Hi Folks, Anyone know the name of the texture file used for housing in the Northeast USA ? I need to make some simple houses to blend my scenery with the surrounding autogen and I would like the shape mapped to the the same texture file... Regards, Scott

Hi all- Not sure if I'm in the right forum but here goes. I'm flying more and more with photo scenery and have autogen backed off to sparse. Would turning AG all the way off affect objects at the major airports I fly into? I can't seem to detect a difference with AG set at sparse, but I then again, I don't know how developers use AG at airports, if at all. Thanks, Mark

I have been adding some different approach lights to runways using ADE, most recently ALSF-2 which offers approach lighting to Cat II / III standards. What I note in FSX is that there is no "rabbit" (sequenced flashing lights) in this style of approach lighting (ALSF) , whereas the real thing does have them. Is this some form of limitation in FSX, given the large matrix of red lights in the undershoot zone? Thanks, Bruce.

If anyone out here is still making scenery objects for ADE9x I have a couple of requests. I'm working on an idea for a fictional FS9 MCAS and I'm limited to a nice but small number of objects. I have written to Sid Schwartz (yesterday) about the possibility of more, I'm waiting to hear back and thought I'd ask here too. Here's the short list: MV-22 Osprey in gray UH-1N in gray CH-46 in gray LCAC LAV AAVP-7 Another thing I think would be cool would be small formations of soldiers. Excuse me if this topic has already been discussed before. I have been trying to change the ILS frequencies at EINN from the FSX default of 109.5 to the correct 110.95. using ADE9x without sucess. I am hoping that there is a simple procedure for doing this. I get as far as compiling the airport and at this point there are errors. Or maybe there is a better way to acheive the same thing. Bob

I have a couple questions regarding making photoreal scenery using fsearthtiles... First, If I generate bgl's that overlap each other, does that cause any kind of issue in FSX? Is it a performance issue? Will it cause crashes? Or, is FSX smart enough to just figure it out? Second, I'm trying to make photoreal scenery for whole countries, so large areas. Anyone out there that has done this that can suggest a good method to keep track of what you've already completed? Also, how do you deal with shorelines? I'd like to stick to the Lat/Lon grid to make keeping track easier but if I select areas that include tiles that are too far off shore and thus, no image…

I am working on animating a series of ferries. I have successfully managed to compile a traffic file and have one ferry go back and forth between two terminals with a slight delay at each end of the route. My problem is that for some reason a copy of the ferry model stays static at the start end (route) of the terminal, while another copy of the ferry moves back and forth between the terminals. I don not know why this is. There is no static object placed here. The boat is an AI object which I control with the Route, Boat and Plan associated with this object. I've been using ADE9x for a while now, mostly to modify and update existing airfields and making a couple of original airfields that are uncontrolled. For about the last year I have been planning a very large scenery that I have already started for the northern end of the Gulf of Baja, this is a mega sized international airport that will need to have tower control. The problem is, with original airports made in ADE9x, as far as I know, there is no way to have them "controlled". The airport is being made for FS9, it's called Baja Norte International and is located at N31 44.5 by W114 50.30. There are two runways, one is 9000X200, the other is 7000X200. So far I have 12…

LS, I'm writing to you because of a problem I have with two islands in FS9. Namely Bonaire and Curacao (where I live). It seems both islands and thus their airports are misplaced within the FS world. When placing my aircraft on the Aerodrome Reference Points (ARP) as published I end up a few hundred feet off to the South of the runway. If only the airport placement was corrected, you would notice that it would not corellate to it's spot on the small island (too far inland). I extended a runway, and now the original ILS antenna that was at the end is now on the runway. Not sure how to delete it. I have ADE and Instant Scenery. With ADE, it doesn't look like you can use a polygon to delete the antenna. I'm not sure if I added the antenna originally with Instant Scenery, or if it is stock FSX. I haven't used Instant Scenery in awhile, and I can't recall how to select objects with it in FSX in order to delete objects. I know I used to be able to open individual object bgl's from my Addon Scenery folder for that airport, but now my Instant Scenery libraries do not include BGL's from Addon Scenery. Can someone help?

I have been using Microsoft's Bing Maps' Bird's Eye Views for reference in creating buildings for airport scenery. I now find that Bing Maps displays nothing. I read that they have updated their imagery, which is good, but my ability to do any airport scenery creation has now been terminated due to lack of reference material. Are other's also unable to access Bing Maps? The attached image is all I am able to get.

I haven't used ADEX for some time, and forgot how to complie BGL files. I modified an airport and saved it as an ad2 file. How do I get this converted to a bgl? Also, I tried to open the Environment Checker and it says it stopped working and won't open. How do I fix this?

Do you know any piece of scenery of orbx or any other scenery developer that has a realistic size of houses and trees. I know that autogen is about 2 times bigger that real life in order to conserve a good fps, that is alredy disscused on the forums here, but does anybody know scenery that can give us, virual pilots, an experience as realistic as posible in terms of autogen size. Oversized Autogen size gives a false impression of heihgt above terrain!

Hello folks, Is there a freeware BGL Compiler that ADE9X can use to compile the airports I create for FSX? Having read many different topics in a variety of Forums I think I already know the answer to this. I have Scruffyducks fantastic ADE9X airport design program and have been using it in FS9 for a long time. I discovered that my ramp textures for several default airports look really strange! So far I have seen this effect at KSEA, KORD, KPHX, and KSFO. Please see the attached screenshot of the ramp at KSEA. At first it looked like the ramps were covered with default ground textures, but as I changed and rotated my view of the aircraft I found that the real texture appeared to be visible "under" the ground texture! What could possibly be causing thie effect on a default airport? I have other custom airports and perhaps a critical texture file was overwritten. I found an airport in the library to replace KPHX and all was OK, but what is going on with the default airports …
