FSX/FSX-SE Aircraft and Panel Design Forum - How To

I've used Peter McCleland's excellent Dreamfleet panel-FFX merge for the 737-400. I was wondering whether it also works for the FFX 737-300 and 737-500s, or what needs to be done to make it work.Thanks for any hints

Hi All Sorry about the double post. I've rescent downloaded the file Dauphin_365F, from www.hovercontrol.com with modified versions of Antti's Dauphin/Panther helicopter. They look very nice but everytime I select one or start a situation with one of them, the helicopter just keeps bouncing all the time! I have to bring it to a hover, land it and then it stops bouncing! I believe it has something to do with contact points. I've tried to tweak with the contact points on the aircraft.cfg file but couldn't get it to stop bouncing once I select them. Any suggestions?ThanksLeo

Hi all -I am wondering if anyone can explain the way MSFS 2004 uses aircraft. Here's the problem. I have a bunch of aircraft in my fs9 Aircraft directory - many of them are "AI" aircraft. Some of them show up in MSFS as "aircraft" and some (most) do not. Is there some trick that FS9 uses to distinguish or put aircraft into the flyable list of aircraft at run time? Hi,I am currently building an aircraft in GMAX for use with FS2004. Everything worked out fine so far exept for the windows. I have blueish windows with a transparancy applied as an alpha chanel in the texture. When loading the aircraft in FS2004 I can see inside the aircraft but all the parts that have an animation applied do not appear when looking through the windows. For example I can see the cabin, seats etc., but no doors, pilot, moving switches in the cockpit. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I LOOK THROUGH THE WINDOOWS. As soon as I open the door and look inside the cabin everything is there.Anybody have any idea what I am doing wrong? I have played around with converting t…

hey, would it be possible for someone to make me a view id like. What I had in mind, is an actual picture from a window seat, but facing more forwards than sideways, so I can get the inflight effect, but see down out the window too.All you need to do is find a picture like that on airliners.net or take one yourself (i.e if you work with planes or something just sneak into 1 and take a quick shot, make sure it fits in fs, and then change the window to black so i can view out of it in fs thanks in advance.p.s please make sure it is a real photo, not just designed through FS or something, as a real photo would really make it look Uber-Cool :(

Do you know a way to determine in a gauge if the sound of FS is currently on or off?As I play gauge sounds in my code, I wouldn't like these sounds to play if the FS sound is off...Eric

What I have is a numerous Aircraft Folders, each with a differing Aircraft.cfg, AirFile.air but using the same Model.MDL.e.g.Aircraft > Aircraft A > Aircraft B > Aircraft CNow, all these aircraft use the same model as I mentioned. I had the idea though, that for ease of updating, and to reduce Disk Usage that I would use a seperate folder, that would contain the Model/Panel/Sound CFG/Files.With that in mind, I read the Aircraft Container SDK, and setup aliasing.Aircraft > Aircraft Model [ normal=Aircraft ] > Aircraft A Model [alias=Aircraft/Model/] …

I downloaded the beautiful Kirk Olsson F-16D. The strobe switch will not stay engaged. It pops off when engaged. The strobes don't work. I'm having problems maintaining tourque on my latest project. the tourque falls off pretty quickly above 14,000 feet. the airfile is based on the king air and I've done everything I can think of to the cfg but nothing helps except increasing the power scalar and prop thrust scalar but then it has way too much power on the ground. I have a number of panels that I'd like to rearrange the pop-up windows so they're consistent from plane-to-plane, so for example, shift-3 opens GPS, shift-4 opens radio stack, etc for all panels. I know how to do this in panel.cfg, I'm just wondering if the various sections in panel.cfg have to appear in numerical order, or can they jump around? For example, is this OK:......Thanks,Dan

Hi, have just downloaded brian Williams 747 panel, and installed OK into POSKYS 747-200. All works as advertised, except that the egt tapes remain fixed at the bottom of the range..no movement on throttle increase. Has anyone else tried this panel, and with what result? Stuart.

I have been trying to place gauges in some of my VC panels. Sometimes the gauges perform OK and sometimes not. Is there a tutorial or explanation of placing gauges in the VC's. Does the model file place the original gauges at specific positions in the panel thus preventing the addition of addon gauges by users since their positons are not called out in the model?
