Hi,how can I open a texture .bmp file? I use Photoshop Elements and did some repaints already for Fly! 2 without any problem. Unfortunately I can't open any of FS2002 texture files. The error message says, it's a wrong file format.Do I need to convert the texture .bmp files first or what else am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated.Thanks in advance

I have got hundreds of materials in my Gmax material editor and it is causing delays of up to 25 seconds for the material editor to appear or do anything with it. Does anyone know to easily delete the clones without having to wait up to 25 seconds per each action?Or even better.. remove all materials in one go and start again?Thanks,Rotorhead.

hiI plane to build a G max SU27, Anybody know how to make a good afterburner effect ?Can it be done on G max as a part ? ( the flame, which change the size)also What is the TAG for the nozzle ? ( which I like to make it closed and opened when using the throttle )thanks in advance Danny

After spending two weeks and about 14 hours with GMAX I have to say we need two types of tools. One set for those who either work full time in the 3D design industry or have the time to get to that level of skill and another set of tools for the rest. People in this forum are very helpful. But there is a missing bunch of "links" that would put the whole design process together in a logical step by step way. There is a "hidden art" element to this that is very frustrating. Microsoft seems to have justed dumped Gmax on us. Thankfully some understand what to do and we are getting more and more Gmax aircraft. I bet Gmax could be the subject of a year long college course in 3D…

Hi,I have been away from this hobby for a few months now. I am finally able to resume flying!!!! My question is, has the problem with third party auto pilot been fixed? I mean, has anyone figured out how to use the altitude hold like FS2000? I would like to be able to select the altitude hold button and still be able to change course manually.Thanks,Tom

Is there a way to tell a window to be automatically undocked via the panel.cfg? I have a two monitor setup and would like certain panel windows to always appear on monitor #2 by default. Any hints?Thanks!-Florian

i use photoline 32 graphics editor which is more like photoshop than anything else (can't afford ps pro). the textures on my model do not show up in fs2002...there must be something i'm missimg. in fsds the textures look great...they just don't show up in fs2002. i'm fairly close to my wits end...any help greatly appreciated.

In the tutorial I cant seem to get the same blue dot verticesthat show in the tutorial text. I am following the same proceduresas outlined. Any ideas?Thanks.- Kevin

I am trying to use the Material Editor to add a simpletexture that comes in the tutorials/materials folder tomy first aircraft. It appears in Gmax but not in FS2002.I placed the texture in the aircraft's texture folder. Thatdid not help. Can you guys?Thanks.- Kevin

Is there any "officially" posted information with regard to setting the forward view from the flight deck for FS2002? I remember seeing something on FS2000 about setting the view at .55, but I have seen nothing on it for FS2002. Also, any baseline recommendation on setting the View_Forward_DIR angle in the panel config file? I have seen it range from 0 to 4.5.ThanksSteve

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the field of view that's used when using the left & right views in fs2k2? I don't know what the default is now, but I'd like to adjust it enywhere from 120 to 180 degrees.Thanks!g.-- http://www.f15sim.com - The only one of its kind.

i have some questions about a model (piper cherokee) i made with fsds. i assigned it the cessna 182 skylane airfile (and i have no idea, just yet on how to tweak air files).1. added all the scrape and gear points and the model sinks into the ground and crashes. 2. how do you center your model...the documentation says drag it to 0,0,0. i have tried this and can't seem to get it correct. any tips would be appreciated.3. when i did manage to slew the model up to about 5000ft (before it had a chance to crash) it flew very unstable and was all but uncontrolable.any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello All,First let me say that I am sorry for the sad story I'm about to tell you.Wednesday, May 29th, 2002 my best friend past away. He was my 8 year old dog named Gizmo. He has been very ill on and off over the past several years with multiple operations and treatments, medications, and special food. hi. is anyone planning on making a DF guage. this would be very usefull for some of us who simulate Search and Rescue operations with flightsim. the guage would act like a DF needle however would pick up either a VOR. DME, or ADF frequency on its own without effecting the other guages.right now the only way i know of to set an ELT/EPIRB signal is by creating one of those frequencies near the target.Gen. Hello, I designed in Gmax a person that should behave like an FS vehicule, walks etc.. (check the screenshot attached ; I did not put texture on it yet). I set the keyframes for the moving legs and arms when walking but since I am not an aricraft designer, i do not know how to make the guy animates when we apply power for it to move. I know there are tags etc in Gmax for aircraft parts animations but in case of a non aircraft object, how can we make the legs and arm move. Should we give them aircraft part names? Can you please give me hints to do that? (screenshot attached)Thanks!Michel

If anyone has any ideas about these I'd be very grateful. 1. I've produced a new start-up smoke effect for my Connie design, but now the other small piston engined aircraft share the same effect. The Aircraft Container SDK tells us that different effects can be assigned in the aircraft.cfg file. I just started flight sim 2002, but when atc starts , there is no sound by the controllers or my copilot?, and everything is checked for sound, and the sound is up all the way, i hear every other sound except for that.
