Horizon 787-9 v1.0 released

Take off is really appalling in this aircraft. I follow all the weights from Simbrief, use the EFB to calculate speeds and trim. But still I get a tail strike every time.

Please read the relevant topic on AVSIM, there is no such problem, only an inadequate input of weights and fuel. We are a bit hasty in blaming without checking and slow to be laudative sometimes...

  • if you have an issue, go to their discord and be constructive.  people did this aircraft for free and don't deserve to have their work slimed as 'just rubbish.'

"@everyone  Hello everyone & i hope everyone is having a good week so far. First of all, apologies for being quiet on terms of an update for the 787-9. The team took a well deserved break & then returned back to start 1.0.1. Speaking of 1.0.1. The team has has been working hard on this patch to address the nose issue many of you have been having. The reason it's taken this long is due to the fact it was a rather difficult issue to resolve. However i'm pleased to say we're currently in testing with the patch & we're getting good results.  So if all goes well, we will be releasing v1.0.1 to you very soon. Once again, apologies for the silence & thankyou for your support."

Great news.  This will make a huge difference

Could you please guide me step by step how to change flight level when en route? What is a correct way? How to update FMC with new FL? Is T/D point changes or still the same. I'm taking about WT/HS 78X and 787-9.

Thanks

Any updates on 1.0.1?

Thank you. There is nothing about flight en route level change unfortunately.

You just select the altitude on the Mcp and push the button in.

How about updating information and data in FMC?

The FMC should update automatically if you select a new altitude.

I might be thinking of the airbus though.

Pretty sure it’s the same in Boeing as well

Yes, that’s correct, if the FL selected on MCP  is higher than the FMC CRZ altitude and the MCP altitude selector is pushed, the FMC CRZ altitude will get updated.

What you can also do is if you have for example FL370 as your FMC CRZ altitude, and you get cleared up to FL350 as an intermediate level, you’ll level off in VNAV ALT at FL350.

Now, perhaps ATC comes back and says 350 will be your final today , 370 isn’t available, you need to update the FMC and tell it you’re staying at 350 so you can get into VNAV PATH from VNAV ALT , so it can sort its pressurisation schedule among other things.

To do this you can either type over the FMC CRZ of 370 with the new final height of 350, or an easier way is to simply press that MCP altitude selector in, that’ll update the FMC for you and you’ll then see your FMA magically change from VNAV ALT to VNAV PATH.

I’m presuming here that that function is simulated, I haven’t checked , but that’s how it should work anyway.
