  1. Sure makes me suspicious when they say the project "reimagined" the idea of a console, and will play both XBox and PC games. I basically have that today, it's called Steam Remote Play lol
  2. I will laugh so hard I may never recover if this is launched and revealed to basically be a thin client for streamed content
  3. FSS seems to have a real issue with WASM crashes across products - I haven't really been able to complete a flight in the 727 either, consistently WASM will crash sometimes before takeoff. Shame to hear it's happening so much with the EJets too, have been steadily reporting these as I encounter them but they don't seem to have or be pursuing a fix...
  4. Certainly not ready for deployment today - but a great step in the right direction! Anything that gets these products off the (very expensive) commercial compute roller coaster will be good for customers and enable more features. The biggest issue with SI right now, imo, is that it's got a lot of partially baked features that are interesting, but use a ton of compute. At least this would be a step in the right direction.
  5. I wonder if either SI or BATC will look at going with Qwen3-TTS - open source, voice design as easy as Eleven Labs, so much less expensive than premium price AI compute. Could really change the math on both services, the voice quality is excellent. https://huggingface.co/spaces/Qwen/Qwen3-TTS
  6. VPNs are sometimes to blame for this - a couple times a day I'll encounter a link or something that just doesn't work or throws Forbidden and it works fine once I log out of the VPN. Probably Cloudflare etc. IP blacklisting the VPN server
  7. Here's the problem - if enough of you will this into existence, and it will come true. What have they done since release? - Steady improvements to the aircraft - Sounds like the -300/400 are coming along nicely - They bent to all of the ridiculously loud whining about not understanding the pricing model - EFB enhancements, new flight model for the winglets 737-5, sound rework coming So, frankly, what are you expecting? If you just don't like them, you can say that, but saying they aren't "bother[ing] to improve their game" just isn't a fair assessment of the developer. I can't even say that about devs I would argue are more malicious actors in the space!
  8. Granted the Imaginesim came out around the same time my last PC exploded, but I've tried flying in there a few times and get absolutely horrendous performance, I'm not expecting much better with ini but with Imaginesim we know we're not getting supported updates and if there's a memory leak it could go unaddressed for years. Will probably pick this one up, switching to 2024 finally anyways.
  9. There were so many things kicking around in the Load Manager that had been implemented back in FS9 and P3D days that I'm sure there was a lot of fat to trim. Would imagine stuff like the W&B got moved into the sim, getting rid of that duplication, etc.
  10. This looks even better than I was hoping for.
  11. They're not gonna go back and fix it lol. They're checked out, site has been in maintenance mode with minimal content and paid product promotions all year.
  12. That's rather disappointing, the 2020 version was a lot of fun. I spent a few months bouncing around in FSCharter around the Pacific Islands.
  13. Honestly if you whack in the 16K panel mod on FS.to and buy the immersive audio pack, it feels like a whole new airplane. For about 6 months it was the only thing I was flying in the sim. Eagerly awaiting the update too, but you don't have to let it languish 🙂 Also if anyone is considering this plane but worried about price - it's phenomenal, the best version of a plane that has been a labor of love for 20 years. It is almost never on sale, so 25% off honestly sounds great.
  14. Unfortunately this is becoming all too common in marketing. Big scoop a few weeks ago about an (otherwise no-name) American political commentator doing this with Substack, they're maintaining "two lists" so when you unsub from the first you get added to the second. It's illegal. Homeboy has "1 million" subscribers who never opted in.
  15. The biggest red flag to me is indeed the Aviation Lads trailer.
  16. SayIntentions received a birthday cake for their 1 year anniversary from BeyondATC. The problem was, BeyondATC never sent a cake. That's the whole story.
  17. I disagree. Aerosoft gave all the classic warning signs it'd suck - - Derived from their P3D offering which didn't really work well - Funded by govt with a sunset on the funding so they rushed to push it out - Lost staff members left and right during this process
  18. Hypothetically love the type, didn't like the execution of the avionics, didn't like the sounds. Just overall, like the CRJ from AS, underwhelming.
  19. I’ve let my sub lapse multiple times - it must be due to data deletion request. My guess is it probably has something to do with APIs and their voice synth engine (probably eleven labs, based on age of the product) it’s probably an issue with a downstream vendor
  20. A few weeks ago it gave me heading 330 down to 1500' vectors for the RNAV-A into Burbank from about a mile east of the airport, basically pointed me directly at May Peak (3947 ft elevation) and would've flown me directly into it. I gave it a chance to correct before having to do a terrain escape maneuver (mainly used it as an excuse to do that in the A300)
  21. Might help with their synthesis speed. Even with the free, non-premium voices, it takes a while sometimes.
  22. More active devs of quality for this platform than any sim in my life, so I guess maybe I’m a little more hopeful than that. Who knows? Also sounds like Razbam is coming back to market with the Metroliner, makes sense as the door is fully closed with ED/DCS
  23. Would be a great Local Legend I think.
  24. Generally speaking, it's safe to assume anything previewed by Milviz will be vaporware (or unsupported shortly after launch). The 737-200, developed for 32-bit sims, never got a port to 64-bit, it also barely got patches or any attention after it was launched. Flight dynamics were hilarious - didn't know you could get 5000fpm on departure at MTOW in Phoenix in the summer, but here we are. The ATR was an exercise in wasting everyones' time for 5 years, then when Asobo went to market with Hans they cried foul and acted like something had been stolen from the community: an airplane that was still external blender renders since 2017. I'd much rather wait an indeterminate amount of time than get another airliner from those guys. I've heard the fighters etc. are pretty good at least.
  25. Generally speaking, the way to drive down costs is at scale, but in this case, not necessarily, as the more users you add, the more compute you use. Brian has to pay for the compute: the subscription is a best guess slightly above median customer token usage - you want your sub fee to cover above your fixed costs. On some customers you'll get totally hosed, on a higher percentage they'll use less tokens than the sub price. This is where the feature creep really hits - the more features and API calls you add, the more that % you take a loss on increases, and the profitability of the oversubscribed goes down. You could feasibly have this thing talking to you nonstop on a 2 hour flight between the tour guide, flight attendants, etc. (while it's also doing data calls not just voice synth) 2 years ago, pretty much any of us in tech would have said "compute will go down lol don't worry" - that just hasn't happened enough to offset... all the other stuff. It's not an enviable position, since a lot of the compute infrastructure is locked behind $500bn+ in long-term investments. Pretty much all AI startups are experiencing this to a degree - the difference is many of them have oceans of private equity to float the boat. SayIntentions just has... us.
