I locate a gauge in the panel cfg at ie:400,200. I try to overlay it with a window at the 400,200 location but it is not even close. Can get there but is all trial and error. the bmp is 819 x 600 pixels Main[Window00]file=main.bmp file_1024=main.bmp size_mm=640,480window_size_ratio=1.00 position=4visible=1ident=MAIN_PANELwindow_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000[Window06];file=WIND_BROWN.bmpsize_mm=55,72window_size_ratio=1.000 ;position=7visible=1ident=Wind_Speedwindow_pos=0.625,0.605gauge00=cpt.windspeed, 0,0,55,72trying to over lay this gaugegauge61=CPT.F16!Radar, 400,290,55,72the above definitions do what i want but I can't figure the locations by any math…

In the real jets, like the Boeing and Airbus, when you are 1000 ft. from your target altitude, there is an audible alert tone. My question is, I KNOW that somewhere surely, someone has made this guuge, or knows how. I sure would like to have one in my panels so I can feel like I'm in the cockpit. Any suggestions? Thanks.Capt. Wes

Hey,Something I havn't been able to 'get' is a speedtape gauge, I've tried looking at a few (Including Default 747), But I just don't see the relationship of the Axis and where the nonlinitary table fits in.For example It may say Value 0 position is something like 534 X 786 However when looking at the bitmap and finding this position it is no where '0'.Can anyone give some insight on how it works and the basic methods of constructing one?Currently I have my speedtape bitmap and Mask set up, I just can't get anything after that :(thanks

I wrote the following test to see what I would get tuning in on a localizer. I am surprised and puzzled. When I use this I get ILS/GS/DME/BC 1, -1, -1, 131 on an ILS/GS/DME ILS/GS/DME/BC 1, -1, 0, 131 on an ILS/BC/DMEAll A:Vars are boolean according to the Panel SDK. Never knew they could give -1. let alone 131I took the liberty to see what I would get changing FLAGS into FLAGIt will give 0 in both cases. That doesn't make sense either.How can I tell what kind of ILS I am approaching?This stuff doesn't make a lot of sense to me.Am I overlooking something?Roelof %LOC %((A:Nav1 has localizer,bool))%!5d!%DME %((A:Nav1 has dme, bool))%!5d!%GSL %((A:Nav1 has glide slope, boo…

My last gauge, CleatVu1, has generated some confusing emails. The gauge is only a toggle switch that works by addressing the K:SEE_OWN_AC_ON and K:SEE_OWN_AC_OFF variables. When turned on, the visual obstruction from the aircraft are not seen when looking outside the cockpit. The gauge seems to work as intended in the default FS aircraft where it was tested. But, when installed in some 3rd party AC, downloaders report the gauge does not function at all. When they turn the gauge on, they still see the interior of the aircraft. They also write that the gauge works fine when it was installed in other 3rd party aircraft.Has anyone experienced this with their own gauges? If so…

Hi thereI'm trying to get at the location of aircraft.cfg orthe air filename from withing a module. I've readthe posts on getting information through execute_calculator_code aircraft_vargetand even tried scanning through FS' other modulesLinkage data to see where that is kept but to noavail atm.Anyone know by now? (and yes, i'm not using fsuipc)Thanks and regardsNils

Does anybody know what pgauge->x_adjust and pgauge->y_adjust represent? They are fractional numbers, and I assume they have something to do with positioning of the gauge on the panel.The variable pgauge->position.x and pgauge->position.y seem to tell me a position, but those appear to be relative to something other than the top of the screen, perhaps relative to the top of the panel background? The variable pgauge->size_x_mm and size_y_mm tell me the size as specified in panel.cfg, but I'm not sure if those are of any use with regards to finding a gauge's absolute position on the FS window.So 2 questions:1. What are x_adjust and y_adjust?2. If position.x…

Ok...So I've spent more time editing the PSS 777-200LR than flying it (holy unfinished product, Batman), but I've almost got the #### thing working perfectly. Just one more thing:A crosswind affects this bird like it was a cessna, in fact worse than that. With a crosswind component of more than 15 degrees it is impossible to land and stay on the runway. So my question is, which parameter do I edit to reduce this? I'm comfortable editing either the aircraft.cfg file or the .air file with AirEd.Thanks in advance for any help rendered...- daniel

