    Hello, I think I remember seeing somewhere where someone had said it is possible to make a water/blend mask for SimSavvy. Can anyone confirm this? Can I just make water and blend masks and place them at a layer above SimSavvy and get the water/blend effects on top of SimSavvy or do I have to completely re-compile a new bgl for that particular area?

    I have a model in maya that I have epxorted using cvxporter script to make a .x file. Make MDL always comes up with 'invalid X file'. It is such a simple shape, for an experiment, just a pyramid with one texture applied. Is anybody out there successfully using Maya and exporting?

    Hi! recently I decided to create my own scenery. I was learning how to design a secenery, create flatten, create buildings, parkings,etc. The problem is that the ATC forces me to land on to head "25", and I want that the ATC send me to land on to head "07" ATC send me land on to head "07" when the wind direction is 70º, but when I use the real wheather obviously, it haven ´t this direction I have configured in the ADEX -Head "25" closed to land Why I want this? Because the aproximate landing its more easy for "07" than "25" Thanks

    Hi This is more directed to people who are familiar with YSSY. As you probably know runway 16L/34R was only built in the 90s. Before that, it was just 16R/34L (then known as 16/34) and 7/25. I am trying to create scenery to replicate YSSY as it was in the 1980s. So far it is going alright, except for one problem. I can not work out how to delete the land underneath where 16L/34R was.   6. Good day, as I've already begun to model the Mo I Rana airport (ENRA) in Norway, in order to create realistic texture, I'm looking for pictures of airport building and surrounding area. I've already collected some photos from google but they're not so useful for texture.     Just flew into KBIL or attempted too. Cant figure out what this issue is. Anyone else have this? The runway is a cliff! LOL Shouldve rerouted but need to land (time constraints) and ended up going around after I realized there really was no runway, and landed on the taxiway. Bizarre. I dont see any KBIL freeware scenery or anything else for that matter. Just a stop on a tour from a VA.

    I am currently testing my radar for boats traffic display which works fine so far. Boat targets, generated by the FSX engine are displayed correct. Addon boats traffic generated by FSX traffic tool and/or with the AIBTC tool are displayed as well correct. Here is my setup: 0: FSX, SP2, Windows XP 1: I generating a boat traffic bgl file for one ship ( e.g. carrier ) . I defined the coords for the route starting point, let's say location A somewhere in the sea. The second route coords for location B which is 100 miles away from location A .     Greetings.Long story short I created a rock formation in Sketchup Sandbox,exported it to Model Converter X to create a Mdl file,a bgl file and a DDS file. I then created a file in Addon Scenery-"Garden of Gods" with subfolders Scenery(containing Mdl and bgl files) and Texture(containing DDS file). I opened FSX,added the file in settings and opened Object Placement Tool.The formation shows up but no texture,just black. I tried converting the DDS to a bitmap with DXTBitmap and got the same results. I notice some of my addon scenery has an XML file and some doesn't.Some addons have a Mdl file and some don't.What am I missing? Thanx in advance. unclegreg

  14. Hi guys, I've had a bit of break from sims for a while but have recently got back into FSX big time. Lots of new developments since I last took a look and I'm have a great time! Growing up 16 miles away from Wattisham the sight and sounds of Lightnings is very close to my heart. So I got very excited about the Just Flight Frightning and had to find a base for it. I'm now getting to the question. I purchased the Team SDB RAF Wattisham for FSX. Which I'm really glad I did because it makes a great home base for my Lightnings with cool AI planes and lots of detail.     I need to add a windsock to my home airport. I'd like to use an mdl file and add a model to ADE. Doesn't matter whether it's animated or not. Any ideas where I can find one? I also tried to use Instant Scenery, but their windsock is all gray for some reason.

    I downloaded and installed several of the NL2000 V4 airports. They are GREAT! I also downloaded the traffic file. I opened the traffic file and it refers to a lot of NLAIS and PAI AI aircraft. Where are all these AI aircraft available? I posted a message on the NL2000 forum and so far have not received any answers. I don't speak or read Dutch. All I have is the default FSX traffic.     Hi all, I am wondering why FSX did not take care about the big rivers in Asia, for example the Menam which goes thru Bangkok and the mighty Mekong, which can only be seen in Vietnam, but not in Thailand. . When I look into FSX's birds eye view, all these big rivers are not showing as they should, except a fraction of the Menam in Bangkok. As I am only a user of FSX not a creator of sceneries, I wonder whether there is a possibility to get these rivers, or create them, but this might be very difficult, I can imagine.     Has anyone been able to install moving jetways on Blueprint's New KIAH scenery. I have the scenery but prefer the default because of the jetway problem with Blueprint's scenery. I understand it is possible by using ADE9 program. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  22. Hello all, I am currently attempting to create a 3D light effect in FSX (Similar to the Shockwave 3D lights). I have managed to create the proper .fx files by simply creating a whole bunch of sprites one in front of the other. However, the effect only works with the default effect textures. I can use fx_2.bmp to create the volume, but I really dislike the way the actual sprites look. So, I have tried creating my own, but simple .bmp files don't seem to work for volumes. Does anyone know how to make .bmp files like the fx_2.bmp (with the odd distortions)? I have no clue why that is needed, but experimentation has pretty much left me with that. Thanks in a…

  25. In creating and compiling AFCAD files in ADE, I have found that I see (as expected) FSX indexing the new scenery details on start-up when I add the AFCAD (.BGL) file. However, if I wish to remove the AFCAD, and do so by either renaming or deleting the .BGL file, FSX does not re-index on subsequent start-up, and I note that pieces of the original scenery are no longer present in FSX. The specific of what I am doing relates to KDEN, gate B33 specifically.
