Google Earth Buildings to FS
It's not a good idea as most of the warehouse meshes are too high poly for FSX use with to many textures (drawcalls). Your goal should be around 5k of polys with no more than 2 textures, one would be ideal. If for personal use, then if the file is in collada format, use modelconverterX (fsdeveloper) to turn it into an MDL. If the file is still in sketchup format, d/l sketchup pro trial and then load it up and export as another format, or use sketchup basic and export to collada again.

Support or Piracy?
I tend to agree with the OP also. If the vendor has a closed forum, it should probably be that way elsewhere also. Problem is, most legit users don't care about piracy, they only care about their own inconvenience with any attempt to protect a vendors work.

Chopper over New York
Wow, that is impressive.

I'm populating the P3D seas.....with MyCaptain...
Interesting that really didn't seem to take off since it has been around since 2012, probably due to being bundled with MyTraffic. Can you define paths and add your own ship traffic Mitch? here is the forum BTW http://forum.simflight.com/forum/153-mycaptain/

An Interesting Future for Outerra
Nicely done Devon!!! You wouldn't know it's not a full fledged flight sim by looking at your video. I was really impressed with the coastline during the glider footage, very well done for procedural shaders.

An Interesting Future for Outerra
I doubt many are building anything, more like grabbing complex models off of websites and plopping them into Outerra, LOL.. That stadium does look pretty cool though. I agree though, would be nice to have a proper tool for adding and placing objects. As for proper airports, that is all great and good, but without proper aircraft and flight dynamics, it seems kinda pointless.

Cera Sim UH-60L Released
You were misinformed. I am running FSX with SP2 and acceleration, works fine

Pilatus PC12 (In development)
Thanks for your input. I value your POV more over what the systems nitpickers that always bemoan carenado have to say.

A Plea to Carenado/Alabeo
You forgot "IMNSHO" which is the case since you have no actual data to base your tactless statement on.. I am with the OP, they need to go back to what they do right and stick to it. I wish they would do a turbo beaver, with their graphics, it would be a joy to fly.for me.

FTX free airport scenery with MSE or default terrain scenery?
They usually don't work as they should, mainly due to the object libraries being part of the region or shared textures from the region it's in.. You can always try them, but they were meant to be used with the FTX products.

Giving flat scenery some dimension
Very nice!

Going Through a Heli Phase
Nice shots! helis are pretty much all I fly in FS. The Milviz/nemeth huey is my fav, with the cera Blackhawk second, then the Area51sim Kiowa is set as my default aircraft. I also like the nemeth AS355 and the Milviz Agusta 109. I am waiting for the Milviz MD530F and hope since it is a smaller bird it is easier on the frames than their other offerings.

Traffic kills so much FPS
Why would you ever use a Carenado or Alabeo aircraft as an AI one, they are way to detailed for that.
-
Traffic kills so much FPS
Turn off/limit traffic, use different AI models, lower other settings or upgrade your system are your only options. Keep in mind, everything you add to the sim affects performance.

Banning babies from flights?
first off, hitting a child, especially one that isn't yours is totally wrong here in the U.S. and if you are not stable enough mentally to know this (in the U.S.), then you probably should be in a facility, away from the public. That is unstable behavior, regardless of the issues in your life. i am guess the reason you run into so many drunk flyers is because of where you live, here, not as much, especially unruly ones and authorities deal with those for the most part since being drunk in public isn't as common or taboo (illegal yes) here, but being unruly when drunk is an issue. I voted yes to your poll and yes, I have a child. I work in retail management and see way to often parents that are oblivious to the results their crying children have on others and when confronted, I get the usual, "they are babies, it's not my fault, deal with it" crap. That is when i suggest they take their child outside and calm them down before coming back into the building. On a plane, you can't take your child outside to calm them down, so unless airlines can install a small soundproof room, or parents can guarantee that their child will be quiet the whole flight, they should be not allowed on the plane. I see way to often people with kids thinking that no matter what their kid does, they can do no wrong. If adults have to abide by certain rules, children should also. better yet, have all parents invest in....the baby muzzle, LOL http://www.dudeiwantthat.com/omg/fools/the-baby-muzzle.asp . I have a guy in the apt next to me who brings his kid and cell phone out on the deck we share and talks really loud and lets his kid scream at the top of her lungs with no concern for anyone else in the building. I talked to him about it once and tried to reason with him politely, but he was a jerk about it, so I called the police and now I have peace and quiet.

An Interesting Future for Outerra
fantastic video Baber!! Love the trees shadows and how you jumped out and walked around the plane after, very nice!

