hm the Fokker Friendship doesn't have a free trial like the other aircraft have had.

Just noticed that. That was such a nice feature, I hope it hasn't now been abandoned.

This looks like an excellent aircraft, and the RR Dart sounds seem good. Once again though, spoilt by the default Propeller strobe / stutter that looks terrible, along with the annoying flickery

I asked on the forums, we'll see.

Looks like for real world liveries there’s KLM and DHL.  Hopefully this is paintable and we’ll see more…I checked and INI hasn’t posted any yet like they did with the YS-11.

I’d love to bounce around Ireland in this with an Aer Lingus livery.

Just another antique.  Wish they would give us something with modern avionics and nav systems.  Oh well.

I was at the FS weekend sat in the theatre for the live announcement.

I was sat on the front row next to the media seats from where people were live streaming.

I’m not sure if they were the official live stream, but if you watch it  the guy says the RR darts were “efficient and quiet “

At which point, having flown RR powered HS748 for 1500 hours, I let out an involuntary snort.

So if you hear a strange noise on the livestream..that’s me !

The RR Darts had a super high pitched scream, there was nothing quiet about them.

Well, it’s called Local Legend. Doesn’t that say it is not modern.

And did you want yet another A320 or B737? Maybe not.

Excellent! A must-buy for me being an 'Amsterdammer'.

I've heard during my whole life how good an aircraft this is.

Story in the Netherlands:

In the early years of Fokker, when Fokker became bit of a name in the branch, a Japanese delegation wanted to visit the Fokker factory.
Fokker had no experience yet giving guided tours though, so they scrambled to find someone who preferably spoke Japanese, which they could not find.
So it had to be done in English instead, which the Japanese spoke too.

Fokker chose a person to guide the tour who was well informed on all ins and outs and spoke English very well.
Last point on the tour was showing their oldest Fokker model, arriving there the guide explained: "And this is our oldest model, we call it the Mother-Fokker."

The Japanese were left shocked.

Finally some vintage airliners, no we don't need more Airbus, how many are there now for FS ?, too many.

   - I bought this  - will trial it out but initial thoughts are positive

Variations of this joke has been going around for years.. Just to keep things in perspective  - this term is loosely associated with American slang and I sincerely doubt if it was ever used in this manner , that the Japanese, if they understood the link, would have politely ignored it.

I find most of this style of jokes have a link to inherent western colonialism and rascism ... and really do not now feel comfortable with any reference to them.

I still cringe when at 18-19 years of age as a navy rating, we toured Japan in 1968 with our SEATO Frigate and on shore leave used such terms as Ngasaki Bomb and Horishima bomb when describing those cities still recovering,  as a sort of in house joke because we spoke no Japanese  . I now feel an enormous amount of guilt at my juvenile stupidity and lack of sensitivity .

Bought LL23 the F-27 too-am gonna take it for spin around the Netherlands in the KLM retro liv, now wishing for a Fokker 50-perhaps by iniBuilds!

Hence the name...Local Legends. Those fondly remembered from the past, and locally associated with the current world update, which is I believe the Netherlands? Honestly I think they made the perfect choice here 🙂
