zealand lost a DC-10 on the side of Mt Erebus with the tragic loss of 257 lives. As a an RNZAF C130 aircrew member at the time I was involved with body recovery operations but the most significant memory I have of the accident occurred a year afterwards when I crewed a flight which followed the final path of the DC-10 for the benefit of our passengers. I've worn my fingertips raw trying to find FS2004 scenery with landclass that renders all the vegetation reasonably well in North Carolina (specifically) and elsewhere in the general area of the Appalachians, as far west as Lexington or Louisville, KY. There is a lot of groundcover here. Megascenery comes as far south as Richmond, VA, but not quite as far south or west as I'm looking for, and seems to concentrate on metro areas, not rural. Using FS9. I had Emma Field but had not used it in some time and when I entered Emma Field as airport got the MS Error Message - Sorry etc cant' load. Flying from Bremerton when I get approx 10 miles from Emma screen goes to black, engine sounds still on, then goes to MS error box. Have removed EVERYthing to do with LAGO and Emma but still no correction. In my uneducated thought it must be conflict of Emma textures and default. The only addon scenery is Holger Sandman Northern Cascades which should not be in that area. Any ideas on what can be accomplished to fix this? TIA.
