February 7, 20233 yr Yea, I cannot really see any good reason to pick up the 900. The only one I can see is if you wanted to operate the correct aircraft on the correct route. For me, I am ok learning that operations switched out the 900 for an 800 for operational reasons. Hopefully we can now move toward the 777 so I can resume my cargo flights. February 7, 20233 yr Yes, I'll probably skip the -900. I only have the -700 at the moment, so if I were to go for another version, I'd go for the -800 over the -9. February 7, 20233 yr In reality, the -900 series feels significantly different to fly than the others. The -ER (and especially the Max9) have a really smooth, "planted" feel... The straight -900 is more like a truck lol. But yes, after skipping the -800 I am planning to grab the -900; I'm curious to see if this feel has translated into the sim at all. Andrew Crowley

If someone came out with a high fidelity long haul Airbus, a 787 etc then that would create some serious interest. Otherwise, yes, it is becoming boring. or a good short hauler - no legitimate turbo props and I am not really sure of the status of the ERJ and CRJ product lines, I have heard they are both not very good. What makes the -ER feel different from the standard -900? Is it just the extra 6,123 kg (13,500 lbs) of MTOW from the ~26 extra seats and up to 2 aux. fuel tanks? Am intrigued to hear your thoughts on whether PMDG has managed to model the differences in feel. The extra weight makes it more stable for sure, but as far as "feel", that's probably down more to control rigging. I don't have any MX manual info on how to rig the various variants, but I can only assume that deflection rates are slightly different across variants, to account for varying airframe masses. The -ER rigging preserves similar responsiveness to the smaller variants, but coupled with the extra mass it just feels noticeably smoother. I guess I'd be surprised if this actually translated to the sim, but PMDG's attention to detail has surprised me many times with realistic results in circumstances that I'm not sure they ever foresaw. It just seems to be what happens when you model things that obsessively lol. Andrew Crowley
February 7, 20233 yr This release makes me happy. We move closer to the 777. Yeah I won't be buying this. Baber My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/HDOnlive
