I found what appears to be a very interesting and helpful gauge, but I've never installed one so I'm pretty lost. The gauge is called Terravue by Greg Copeland, and it does come with very detailed instructions and a tutorial. However, since I'm all thumbs with computer lingo,I'm having a heck of a time getting it to work.I sent an e-mail to Mr. Copeland asking if he could send me an image of how the panel.cfg should look after placing it there, but he has not replied. I hope that maybe someone that has this gauge can reply,or at least guide me through the correct steps.I thought I was careful when adding all the information to the Cessna 172 panel cfg file, but apparently someth…

I have made a two way switch which, turns the beacon light on and off, but as it only toggles the beacon on/off using KEY_TOGGLE_BEACON_LIGHTS, it is about as useful as a chocolate tea pot. It works fine if you are only using the panel it is in and are starting a new flight. But if for example you load the default B737-400, and turn on the beacon lights on that panel, then load the panel with this switch on it, the switch then works the wrong way around. I have tried adding if BEACON_LIGHTS on beacon_switch on else off, as well as many different alternative, all compile but still have the same problem. I have also tried to code it differently, on the lines of the SDK fuel…

I know this goes against the whole realism aspect of things however, I would like to add an Autothrotle to an ATR72 . What, if any, changes can be made to the cfg to enable this aircraft to have A/T.I'm sure I read something years ago regarding adding a A/T function onto props but I've not pulled anything up on a "search"below is a copy of the aircraft.cfg[fltsim.0]title=ATR72-500 Aurignysim=atr72 500model=panel=sound=texture=aurchecklists=kb_checklists=atr72_500_checkkb_reference=ATR72_500_refdescription=ATR72-500 Beta 1 n© 2001-2002 Francisco S

Actually I probably haven't even got that far yet. I've been messing with MS Flight sims since floppy disc days, the big ones!, done some rearranging of files, modified scenery and panels and done some fairly respectible paints and some dash grapics but have yet to get my feet wet with doing any gauges. I'm still in the middle of reading what I've found so far and waiting for some of that to sink into the couple brain cells I have left. As background I fly mostly old and slow stuff at tree top level but would like to add a few modern conveniences without them showing up like a sore thumb. So now for the torrent of probably stupid questions: My first question would be how…

After getting my airspeed gauge to work with help from this forum, Thanks, I thought I might try a ECAM, as that uses needles and strings, so I am trying to code an A380 upper ecam. The needle bit is easy after doing the airspeed gauge, but getting the string to show is proving more difficult. The code I have compiles, with 2 warnings but shows up in FS9. The needle bit works as it should do, but the string just shows up %3d. I have seen a few other post with this problem and tried some of the suggestion, but nothing seem to work, I still get 2 warnings when compiling and the string show %3d in FS9. I'm making an FSX helicopter based on the R-22 flight model. When you go into a steep dive and reach a high speed, the controls become ineffective, and you plummet to your death. In itself this isn't a problem; the pilot is simply getting his lumps for exceeding the redline speed. But the effect is not convincing: it doesn't spin wildly out of control, but descends in a perfectly straight line as if it were on rails. What I'd like to do is trigger an overstress when a certain speed or G-force is reached, so that you never experience the unrealistic dive. I read in a post on this forum that you can control overstress in the rec 1101 section of the .air file, but this has no…

I am currently working on a Hobbs meter (Counting hours of engine/flight time) in C++ and have come to a bit of a road block. My code needs to store an initial value for CLOCK_TOTAL_SECONDS upon loading the sim. The problem I am having is storing this value and preventing it form updating each cycle. All I wont to to is capture what the value is when the sim loads and store it as a static value. Any advice or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated as its starting to do my brain in.CheersPaul

Having tried to get help in other forums I come here seeking a couple of answers - hope you gauge guru's can be of help.I am attempting to help a friend who has both FS2004 and FS2002 installed. The tachometer and two other gauges on the default EXTRA-300 will not display digits for him - only dashes as seen in the picture attached. It displays this way for him in both FS versions. We have tried ALL of the usual checks and even had him install a copy of my gauge - which works perfectly on my system. Nothing fixes the problem. It has been suggested that perhaps the gauge cannot find the font it needs to display digits.Do such gauges use fonts which are in FS or the fonts …

Hi,With my current setup I am looking for the best solution for my display. I have a 19" LCD screen which I want to use for my gauges, GPS and ATC window. On my 84" screen (projector) I want to display the scenery only. How would you setup-up the displays. I would prefer to see the different camera views when I press the "S" key on the 19" screen. So basically, at all times, my main view is on the projector and my alternate display on the 19" . Let me know how you would do it, if there is a gauge suggestion i could download.ThanksMarc PIntel Dual Core E2140NVidia 8800GTS 640mb2Gig RAMWinXP Pro SP22 x 250gig 7200 RMP WD HDD19" LCD screen84" screen 720p/1080i projector

After programming XML for the last couple of years, I thought I might try my hand at C++. I have downloaded Dai Griffiths Gauge Creation Tutorial Rev.23, and after reading it, thought I would try and do a simple airpseed gauge, one background, one needle. After looking at code in the Gauge Creation Tutorial, and looking at the SDK, I have worked out where all the files go, ie master source, header, bitmaps etc. I have then wrote the code I think will work and compiled it. As I expected I had a few errors, which after looking for a fair few hours I mave manages to iron out all of them except two, and I can not work out why I get them. The Code://B307 Airspeedchar airspeed_g…

Hi guys,I have a serious problem with export my Airbus A310 virtual cockpit to fs9. First two facts: polygon count 47463 mdl size 2.8 mbThe virtual cockpit worked just fine until yesterday. I created the geometry for the ACARS and tried to export it. It actualy exported but in flight simulator some parts are not where they belong to be. I could not find the reason for this because the model exported well and that's why there was no log-file. Now I figured out that when I export the vc without e.g. the overhead everything is fine. During export I cough the log-file and this is what it tells me:Running CockpitsStart! (D:Flight Simulator 9AircraftA3…

Hello, I have this single engine plane,When i'm on the tarmat with parking brakes "on" and i give just a little bit of throttle, the left wheel digs halfway into the tarmat? (by the way,it's a taildigger, with piston engine). When on idle everything is fine,if i take parking break "off" and apply again just a little throttle the plane moves quickly (turns) to the left? I downloaded some tutorials about .air and .cfg files, and stuff about MOI etc..but don't fully understand or know the proper setting to input to correct this problem. Please help.
