FlightBeam NZAA in FS24

I love flying in and around New Zealand, such a beautiful country. I’m having an issue where gates, at least at the international terminal, don’t move when called. Not really the biggest deal, but ‘mersion and all that. Has anyone else experienced the same? I am using GSX as well, not sure if that has been known to cause issues.

Are you in SU3 Beta? GSX Jetway movement seems to be bugged in SU3 Beta. BUT: I also have this issue on some sceneries in SU2 (and before), a workaround is to call for boarding using the default ATC command BEFORE you do any further GSX actions. It somehow does trigger the jetway action when using GSX alone, but the animation does not start. No other solution so far...

The Jetways at Flightbeams NZAA have an issue with GSX its a known issue, regardless if you're in the beta or not. Not sure if anything is being done about it.

I have the same problem. Do the jetways work if GSX hasn't been installed, I wonder? I've had both active since day one, so not in a position to tell.

From what I read on a forum a little while back, yes if GSX isn't installed it does work.

Thanks for that 🙂 ... so whose responsibility is it to fix? NZA, GSX, or Asobo (or a combination of all three, LOL)?

As I said, try to get the jetways connected using default ATC command for boarding. GSX for the rest...

Doesn't work via the ATC command for me 😞

I didn't know flightbeam released a 2024 version of NZAA. Last I looked on their website or forum NZAA was not compatible.

You do it BEFORE you do anything else with GSX (Reposition is ok...)? Because here it works, if I do anything else with GSX except reposition, the jetway disappears.

Do you mean physically disappears, or disconnects?

If you ask for boarding or anything else, it'll disconnect? Do i have that correct?

I try again, but that is only for me in SU2. Was like that prior SU2. Only on some scenerits. If you sit at the gate and request operate jetways with GSX, nothing happens. It however says the messages and that jetway operation is complete. If you THEN use the default ATC command, the whole jetway disappears. Gone.

Now, if you sit at the gate and power your plane up until you can ask for boarding via default ATC command, the jetway moves correctly and attaches to the plane. You can then continue to use GSX for the remaining ground operations.

The imprtant thing is to give the boarding commando via default ATC BEFORE you request anything via GSX. Hope I could make myself clear?

OK - we some progress/enlightenment ...

YES .. the ATC command ("boarding passengers") does indeed work (thank you!). So ... is it down to FSDT/GSX to find a solution?

Or the scenery devs, as it only happens on some. I do not know, obviously there is a related bug in SU3 Beta, which might have a different cause complicating things even further...

  • 1 month later...

Short update on this one, as I found that you can disable all helipads worldwide using the content.xml file. However, this does NOT fix the GSX jetway issue on NZAA, one would need to fully get rid of the nearby helipad (not only disabling it), and I have no idea how this can be achieved. Guess it would be up to flightbeam to solve it, but as it is only an issue when using GSX jetway command, I guess they simply do not care... bummer.
