Hey,I've recently been in a 737-800 cockpit and I got lots of photos for a panel. I took the photos with one of the highest quality cameras on the market ( 10 megapixel canon 400d ). Now, I have turned the panel to indexed colour and put it on flight sim ( my panel is 1024-768 ). However, the panel looks like it has been magnified a few times. It's hard to explain so look at the picture attachments. Can anybody tell me why this is happening? What do I need to do? Edward, you're good at this, could you help me? Thanks guys!attachment 1 - when it's on flight simattachment 2 - in photoshop ( indexed colour )regardsJonathanLove the smell of jet fuel in the morning!

Hi all, (A:Kohlsman setting hg, inHG) (A:SEA LEVEL PRESSURE, inHG) == Can't get this equal because they both give too many decimal places. How can you reduce it to give only two places.

I'm working on a three-engine bird and what I'd like to do is have the left engine draw fuel from left main, the right engine draw fuel from right main and the centre engine draw fuel from left & right aux tanks. Currently FS shows all three engines sucking from left & right aux tanks. Has anyone else run into this problem and if so, what was the solution? Changes to the .air or .cfg file?Many thanks.-Dai

Here's something I'm working on, and it seems I've hit a brick wall. I am modeling a GMAX airplane model which has an extremely detailed suspension linkage. It consists of a wheel on a suspension arm that moves up and down and is dampened by a damper.It also consists of a pushrod for steering - a rod that pushes the wheel left and right. This rod is connected to the steering linkage on one end, and to the wheel on the other end. So, this rod moves the wheel left and right, plus it moves up and down with the wheel suspension. One end of the rod is attached to the wheel that moves up and down, and the other end to the steering linkage that moves right-left. I'm using L_Gear…

I am casting the net a little wide for this one, my apologies for cross-posting.I'm tinkering with a package for some AI gliders in FS9.Previous work has been done by Bert de Bruin, using motor glider files modified by Alan Kaiser (stemme.air) and aircraft.cfg files modified for Wolfgang Piper

1. How many feet/meters per second does the pushback truck push the plane back by default?2. Is there a way to force the FSX pushback truck to stay connected to the aircraft? My pushback gauge involves the pushback stopping for split second right before the turn (left or right). This was the only way I could get left and right turns to work, but this results in the FSX pushback truck going back to its starting point (even though the push is still continuing).Cheers,Bryan

Hello all...I'm curious if Cabin Altitude Pressure and Cabin Temperature can be realistically simulated, and if so, what .XML math formulas would be required to do this.I would like to include:Cabin Pressure,Cabin Altitude,and Cabin Altitude Rate, + or -Any ideas as to how to program this?Also, I'm unable to find the variable to find Airport Landing Altitude. Is there a way to display the landing altitude of the selected airport in a flight plan?Any help here would be greatly appreciated.Regards,Kevin

Hi all,Eighteen months to two years ago, I was helping a now collapsed developer/publisher with paints for a great project. Unfortunately the publisher ceased activities and the plane never reached fruition.I am looking for that plane maker - maybe we can get together and do something. It was/still is a great looking model and I may be able to coax and cajole some extra help such as FDE and Instruments. At least I have some able acquaintances who may be able to get involved.I don't want to give too much away, but if you were the modeller, then please get in touch. I will only reveal a couple of clues - you'll know who you are. The plane:BiplaneAerobaticSquare wingtipsBloo…

As a devoted user of Tile Proxy and its 30cm resolution i am a happy camper, to be able to see what is actually there makes every trip in sim like a brief vacation , ground details , parked cars, even the lines on the soccer fields or tractors working the fields are visible , the only fly in the ointment is the FSX road system dosn't line up with the real ones and is out of scale in some cases.The road network as rendered with TP looks perfect where it is on its own and so the question , can one "turn off" the roads generated by the Sim ?, i see no entry in the .cfg for this and its never been mentioned in any post i have read , about the only thing i can think of is maki…

I need a timer code for my Transponder ident light, according to the information I have, when the ident button is pressed the light then lights up for 18 seconds and then goes off.I came up with this:BOOL FSAPI ident_button ( PPIXPOINT relative_point, FLAGS32 mouse_flags ){ if (ident_light_position == 0) ident_light_position = 1; if (ident_light_position == 1) { lookup_var(&seconds); //Get elapsed time time = seconds.var_value.n; ident_time = time + 18; //Add 18 seconds } return FALSE;}Then in the PANEL_SERVICE_PRE_UPDATE: lookup_var(&seconds); //Get current time time = seconds.var_value.n; if (ident_light_position == 1 && time…

Is there a simple fix? I have an animated pilot - a much modified gmax Jenny pilot.I have merged him into my aircraft in gmax and yes there he is in external and in the VC. Question - how do I surpress him in the VC but still leave him visible in the external view. The MS Piper Cub does it (with an even better pilot), but there are no clues as to how it is achieved.I am running FS9 & gmax.RegardsKeith

Hi all. I'm pretty new to gauge design, and wanted to ask some questions regarding XML gauge code processing. 1) One of my fundamental assumptions about the way FS2004 processes XML gauge code is as follows: if an entire element is subject to a condition, and that condition is not met, then the code within the element is essentially ignored, and thus there should be no performance hit. Is this assumption of mine true? Could you have, say, 10 complex elements of this type, with only one in fact "visible" at a certain time, and expect it to run as efficiently as if the gauge had only the one element to begin with? Or is there a certain level (and what IS that level? ;-) of…

Hi everybody,I'm trying to simulate a carburetor for a A-20C Havoc.You know that kind of carb that has the four positions, FULL RICH (or EMERGENCY), AUTO RICH, AUTO LEAN and IDLE CUT-OFF, and that were used on many of the WWII US aircrafts and more (and that is not simulated by FS and even not CFS!!!).I think it won't be very difficult to programm a gauge that controls the mixture ratio like the carb would do.But here is the problem: what is really doing that kind of carb?I'm not talking about the idle position. That I understand... I think... Well, it's gonna be long... so if you perfectly know how such a carb is working, you may don't read what is following, which is wr…

Okay, I've been tinkering a lot more with XML macros lately, and can't believe I haven't relied on them a LOT more. I've done a forum search and have seen this topic touched on only slightly, so I'll ask....Asume we have little snippets of code / calculations that we'll need to use more than once in our gauge, and since used in several sub-elements, we'll need to declare / define them at the very top. We could use......the macro method:calculationscalculationscalculationsor.... the L:Var method: calculations (>L:Var1) calculations (>L:Var2) calculations (>L:Var3)I'm now having some trouble understanding why anyone would ever use the L:Var method *within a single …

Hello, in a VC that was causing slow framerate i elliminated whole bunch of useless gauges and now the framerate is very very smooth: like, when the VC moves and tilts when Active Camera is on, there is absolutely no fragmented movement like in the beginning. Also the landscape outside the windows unrolls smoothly now...However the gauges are extremely slow: one increment per second! The same gauges in the 2D cockpit are smooth like honey.So i thought, there must be some variable that defines the gauges refresh-rate somewhere, can you help please? Is it in some .cfg file?forgive my ignorance and thank you for your attention!R
