566.45 is much better than 566.36

I am curious to know why....

Found this. No clue if this is helpful to msfs2024. Think I'll stay with .36.

GeForce Hotfix display driver version 566.45 is based on the latest Game Ready Driver 566.36.

This hotfix officially only addresses the following issues:

[Indiana Jones and the Great Circle] Some users may experience intermittent micro-stuttering [5015165]

Improved stability for UBISoft games using the Snowdrop engine [4914325]

NOTE: May also address issues with some other games that were unstable with R565 (565.xx/566.xx) drivers

Branch Information

566.45: r566_31-07 (Hotfix)

566.36: r566_31-05 (Game Ready)

Issues

Some EA games are crashing/failing to load with 566.45 (BF-1, BF-V, BF-2042, FC 24, FC 25, FIFA 23, Madden 25, ....) anticheat pops up and shortly after a crash may occur with a 'DXGI_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED' dialog (?EA Anticheat issue? ?driver certificate/whitelisting issue?). Apex Legends anticheat also throws a warning. UPDATE: EA have been notified

Games using BattlEye Anticheat may fail to load when using 566.45: error nvwgf2umx.dll blocked (?driver certificate/whitelisting issue?) UPDATE: BattlEye have been notified

Other games may need shader cache manually deleting when using 566.45 to avoid artifacts / crashes e.g Silent Hill 2

Actually what I have been saying for decades is never fall behind on your PC drivers.  lol dd

If you have a 5000 series GPU, only install the current hotfix if you're experiencing the issues highlighted in the release notes. I tried the hotfix last night and had stutters every 20 seconds, bad enough that the entire sim froze.

I'm actually shocked that  NVIDIA can't provide a working driver for the 5000 series GPU's. Makes you wonder if they've already replaced the humans and are letting AI develop these drivers.

I'm still using 460.79... 😛

Using 576.02 Studio, as I need a stable environment for my multimedia applications.  I still get an occasional CTD with FS2020 but it's been working fairly well otherwise.  I haven't got a crash lately on a restart.

Just tested this one on a short flight and found no issues so far.

Recently upgraded to a RTX 5080 and had been enjoying excellent performance and buttery smooth flights with my Reverb G2 for a few weeks. This was all on driver 576.02.

Two days ago I updated to the hotfix driver 576.15 on a recommendation, due to potential GPU overheating on the 576.02 driver…which I hadn’t noticed, but figured I’d rather be safe.

Last two nights have been the worst performing flights I’ve had since SU2 beta started. An absolute stutter fest on approach and landing. Clearly VRAM related.

I’ve now reverted back to 576.02, which I will test tonight.  Hopefully it's still stable for me.

AFAIK the potential overheating issue only applies if you are using custom fan curves with third party applications like Afterburner, etc.

Been watching the Nvidia feedback thread for this one.  Might actually give it a try over the weekend.  Still a lot of reports in there for 50 series cards, but quite a few positive reports from people on 40 series and earlier.  Maybe I'll finally get DLSS4 features for my 4090

AMD Ryzen 9950X3D | Asrock X870E Taichi | Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 w/EK waterblock | Full Custom Loop Cooling | Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5-6000 | Samsung & WD NVME/SSDs | Phanteks Enthoo 719 | Seasonic Vertex Gold 1200W | Keychron Q5 Max | Corsiar Scimitar Elite SE Wireless | Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo | Logitech Pro Flight Pedals | VKB Gladiator Pro NXT L&R handed | MiniCockpit MiniFCU | Alienware AW34DWF | Asus PG279Q | Win 11 Pro

I find it a terrible shame that people are swapping back and forth between all of these drivers when the issue might actually be just the random performance issues in the sim, which people have anyway, even when they stick with the same driver.

576.28 seems pretty solid to me.

It's so easy to try a new driver and see how it is for you. Nobody is going to need therapy as a result.

It's even easier to stick with one that just works.