Does anyone know of a formula to calculate transition levels from local QNH given a specific transition altitude? There are tabels that will give you a matrix showingTA's with corresponding TL's depending on various ranges of QNHThey are all rounded to units of 500 feet.TL 30, 35, 40, 45 etc. up to 100I am wondering how they make this tabel and program that in XML.Roelof

Hi all, I have found that autobrake does not work if there are multiple contact points for the gear wheels. That is, if the model has 4 right wheels (contact points)to model a 4 wheel bogie. This is the case with an XML autobrake gauge. Apparently, C type gauges work ok. Anyone know a fix when using XML gauge code?cheers,nick

Would like to know if it is possible to take a sound (in this case a parking brake) and put it into another aircraft. This sound adds alot and I would like it in several of my planes, but I cannot figure out how to, or if it is possible. Thanks in advance for the info.Regards,Joe

Hi there!I'm working on an Ag-cat for FS9 and I need some help.In the real plane, the parking brake lever hooks onto the control stick to lock the flight controls - the stick and the control surfaces cannot move when the parking brake is applied. Is there a way to do this in the model?I expect an XML gauge will be required...Thanks!Marcel

I am try to simulated an apu, I have made the L Var switch and Gauge. I am basing it on the 737-300 apu so when you start the apu the gauge in my case a EGT goes up and stays on 400, the the switch then goes back to on.My problem is I can not get the switch to move the needle on the EGT gauge.I click the switch to start and the needle in the EGT gauge stays put.This is the switch XML(L:APU Switch, bool)APU Switch(L:APU Switch, bool) 1 - 0 max (>L:APU Switch, bool)(L:APU Switch, bool) 1 + 2 min (>L:APU Switch, bool)And this is my L Var EGT Gauge.(L:APU EGT, celsius)Also is it possible to make the needle go slowly to 400 as I am guessing that it would just go straight…

Well I'm finally getting around to doing some VC work, and unfortunately I haven't been able to find the right answer to this. I'm sure it's there someplace, but nothing seems to apply.My MFDs work great using Bill's emissive backlighting technique (at night with the light switch on), but once it's off, they no longer illuminate. What needs to be done so that a VC gauge will retain it's luminance regardless of the time of day or position of the light switch?I'm looking to retain a similar look to XML's Bright="Yes" property in the VC.Thanks,--Jon

I live near KCKB, the C-23 is referbushed or overhauled here. I have the AI Shorts SD3-30 but is is a solid grey no windows or any other texture at all. I have tried some suggestions but with no results. I would like to have a version of the AI Shorts SD3-30 with windows and other texture, no lettering would be required, although one with the West Virginia Air National Guard included, would be nice I also have the the Sherpa22 with good texture but no prop anination.If someone would help me, and email me a working copy for FS2004, and return address, I would gladly senmd a CD of my West Virginia and area VTP amd LWM texture with Clarksburg and Bridgepot city streets, and …

Hi Tom,I want to use your technique for IAS rolling numbers and want the 10's and 100's to roll over. Your example formula to date did not show a formula for 10's.I have A:Airspeed select indicated or true, knots) sp9 l9 int 10 @2 pow % 10 @2 1 - @1 1 - - 0 max pow / intthen A:Airspeed select indicated or true, knots) 10 % for the units@E1IASDigit(1,1) s3 8 >= l3 8 - 2 / * @E1IASDigit(1,2) + for the 10's@E1IASDigit(2,2) s2 80 >= l2 80 - 20 / * @E1IASDigit(1,3) + for the hundredsI cannot get the 10's to work properly. When the units are rolling from 8 to 10, the 10's flick, say, from 5 to 5.5 then flick to 6. They do not roll smoothly from 5 to 6. What's wrong with,…

in XML, how would i write;x=r*cos bwhere r=(A:INCIDENCE ALPHA, degrees) b=(A:Attitude indicator bank degrees,degrees)for a hud, where pitch ladder's 'x' matches the AOA's 'X' position through rotation( if radians is easier thats fine, so long as i can scale it to 25 pixels per degree )