MSE States vs. MSE Ultra Res Cities
Probably because when you run anything thru resample.exe, you can choose the compression. usually 85 is the default. I am sure file sizes are what come into play, the lower the compression number, the smaller the file size. If you have the same source for all of texas, then running the state at 100% will create 40+ gigs for example, yet running just one city at a time at 100% will be better quality and smaller files to manage. I agree with you though,if you are going to market me something that is high res, it had better come from another source and be at a higher res than the state source.

Outerra Roadmap
the only way to do this is to make sure you have a robust SDK for developers to put their stuff on and clear directions. i think one thing that has hold xplane back for so many years is that their SDK is not as good as people will like and they don't move as fast as possible to fix it and thats why few developers came abroad. please do not forget this as 3rd party development is crucial for OT success Couldn't agree more. Just focus on getting the base set, get core features added like weather and seasons and most important make sure there is enough performance headroom and with tools and documentation, the 3rd party devs will come. I have modded for games with little to no SDK/mod support and for ones with tons of support, either way usually the tools eventually show up for modding, but with the developers support it comes much faster. If you had a comprehensive object placement tool right now, I would have a ton of sceneries installed already, LOL.

World2XPlane Model Library
Thanks for the info Tony, it is much appreciated. I feel ya, I love quality, but learned awhile back what can be done and what probably should be done. I constantly push the line with FSX and my own designs. Just kills me when I see those new to scenery download an object off the net that is well over the mesh/texture limit for what a scenery object should be at, get it into FSX and then release it and wonder why there is a slide show, LOL.

World2XPlane Model Library
Nice job guys!! I am curious, where are the models for World2Xplane from? Do they follow a design structure and meet any guidelines for optimal performance? I am only asking since I see so many FSX wannabe scenery developers using models they didn't create and got from places like google that are mostly in no way usable for scenery design, would really hate to see that start to happen with Outerra from users that don't know any better (not you guys of course) Has anyone come up with a size/poly/mb limit for objects for users to go by before importing?

I wonder what new "biggie" will be next
LOL, some people. Personally, I don't own any FSX aircraft from PMDG and probably never will, Nor do I own the majestic Q400 or accusim for that matter. For me they would be a waste of my money, What is "high quality, high fidelity" to one is not to another and I am happy to share out of my wallet for the ones that get it right...for me. Personally I AM waiting for the Citation ll and the Hawker 850 from Carenado. I am also waiting for the MilViz MD530F and the nemeth BK-117.

What Kind of Flying Have You Been Doing?
I spend more time developing than actual flying, but do take time to fly when I can. last week was a couple of hours in a formation of Apaches flying nap of the earth in photoreal Somalia, was fun. Yesterday, did some A2A P-40 flying around a Afrika Korps WWll scenery in Tunisia I am working on, Just got in from work and thinking of doing some carrier traps off the coast of Yemen.......or fire up battlefield 4, LOL.

Beware the Knee Defender
REALLY? throwing water in my face is akin to assault, I would have reacted to that in a not so nice way. You are just as arrogant to expect them to lose their comfort or even be in discomfort so you can recline. My last flight was a ton of fun when the lady (<- use that term loosely) in front of me reclined right onto my knees and she could care less when I made it clear she was hitting my knees, so i did everything I could to make her uncomfortable, banging on the seat, tapping on it, making noise, etc. She finally got the point after 15 or so minutes and raised it a bit so as not to hit my knees.. We shared a few choice words on the way out also, it was a blast, LOL. I don't care how much a person pays and for what, if the form doesn't fit the function, to bad.

An Interesting Future for Outerra
Spent a few hours in the world and an hour or so on the forums. I like the representation of the world. I loaded up at the spot where Bagram airbase (Afghanistan) is in real life and the mountains in Outerra gave a pretty good representation of what i have seen in videos. I then typed in the coords of St. Johns in the Caribbean, very nice, the islands seems spot on with convincing coastlines and i even waded out in the water which was pretty convincing at waist level, I half expected to see fish swimming by, LOL. I really love the detail at ground level, how you can look down at dirt, concrete and grass and see detail. The sense of distance was really great also. Seems when I go somewhere in a vehicle in FSX, I get there way to fast, Outerra takes a bit longer and seems to make more sense. I really hope Bomber can work some magic with the flight models.. I was a bit disappointed in performance, probably because this engine is more modern and takes advantage of newer hardware than FSX or P3D. i have a 4 yr old system, which is 64 bit and runs FSX at almost full settings.. I started off with everything full on and it was a little choppy, but after backing sliders down a few notches, it smoothed out nicely, but then again, this is plain earth with no weather or addons, maybe it was the new drivers.. I am a bit worried about it going forward after spending some time in the forums. I would hate to see a serious attempt at a new game engine to turn into something like Garry's Mod and the community around it. Really looking forward to some object placing tools, so I can build some scenery, got lots if items and ideas.
